I've had them all expensive semi autos, O/U, S/S. I've gone back to the S/S a beautiful 16 bore and it's a dream to shoot. I do mainly game. Pigeon decoying. and rough shooting.

It’s all cosmetic in my opinion
A decent side x side will shoot just as well as a over and over , and I’ve proved it to myself. You either got or you haven’t that’s what shooting is about for me and my opinion.

Loved the video. I've been in love with SxS shotguns since I was a little boy. My granddad had one and I've always loved the classic style and forms. I've owned a couple second hand SxS, mainly AyA. Last year I found a really nice Sauer SxS for left handed, which I am, and it's really nice. But two years ago, I had ordered a custom made SxS to Chapuis Armes, in France. After a long wait, it's finally in Chile awaiting for customs clearance. I can't wait to have it in my hands. I shoot pheasant mainly and like to practice my shooting with clays. My shooting club has both skeet and trap fields. This video was quite reassuring for me: in my club nobody shoots clays with a SxS. Thanks a lot.

What kind of argument is “if you get the right side-by-side, there just as many out there.” Because, no. What you own doesn’t change what other people own. I’d love to know what you were trying to say.

Suhl fortuna and brno. Suhl is havy. Brno is light. Both of them are from 50's. Just for fun. Used with home made black powder shells. Popers. Plate rack. Duel tree. No issues. Both of them has chokes. Works nice at trap. Budget was like 100£ for each.

Thank you for this and all of your videos !!!!
I wanted to ask ,, is there such a thing as an all around gun ???
Buckshot for dear , heavy shot for ducks or geese and light shot for rabbits and quail ???
I've been thinking I may need to get 2 guns but I thought it's best to ask first !!
Thank you for any advice you could offer !!

I'm a complete novice and can't afford very much. I was lucky enough to buy a kestrel side by side for £20. It's rubbish, but it bangs and I occasionally hit a clay. The hardest process was obtaining the license and the time involved.
I wish I wasn't put off because of the idea the sport is expensive.

It’s tough to find a 20g SxS, second hand, here in Canada. The few that turn up are bought right away, or cost a few thousand. And for get about getting a 28g for under $2500

Man, you guys across the pond may not have as many guns available to you, but it sure looks like you have some high quality ones. I wish I could get my hands on one of those awesome english side by sides. I'd import one, but importing a gun into the US legally is such a hassle.

Mr Johnny Rooster, was that a side by side or an over under that shot you? Beretta and Browning sell more OU than all the side by side manufacturers combined. Not even close. That being said, my go to hunting gun is Model 21 20 ga with 28” bbl. Classic

  • @aircommando505

My son took out all of our best shooters with a 90 year old Field grade LC Smith with thirty inch barrels and full and full . We only paid 1,500 . He out shot guns 10 times the price. Side by sides are better than over and unders and he has everyone at the club questioning why they didn't have one. No question side by side are a far superior shotgun to any . 😎

Shotgun is most deadly weapon at close range. Its still legal here . A guess would be the authoritys where your from dont like the idea of possibly being cut in half with a double barrel full of buckshot or slugs.

    • @elemental4rce
      @elemental4rce 2 роки тому

fabarm are a good option for a modern side by side capable of shooting steel, you can also find some of the other berreta models such as the silver hawk 2nd hand for half the price of a parralello and still lovely guns to use. There are a few other modern companies that make nice functional side by sides, just have to look around and do your own research

Why do you only plug guns from close to a grand up into the thousands in videos aimed at beginners?
There are literally thousands of shotguns out there from £25 upto say £500 that will outshoot nearly anyone behind the trigger. My daily beater is a sub £500 sbs, I learned with it nearly 30 years ago and I still shoot it today.
Granted I have nicer guns for driven days ect but that is something to work upto not to start on. Throwing several thousand pound guns at beginners as a starting place is one of the reasons people won't get into the sport (well between that, the elitism, tweedy snobs and general misinformation).
30 years ago we would not dream of dropping say 3k on a starters gun for game shooting, you started with a hand me down probably fit for the parts bin and went from there.
