It cannot be easy to produce a new subject each time but please keep doing it. This one was extremely interesting, and I will now raise my adjustable stock to see how it changes my view. I am short and fat but bending my head down to the stock is not easy. This may be an answer. Thank you.
The MC stock is parallel to the axis of the bore and the sight plane (rib) of the gun. It allows the shooter to have a natural upright head position. Placement of the butt end of the stock consistently is achieved by elevating the gun to your cheek and then pulling it into your shoulder. As long as your head is consistently held, butt end placement should not vary.
I shoot a B725 protrap high rib. Feels so good just mounting the gun without having to lean down to contact the comb. Had to do that with my old B725 sporter. And the benefit of a better overview is great.
I also like a Monte Carlo stock because when I mount most shotguns the recoil pad is normally about 3/4 of an inch ABOVE my shoulder. The Monte Carlo helps keep the pad down so my shoulder pocket can absorb the recoil !
Very informative video. I have purchased a used Monte Carlo stock online for a Winchester model 12 20 guage. My son is shooting on a local youth trap team and we have attached a foam pad to his stock, like the Monte Carlo, to fit the gun properly. I am hopeful this stock will improve his fit and scores.
* One advantage of the MC stock is that it positions your anchor point (where your cheek meets the comb ) at the same height so that your sight picture will be the same even if you error in the mounting of your gun. Of course, one must first get the correct height measurement established. A draw back is the balance of the gun may have to be addressed as the MC stock makes the gun butt heavy without proper adjustments being made. If I was going to take up International Skeet again I would have such a gun outfitted for me. The consistent mounting of the gun is so important in obtaining a consistent sight picture. Even as a hunting gun an MC stock is advantageous if designed properly for the hunter, whether he's hunting birds or dangerous game. An adjustable comb is a good idea, if proper weight and balance can be maintained. As far as the MC stock on a woman's gun is concerned, I wonder if the idea is to be able to give a woman the ability to adjust the length of pull accordingly while still leaving enough wood in the stock to help absorb some recoil, and to also maintain a proper sight picture. Just a few of my thoughts, take them or leave them.
So, A Monte Carlo stock is designed more for women? I always wondered why I have never found a firearm with a Monte Carlo stock to fit me very well. They’re always way too high in the cheek.

Hay could you a do a film on a Krieghoff?
David, would love to see something similar (e.g. advantages/disadvantages) with the English/straight stock. :)
I always assumed it was to avoid painful mishaps with the collar bone. Every day's a learning day 😉
Apparently you don't pay any TAX with a Monti-Carlo stocked gun...
.
HAH! 🙂
Please due a review on the krieghoff k80 super sport please 👍👍🤔
I always thought that the Monte Carlo stock looks well on both rifles and shotguns.
David, any opinion on whether the MC stock decreases/increases felt recoil in comparison with a typical straight stock? Perry Pappous
I would assume since the design adds extra weight to the stock it will reduce recoil to a degree.
Thank you again David.
