Hey Ryan, being videographer myself, great job! Lots of editing, lots of footage. I feel your pain, it worth it! 🎉🎉🎉 please don’t give up, it takes time when people noticed it. Keep telling the story about indigenous people, this is more than just an aviation. US citizens don’t realize how hard the life can be.
Thanks so much!!
Great thing that you added ground action footage...quite interesting watching how the background operations of your flights are. Thanks for your amazing videos. There is a lot of learning information in every single one.
That is the tail section of a B-24 Liberator, upside down with both vertical fins torn off. Interesting find. The rest of the plane could be anywhere within a mile more or less, depending on what altitude it was at when that piece got blown off. Most likely in combat.
The rear turret is also missing, but you can make out where it was.
Interesting. Thanks for the description. I was able to web it for further info and comparison.
Ryan, your videos are getting better and better each time. This one is top notch for sure! Great camera footage of P2-NTM in action. Also enjoyed angles from inside the cargo pod. Thanks Ryan and Stuart.
Thank you
I spent 8 years in PNG 1977-1987 one of my mission tasks was to keep Jungle based missionaries supplied by air, sea, river, road and porters. Much of time was by air. Came a cross lots of wrecks both Japanese and allied. I also put my hands on a few. Thanks to the bush pilots serving all over the world a special breed.
Awesome vid, Ryan. Love the cloud flying. I love seeing all those children down on the ground and all excited about airplanes and helicopters that was really cool. Be safe God bless
Another great video - all in a day's work bush flying in PNG! I really enjoy seeing what happens on the ground and the footage was very well edited with the mixture of camera, drone and helicopter coverage - very effective. A very atmospheric flight back Goroka - you make look so easy Ryan.
Loved this video! Showing how you tied down the coffee reminded me of my time as a C-130 load master - having to calculate load restraint and CG. Tried some of excellent PNG coffee recently.
Great job Captain...May God bless you and your family because of a such kind and diligence heart you have towards your your mission to cater Papua New Guineans needs whom they resides in remote zones...😍💯👋👋
Great video Ryan, you really went the third mile with the photography of/in the helicopter at the beginning.
Is Josh the helicopter pilot the same guy who flew the Kodiak with you back in 2020?
Yes same guy. This was Stuart flying in this video, but Josh got the plane wreck footage
I’m just amazed at how much you have to know to be able to safely and successfully do your job. Your skills and knowledge are just incredible. I love your videos. You seem like a really fine person. I’m grateful for that.
So well done! I love seeing the local people who rely on your flights!
Vest best!
Frank in Colorado
Being a Missionary Bush Pilot is a lot of hard work! I love how the kids are facinated watching you! I love your youtube channel!
Thanks for the ground portion and helicopter footage. Love your work.
The flying is cool but I wish you’d also talk with the locals and share more of their stories!
Great thing that you added ground action footage...quite interesting more of that would be cool
Good to know
Really enjoyed this video! The extra camera angles and footage from the drone and helo and cargo bays really made it awesome! Nice to see the little white dot up close too. Do you know the background on that wreckage? Great job on continuing your narration after your audio went out--very seamless. Did you use a special audio filter or jump in another plane and narrate through your headset while watching the clips you had already edited?
I don't know any details on the wreck unfortunately. I looked, but couldn't find anything. And yes, I edited.it, then did a voice over the footage so that the sound was the same
Ryan, thanks for a superb and very varied episode of a busy bush pilot day! Just superb drone and chopper footage around the village. Seeing all the kids is lovely and no doubt, the highlight of their day is seeing all the sweet smelling turbine machinery arrive in their back yard. Great decision making enroute back to Goroka! Cheers from NZL, David.
Love both - on the ground and the flying, Have spent a lot of time in Haiti and can relate to the kids swarming the plane. The Heli footage is great as well. God Bless!
As always Ryan great to hear your thought process as you navigate your way over PNG. Loved the footage of the R66, would be great to see you go on a flight with them. Hope the fam are all well and settling back to PNG life.
Thanks Ryan. Enjoyed seeing how to navigate through papa New Guinea on a heavier clouded day. I always enjoy flying with ya
Deffo enjoy a bit more on the ground stuff Ryan, but you can only do what you can do. when I saw all that coffee up the front I was a tad concerned for a second 😆.
Do those Robinsons scare anyone else? been up in microlights and not worried, those helis ......I'm like no thanks
Very interesting and instructive! Love the vision into other ways of life! Thank you for your efforts in bringing this to everyone’s attention!
