Great actor and obviously a gentleman and intellectual in real-life. Superb
i love hearing Clive talk about the show. he has a very introspective mind.
Some actors really masters their roles. Such as the ones played by 'Athelstan, King Ecbert, Floki, and the French princess Gisla. They're great.
Rollo is honestly one of my favorite characters as of season 4. His transformation throughout the shows run is really fun to watch.
I love Rollo. I can't hate him for the things he has done. He has a real family now, he is loved and respected, all he has always wanted. I hope he goes with Bjorn to Spain.

The real Rollo was good friends with Gumarik, Ivar’s son and Ragnar’s grandson. He was just a child when Ragnar died, he never met him. He was something like a third cousin to Ragnar.
Great character, rich and complecated. But still a traitor... :( i accepted this fact and i'm still interested about his fate. History, you showing one of the best tv series ever done.
+Carmen CZ, love isn't everything. There are also exist such things as a family and friends. Your point of view is romanticized. Dispute will come to nothing, yet i wanted to tell you that.

He made the right choice in the end‚ as hard and soul tearing as it was.
why does it seem like Ragnar ages twice as fast as everyone else in this show.
because the show makes no sense and is historically inaccurate
look at lagertha for example , she hasn't aged one bit . by the this time Rollo didn"t even exist lol
jax najjar im not that concerned with the historicity of the show, i just want the logic of the show to make sense. yeah exactly lagertha hasn't aged a bit but ragnar has substantially. the show won't be the same without him, he IS the show.
All the things that happen in this show have happened in real life. Just that some of the characters was not the ones that did them. For example it was not Ragnar that used the dead christian fake burial thing to get inside the gates that was actually Bjorn Ironside according to the history books. And all this would be spread out over many more years and people would have died long ago. But if people died as they did during those times we would have new lead actors every week. So I think the do it very well.
if you want my humble opinion , the show has made it's choice to focus all it's attention on ragnar and made him the center of gravity of everything , people now tend to relate the show intimately with this character mainly because of the actor's charisma , and that is a trap that the producers of the show fell in
To be fair, Rollo has been living live a king all this time while Ragnar's been a vagrant. It's not that shocking he'd look better.

Clive Standon (a.k.a. Rollo) you are so incredibly handsome! Wow. My mother was born in Wexford, Ireland, which is known as a Viking settlement. And, I am so proud I have Viking blood in my veins. I LOVE this series and I miss it. When will season 4 be back??? I love the entire cast of this series. You all are fabulous actors. Thanks for being you!
Yes, Rollo / Clive is increíble handsome.

Man, earning that honor and glory is difficult and Rollo's gotten very far. I don't know if it's just me, but I would never leave my family and people if I was a Viking. True, people in Paris weren't that hungry, weren't that dirty, lived a more civilized life than the Vikings, but blood doesn't turn into water and no matter how much better life was in Paris, I would never switch sides.
Me neither, but still; we dont know exactly what really went on between those brothers and its easy to judge, just sayin
Petra Nyman Rollo has always felt lower than Ragnar and also a left behind, although they are supposed to be equal. Probably that made him betray Ragnar twice. Anyways, I wasn't judging Rollo for his decision, I was just sharing my opinion.

Clive did a wonderful job as Rollo. And yes, we are still learning about this infamous person today; I read where DNA testing is being done to see who exactly were Rollo's parents in Scandinavia. I hope we have not seen the last of Stanton on Vikings; I enjoy his new found place in history!

If there's one theme to this show, it's that all the gods are jerks, and you should never do what they want.

Warned him. Rollo hade a decision to make. Become powerful in life but rejected any kind of salvation in death. Or remain loyal and granted Valhalla. thats how i interpreted the seer. He did reject the gods after all.
He doesnt , but his grandson conquers England in 1066 and his heirs rise to one of the greatest powers in early medieval Europe. He did pretty well by playing out both his northmen brethren and the Frankish king and nobility.

in the real History when rollo did sign the treaty my anncestors came from norway to normandy the same year, apparently there is a relation between rollo and my anncestors, then from normandy to scotland my anncestors became lords and... a grant master of the Knights Templar and build many castles.

I know that Rollo was ambitious for glory, but was it really worth betraying everything he believed in and everyone he grew up with? It just seems like too high of a price for me.
He was hated by everyone anyway because he betrayed Ragnar before. He had no place in kattegat.
Exactly, and he had no remorse after Ragnar's death. He's part of the reason why Ragnar died.
+David Cahill I was surprised at how calmly Rollo took Ragnar's death too, but then again, we never did see Bjorn and Hvitserk tell Rollo his little brother had been, as Ivar said, "offered up like a sacrifice" and put to death. We may have gotten a more emotional reaction from Rollo immediately after he heard the news, but I guess we'll never know.
It's the Viking way
He had the choice to get literally everything he ever wanted, if you were given the choice to leave one brother, would you? He lost everything he loved back at Kattegat, he and Ragnar had some complicated history. He lost his Niece, Gyda. Lost Siggy, lost his parents who didn't pay too much attention to him.
Will Rollo's kid be older as well? Since like 17 or 20 years have passed

Always wondered why and how you Americans keep track of such things. Don't know how it matters, anyway. 31st great-grandfather, haha. I can't go back in time to such lenghts, I don't know any of my ancestors further away than my grand-grand grandparents, but most of my ancestors happen to be.. just peasants. Yeah, a whole line of peasants. Nothing more. Well, maybe some branch of my family was some lesser nobility or something like that.
But claiming descendance from people like that? It's crazy. It's almost like most of Americans come from European nobility. I seriously don't know how is it possible, as 90% of population during middle ages and beyond were peasants and townfolk. So the descendands of these 10% just happen to live in America?
I think it's because there is no real American ethnicity. While in Europe, we identify ourselfs as French, Germans, Dutch, Italians and so on, there is nothing like that in America, as most of the people come from different backgrounds. So instead of identity, you associate yourself with whole race of people and claim things like this. People need self-identification, so they go to extreme lenghts to prove to have such "ancestors". Don't know about you, but I wouldn't like to be descended from slave-masters or a feudal lord.
Even if it's true, how does that affect your life? Having such ancestors? Does that influence it in any way?
I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm attaking you, this is not my intention. I have nothing agaist such a thing, I'm merely curious.
Vitalis 1st there is only one tree we all share common dna ancestor ,,example ,ancestry .com will give you a DNA test ,there are more than a million tested people in that system alone ,doesn't matter adopted a slave with unknown history ,,It wont matter , you would 1st be matched with others sharing your DNA,LISTED WOULD BE EXAMPLE 4th cousin most likely a match ,,it will give the percentage of each nationality and trace It back to the are your ancestors and were you came from ,,but we are all family welcome gods love ,PS ,,yes I got lucky only in the fact that my bloodline was high profile so high documentation and this gives the ability to confirm thru documentation and then confirmed thru DNA ,,DNA changes very little thru the years so yes my DNA WOULD MATCH HIS UNLESS YOU WERE NOT RELATED ,,good luck
