We will never know the truth since Odin didn’t appear to Bjorn directly/individually like he did with Ivar, Ubbe, Siggy, etc. When Bjorn hears his ‘voice’ it can be interpreted as second hand based on how the scene is shot. The useless brother probably heard the voice differently. What we know from this scene is that Bjorn doesn’t want to be Rollo’s son… so that’s it for him as far as he is concerned. In the show (not in history), it seems that Ragnar might not have been sure about Bjorn either so his rush to have sons with another woman (whom Rollo doesn’t fancy) makes a lot of sense. When we first met Rollo he was a brute, a savage, the cliche viking. But now he's weathered and old, full of sorrow and regret his friends and his family hate him with a burning passion for his betrayal not once but twice in a row.
If Rollo only knew what his future Great-Great-Great Grandson would accomplish. Look up William the Conqueror
That was such an epic reply. "You are not important enough for me to care."
How much i cried when Bjorn Ironside died...
Miss this show😔
Alexander Ludwig and Jordan Patrick Smith both had their Travis Fimmel impressions down to a fine art. Combine their incredible performances with some of the best make-up work I've ever seen onscreen and it's actually eerie how much Ubbe and Bjorn seem to channel their father.
In my opinion, it shouldn't matter if Bjorn is Rollo's son or if he is his nephew, the same nephew he once pretended to care about when Bjorn was a child. Family is family. Then again, being loyal to his family was never Rollo's strong suit. Hell, he couldn't even be loyal to his Gods. Lol
Bjorn’s mannerisms are son much like Ragnar’s that I can’t see him being Rollo’s son.
hes ragnars son lmao he the spitting double of ragnar same temper
Watch the show again 🤡
Ubbe is the spitting image of Ragnar
@@benjaminrecalde7628 Ubbe looks like the younger version of Ragnar and Bjorn looks like older Ragnar .
All those attempts to invade England, but it would be the descendants of Rollo who eventually took over England.
Really lol
They weren't just attempts. They ruled for several years, but often fell apart after the conqueror died. The north sea empire for example that ruled over Denmark, Norway and England.
@@ironbullet9956 William the Conqueror
And they still rule until now
@@Indperm1310 By now so do the descendants of Ragnar. On the matrilineal line on both counts though. The male line died out on both sides. At least the legitimate(marriage) line.
imo they had a fling, before Lagertha settled with Ragnar
Rollo is based off Rollo the walker guys, had nothing to do with ragnar, if I remember correctly was different timeline, Rollo's achievements are correct tho and dude was an animal, also quick part of history bjorn ironside was actually Princess asluag son, sorry if I spelt her name wrong.
Hrolf the walker
A lot of characters weren't alive during each other's times. I think only Lagathar and Ragnar were, and she quickly left him to go back to her home and do her own thang while he went off raiding and sailing the seas.
@Wat Gǫngu-Hrólfr
This show just crammed like hundreds of years of Viking history into a couple decades. Plus they did a lot of things historically incorrectly. It’s still a pretty entertaining show
A SECOND time with Ivar? Buddy, that was the third...
The man who helped conceive a person is the father yes but the man who stays and takes care of the kids is the true dad
What an amazing time to be alive a simple cup, or plate back then is now priceless ..now we live in a time where what we have , our beliefs, and the people who teach us are garbage.
This scene is intense and kinda made me sad . But wow . This show and true life was the best
The spat on the floor is just so epic.
Just the way Björn talked to Lagartha about Rollo’s betrayal is straight up like Ragnar.
Love to see some passionate people having a chat about "Who is the true father"
rollo shows up to talk some bs then leaves. classic rollo moment
As Bjon I would probably make the same choice, but as myself I would hope to be Rollo for my honor.
Rollo didn't even exist at the same time as Bjorn and his brothers lol.....few centuries off
@Shifty lol that’s true for us, but in the world of the show all sorts of nonsense are allowed
@@Shifty51991 and the sons of Ragnar weren't actually related or his sons. There's no evidence or proof linking them. King Aelle wasn't alive during Ragnars time either, a couple centuries apart.
@@Pagan.i. No, but go study up on your history 🤡
@@Shifty51991 Decades, but yes. Rollo was born after Bjørn.
Bjorn acts WAY too much like Ragnar, his mannerisms and such.
That's because he was RAISED by Ragnar. It doesn't mean Ragnar is the biological father.
I mean as much as I love Ragnar, Lagertha almost basically admits that Rollo is right about being his biological father at 1:13, why else would she respond in that way?
In any case it doesn't matter to much. Ragnar is the one who raised him, so in my eyes that makes Ragnar the father, no matter who planted the seed.
Bjorn is like his father 😍😍RAGNAR
He is undoubtedly Ragnar's son...
Fantastic series!
eh for the first season and a half maybe lol
its insane how living the viking life style how it keeps them young looking then the second rolo join the frech life style, while the rest looked like they aged 10 years rolo looks like he aged 40 years
At this stage rollo would have been extremely old. Remember how old ragner looked before he died?
Rollo was my favorite because he actually makes history
Rollo doesn't his descendants. Same way sigudr descendant Knut made North sea empire or bjorns United Sweden.
Thank you... He really did... He became the first Earl and Duke of Normandy... His son William built the cathedral Rouen which still stands today and where my ashes will be set with Thiers... Thank you for the kind words
@@ashketchum5466 Both Saxo Grammaticus and Adam of Bremen has named the father of Hǫrðaknútr Sveinn, not Sigurðr. The house of Jelling was not related to Sigurðr Ragnarrsson.
I like how they mentioned this once and never mentioned again…
I say this because any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad
One Look at Bjorn
Yup he's Ragnar's son.