I admire the work you do there helping a local community. Great work with the cinematography.
Great video. I really enjoyed the whole episode. So much went into it. Thanks for sharing. I liked all of it. 🙏
Really like your new compositions and angles of footage. The new (you are following helicopter) drone footage was also very nice to see also. 👍 Actually the voice over was nice also.
God Bless you guys, you are our hero. Stay healthy and enjoy your great job.
Loved the video Ryan thanks for sharing it with us. I get so excited when I get a notification for your channel thank you. God bless you and your family and may God be with you on all your journeys.
The cloud layer sandwich view just never gets old
Excellent video Ryan!
Excellent video, Ryan, always informative and insightful. Totally enjoyed it!
these are my favorite videos, so great to see how you handle weather
Another great video. Thanks for showing it.
Appreciate the technical details, your head process, and the beautiful terrain
Great vids and great insight/experience for flying in PNG. Can't wait till the next one
Glad you enjoyed it!
worked on the PNG LNG pipelay (offshore) as a diver / diver tech. Spin wing from PMB to Omati, refuel try find barge offshore, no go, 2 more times try, no go, fly back to PMB, sleep same thing in the morning, 3rd attemp in the arvo, whoa clean sky and there the barge was, landed, refuelled the spin wing, and away it went - some NZ company on the choppers - air works?
Great video. I appreciate you're including the voice-over to complete everything.
Also... Exciting to see 300K about to pop.
Cool music, Ryan! And great flight.
Rayan
Thank you
I really enjoyed this video
Just an amazing flight ✈️ you make it look so easy
I know it’s not
Bravo
My best wishes always from
Las Vegas Craig
You say you like to sing Karoka? (Muted trumpet playing whaa whaa whaaaa!)
Wow.. I wouldn't leave the Robinson very sensitive flight controls unmanned.. the slightest wind breeze could tilt the rotor and unsafe situations could occur.. thank god it didn't.. be safe out there
One of my favourite vids of yours, and that's saying something - really enjoyed it, sir. Be safe!
Thank you Ryan. Really enjoyed this video.... very interesting. :-)
Enjoyed that one.
Great video.👍
Thats great when you show Aircraft/airfields from WWII
Glad your passengers wereredy for your arrival.
All that rudder input on takeoff made it look like you were pedaling a bicycle. Wow...
Loved the content today Ryan. Could you give an update on the project where a new building was being done to house the mower/coffee etc underneath. On top was a charging station for phones and a meeting room. The other was the airstrip that needed repair, a lot of stuff was ferried in by chopper, matting and pipes to run water off the strip. Would love an update on both those…..thank you Roger
Yes I shot a video out there last week. Coming soon
Excelllent, thank you
Hey Ryan can u do a whole series where u find all the parts of the bomber and probably explore them and try getting some souvenirs from them? 😀 (maybe even try and get all the parts fixed into the real legend)
You will need permts to visit the sites. Your not allowed to take souvenirs. The last time I touched one it came apart in my hands.
Fantastic video, loved the new format. Helicopter cam was awesome
excellent footage thanx
Production values, particularly the super variety of shots, are impressive !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi
Do you take the kids for a quick tour around the valley? You shold be able to sdouble stack. They all look very happy.
Thanks great trip......
This was very informative, interesting and a pleasure to see more of what you do. Fascinating! Thanks.
Cool. I think I figured out how to tie several sea flying nodes. Thanks for new video from green PNG 😍 12:52 ww2 plane
What were the coordinates of the crash site?
Microsoft FSX used to havea "missions" feature - This has the potential to be an awesome series of mission flights in MSFS2020 with the Kodiak from SimWorks Studios
i really liked more time on the ground , loading the cargo
How safe us flying a drone around aircraft like this. Would like to do it on my grandpas airstrip.
Kind of like any formation flying. Discuss strategy/plans with the pilot ahead of time: like determine what side of runway you'll stay on at different phases of operations so the pilot doesn't have to worry about hitting you. Get a transceiver (or at least receiver) so you can hear pilot communicating with you. Caution: wake turbulence.
Exactly what 👆 said. The only thing the helicopter pilot didn't want was me too close or flying overhead the rotors in case the drone decided to stop flying
I enjoyed this style of video.
Nice flight and great mountain and forest views.
this is so cool a load master and pilot hands on like the army cheers mate im buying some of that coffee
Excellent, love the running commentary and explanations!
I wonder why horns aren’t put on planes? That would help before take offs like this and also during emergency landings on highways and roads. When driver’s don’t see the plane coming down.
