emericaman16 after I installed steeda intake for my 2010 mercury milan 3.0 v6 and use tune 87 octan I have issues like check engine light codes p0172 and p0175 can u help me
Wolfie Rc Yeah, I think it's just under 7 seconds now. The passing speed acceleration really improved and combined with the intake sound it's a lot more fun to drive!
Wolfie Rc hello i just seen your video for installation of cold air intake on 2011 ford fusion why did you use a OBD 2 scanner. Do you have to use the OBD? What would happen if I don't
jgbigsock Its a tuner. If you don't get the tuner and just install the cold air intake, leave the restrictor in. You can see at 1:25 I remove the restrictor.
ya i read that. i installed the tune but it was fucking with my transmission so i reset it. It was making my car hesitate then jerk forward. idk if it’s something wrong with the tune or what
Do you have any other modifications done? I just got a 2011 fusion sel I’m not sure where to start, it has a pretty good look and feel already, also it’s a shiftable trans so not too sure how that compares to the one on here or the 3.5 L sport versions
I have the same 3.0L V6 SEL. Heard the transmission in the SPORT is made by Toyota and much better. Not too impressed with Ford's in the 3.0L. Its full on retarded. You have to manual shift it or it wants to do absolute stupid nonsense crap. Never knows when to shift or what gear to shift into.
Bro, just leave it alone. I have the 3.0 as well, and it's not worth it. Just get straight pipes and cold air intake and you might need custom headers. Other than that, leave it alone.
Yeah. I'll sell you the one in this video used for $250. You can buy tunes separately from CD3Performance. Let me know. I no longer own the fusion so I don't need it anymore.
@@ItzUncleRandy No. The way it works is you buy the tune from CD3Performance then you have to provide them with information specific to your vehicle, they customize the tune for your specific ECU, then they send it back to you for you to put on your tuner then load onto your cars ECU.
Kyle oh ok sounds good sorry I was confused on how this all works but thanks for explaining that how much would you charge if I had you send it in to them and if I gave you what type of car I have that way you won’t have to send it here then I send it back to them. Could that be possible?
The tune allows your tachometer to hit the 6k+ range, or did your stock sel rev that high already? I'm planning to put the Steeda intake on my se I4 to see what gains I can make without a tune first.
you got the 4 banger too? ik it’s been a couple years since you commented but i just bought this intake for my 4cyl and i wanna know if you notice any differences or changes. hmu asap bro! hope the install went well
Say I install the 91 tune but don’t want to use 91 like once every couple fill ups.. I saw a preview comment you left on a question stating you can’t use 87 octane with the 91 tune so I guess my question is what would I have to do lol. Unflash the tune or? Should I only buy the CAI and no tune? I really want the tune as theirs no other real way to add HP to a 3.5 Fusion. But know I can’t commit to only getting 91 octane.. :(
Kyle I didn’t know James was steedas guy. If I buy a normal power package it comes with a preloaded 87 and 91. But if I buy a tune by James he will make it custom right? I have a resonator delete but that’s it. I didn’t know steedas tune came with 87 and 91 preloaded. I just read in someone’s comment. Unless they also bought the tune by James. I’m just confused I’m sorry man
My engine pretty much died. Kept throwing a variable cam timing sensor code and would die when ever I came to a stop. I replaced them at a 3rd party shop, didnt fix it, took it to Ford and they said they'd have to tear apart the engine to diagnose. Cleared the code, sold it to carmax. RIP
Hey i just got mine to but after hard acceleration my car goes limp has that happen to you? I have a 2012 ford fusion v6 3.0 i put in the 87 tune but it started to act like this so i returned back to stock? Any suggestions?
On 87 and 93 gas mileage supposedly increases. But it inspires you to drive faster so maybe won't increase mpg. E85 gets horrible gas mileage but it's way cheaper than regular gas.
@@micahtolleson9735 Parental control maybe? If you dont have an admin key the car can be set to never go over a top speed like that. So your kids dont drive fast. You can program that stuff flicking the key on and off a few time to get into the settings. Id look it up first though of course.
@@emericaman16 I'd actually like to apologize sir. It's 115 degrees here in AZ, I was just finished with my buddies install of a Steeda intake on a I4 Mustang, so I figured I'd do mine as well. Hi so i’m about to install a tune by james finally but it’s says to remove the insert sleeve. is that the piece inside of the maf housing?
I felt 2:30 all the way bro 🤣🤣

after installing cold air intake do i have to plug in a OBD 2 scanner? What would happen if I don't do it
jgbigsock I am curious about this as well
@@Gwonder12 If you're still wondering the cold air intake will provide more horsepower / mpg but won't be as effective w/o the tuner
Its a tuner, not a scanner. It just retunes the cars computer to make most of that SHORT RAM INTAKE.
Its not a cold air intake lmao
hey man this was 6 years ago so not sure if you’ll see this but when you first tuned your car did it take a while for the transmission to relearn?
ya i read that. i installed the tune but it was fucking with my transmission so i reset it. It was making my car hesitate then jerk forward. idk if it’s something wrong with the tune or what
Does the check engine light come on frequently due to the change of the air intake? How is the car running now?