Bjorn even perfected Ragnar’s weird mannerisms.
Rollo es el que mas consigue en toda la serie
True
On this moment,my all respects for lagertha was gone 😢
The only reason why i would even remotely believe Rollo is the fact that Bjorn is big like Rollo where as his brothers are not
And with genetics, there are high chances a person can inherit a trait from their uncle or aunt over their parent.
ROLLO: BJORN, you are MY son!"
BJORN (WITH RAGNAR'S MANNERISMS): " AM I THO?"😂
Rollo was clearly lying . He said these things cuz he wanted to take Lag and Bjorn with him to Paris . Also dont forget that when Ragnar died , Odin visited all Rangar's sons , included Bjorn. So without a doubt Bjorn is Ragnar's son .
BUT APPEARED TO HIM WITH NEXT TO BROTHER NOT ONLY
@@WallasGirl i cant remember the name of this character, but the guy who could predict the future, talked to rangar about his sons future. He talked about Bjorn future. Lastly when odin met and talked the Ragnar's son Bjorn also heard the Odins voice
@@rexrexxar8957 YOU MAYBE RIGHT OR MAYBE NOT I DONT KNOW THE FAULT IS LAGUERTHA, A GREETING FOR YOU
He didn't want the downgrade from "son of Ragnar" to "son of who?" hahaha
lol but nah he loved ragnar
@@rishisaaptacha nah, he was seen as a traitor who gave up to greed for a place in the court, Ragnar could have easily been a king of kings, but he was all in for the adventure, as soon as he started to get too much power he decided to disappear and leave it all behind
I dont know how they perfectly casted bjorn because when i see him i see ragnar
Bjorn is the great value version of Ragnar. The level of intensity and chemistry of Ragnar,Athelstan, and King Ecbert was impossible to recreate. The rest of the cast were unmoving and unconvincing of the characters they played. Ivar the bonerless was trash
🤣
Tell us what you really think
agree. I don't like Ivar also. Over acting.
Ivar the bonerless 😭😭
You are on Mead
Excellent acting by the actor playing Bjorn. He copies Ragnar’s mannerisms perfectly. It’s very hard to believe he is not Ragnar’s son.
This is the worst plot twist in Vikings. Don't know what the writers were thinking.
Especially since even the gods acknowledged that Bjorn was Ragnar’s son.
I haven’t seen the show but I like Bjornes rationale of who his father is
As a descendent of Rollo all I can say to Bjorn is ..”hey cuz”
Also a descendent of Rollo. So..…”hey cuz, hope all is well” 😏
Direct patrilineal? Didn't think so.
And pigs can fly
You wish
The fun part is that they found two actors who looked so much alike.
The world may never know the truth.
It's a show lol
Well, in real life we don't know, but when Ragnar asked about his children, the Aesir told him his son would be more famous than him, and then when Ragnar asked about Bjorn, the Aesir told him that was about him...
@@daianad377 But what is weird is that it is Ragnar who brings Bjorn up in that scene…the Aesir never mentions Bjorn’s name and he seemingly gets agitated when Ragnar brings him up. Then the Aesir doesn’t want to talk anymore, lol.
It always seemed to me that Ragnar was unsure if Bjorn was his or not. He asks about his sons then says something like ‘and what about Bjorn’. I don’t know that the Aesir would have outright said ‘Bjorn is not yours’ he raised Bjorn therefore the assumption was that Bjorn was his. Ragnar would have had to ask the question directly.
Based on the show, I’d bet that Bjorn was his but it’s left open ended.
@@YaYa-ke1zr he's Ragnar's son according to the 👀r
We all know from watching the show who his father is, you need to rewatch it😂
It actually makes perfect sense, Lagertha. I support your enemies and after you are defeated and vulnerable I offer you safe passage into lands under my control. You will belong to me.
i mean like only the face experiences and the Way of his talking is ragnar 100%
2:50 "undoubtebly" 🤔
He was a regnor son if you read the history ,,, and lagartha knows bjorn is Ragnor son ,and she know they just try to impress bjorn to get us with him
Thanks for spoiling it prime
Miss Regnar 😥😥
Flowed like rock. Never made it to the end.
This is the same guy that was in the movie grown ups, he played David Spades characters long lost son who he was scared of 🤣
5:19 What started as a couple of Jews in the desert led to these two men, split between two worlds, receiving a final blessing in the middle of the icy north. It's kinda amazing to see how far Christianity spread.
Edit: Yes, I know that neither Rollo nor Heahmund was a perfect saint (Rollo betrayed his family and Heahmund's first scene was of him breaking his vows of celibacy). My point (what started as a couple of Jews in the desert has evolved into many nations) still stands.
Bjorn has the same countenance, same spirit as Radnar is definitely His son.
The way Bjorn talks and his mannerisms...nah thats Ragnars son 100%
Why do so many people have no ability to grasp subtext? This isn't something just made up on a lark for shock value, this scene is the culmination of a whole character arc going on since season 1.
Why don't I remember this conversation, I watched the whole series and I don't remember this.
You can find this moment in Season 5 Episode 10 of Vikings 👀 www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/detail/B077QJ4T3K/ref=atv_dp_share_cu_r
Give me goosebumbs
To be fair he looks more like Rollo than Ragnar.
What's pretty cool is Rollo is actually my ancestor, my dad figured this out and I just thought it was cool to share.
He looks like Ragnar but sounds like Floki 🤣
how many seasons were there in total? My netflix only shows 4 seasons?
Pretty sure there were 6 seasons of the original Vikings.
Recently they have added a spin off, Vikings: Valhalla. Currently there is only 1 season of this.
Where this filmed? Where has just moss on ground?