KEWL video, Ryan. Thanks
Respect Ryan for the great work you do in PNG!
But I just keep asking myself how come these single engined planes are allowed to fly there? If your one engine fails you are going down in unforgiving terrain. No redundancy!
I am a seafarer doing dynamic positioning work. Everything related to navigation and maneuvering is triple redundant as a requirement by the IMCA. And in the unlikely event that everything fails we are still floating. And if we sink the rescue options are also redundant.
You must have a lot of confidence in that one engine (and in the maintenance crew)
Good morning from Minnesota USA! Great episode!
Wow, just Wow! I am so excited to have found your channel! Way back in 1990 I had the tremendous experience of flying from PDX to Port Moresby to Lae to Kimbe on West New Britain with NTM on a short term building project. A multi hour ride in the back of an overloaded truck out of Kimbe, and a 20 minute Heli ride to our final destination. 2 cyclones, washed out bridges, rascals, camp guards with spears and bows, children singing, all night pig roasting.....your video brought back so many memories. Subscribed, and will scratch together some Patreon cash. You show some amazing flying skills. When I ride right seat in my Brother-in-law's Kitfox, I like flat ground and clear skies!!
I fly for NTM and am out in West New Britain this week. Cool stuff and welcome
@@MissionaryBushPilot Sorry to bug you again - but is it possible that the place I went to in New West Britain was called Kiaku or similar? thanks
Gineau Ocean Rover! Nice choice!
Good work 👍
Amazing mission, thank you for having me onboard. Collateral question, if I may (just because I was drooling) 😉 Can I ask you for a discount coupon/deal for the great Ginault Ocean Rover (or Silent Service)? Much appreciated and cheers from Sydney.
Hello Ryan.😎Does the pilot that flies the Robbie have a YT channel we could follow too?
Excellent video as usual!🥳
Thank yo Ryan!
Another great video 😊
Bom dia comandante like show do Brasil
Good Video again , greetings from germany... 🙂
Thanks. For the ride
How fun to see Tarabo on the map. My wife was born in Goroka and lived in Tarabo as a child (MK). Is the strip there open? It wasn't when we visited Goroka in 93.
Great Flying Ryan!
How are you not scared with some of your landings 😂
So cool and I want some coffee
God bless you capt.🙏🙏🙏
Liked the extra content
Hi Ryan Great Video you are great to fly with ..Peter ex Qantas retired Perth WA😊
Awesome man thanks for the upload!
Great video, really enjoyed it. A wonderful break from U.S politics.
Will you get the next gen Starlink antenna (just announced)? Would be neat to have Wi-Fi to pull the latest weather info and radar images in split seconds, and it should be light enough to be a no-brainer - I think.
So much respect for you guys
Let’s get some GoPro’s on that motorcycle of yours and post a couple rides!
Lovely...
Very much enjoyed the video
Awesome, thank you!
I know nothing about aeroplanes but don't they have auto pilot, which is tied to a GPS to blindly bring you where you want to go.
very nice videoi again. but i saw you should put your back seat more up so u can sit more relaxed^^
Hey did anybody see the white thing gliding down the mountain somewhere at 15:10 What is that? Or probably it was just water droplets on the windshield?
I was asked once to map all the crashed aircrafts in the Bahamas
Hi!
What is Your opinion on new-next generation Kodiak model?
great stuff thanks for sharing
Quite a bit of history happened on this island during WWII.
I spent 4 months exploring Australia a few years ago, borrowing a Troupy from a mining company I was helping out with welding up complex designs scales for loading semi trucks to exact weight limits,
and also restoring WWII aircraft for twenty years prior.
It's a brutal 14hour flight from LA, then add Mpls Mn. So I'm all caught up on every episode of Family Guy on the way there.
I was about to ask before about aircraft that never returned, and by golly it comes up.
That terrain is so severe, I worry every time you launch off the edge of the earth with absolutely no margins for errors.
So I don’t doubt there's salvaged aircraft scattered about like Alaska. Impossible to recover.
Let alone knowing the wildlife there, if one did go down and gets stranded, probably ends up a bad day.
But how Austalians in WWII fought off the enemy, It would be interesting seeing those points of interest.
If covered in other tours.
Amazing how you can accomplish so much intense navigation that would have taken a full crew just to dial in.
Cheers
Lucky accurate heights are available. WW2 only maps available were National Geographic magazine guys data. Using their mapping the min safe crashed some guys. That got fixed quick.
