I tried Nutrafol and viviscal for 5 months. Neither worked for me. I then came across a oriental medical doctor who told me to do a hair regimen and that worked for me. I did the following:
1. Scalp massage 20 minutes a day
2. Taoist soap 2x a week only
3. Fragrance free shampoo for rest of the time
4. Nettle tea to detox liver from hormone residue
5. Collagen supplement daily 2x a day at least
This worked for me anyway. thought id share.
How long did it take for you to see results?
My dermatologist completely dismissed my concerns of hair loss so here I am, on UA-cam trying to figure it out on my own 🙄
Same thing happened to me. He said, your scalp is fine… you are fine, then he handed me a free shampoo for my scalp. I asked for supplements alternative and did not get that answer back …
Same here, my doctor recommend viviscal, but she said you are fine. But no, my hair is thinner.
You are really good at explaining this. Thank you!!
your reviews are the best, to the point!
Hi jenny Dr liu ,so glad to see a video from you 🎉 😊 ❤ xx
Thank you for a very thorough information about hair loss and then these two supplements! Due to the high dose of Biotin, I do find that supplementing with whole food based multivitamin with antioxidants and saw palmetto would be safer and more cost effective.
Hello Dr. Lui! I’m new to your channel and am so very grateful for your explanation. You thorough, informative and a joy to watch! My beautician recommended Nutrafol for Covid-19/Time of Life hair loss. I couldn’t decipher the difference between that and Viscal. Now I understand. Thanks for your help 😊
Super helpful!
I tried Viviscal for 9 months but saw no improvement to my hair loss. I am now taking Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Multi vitamins. I am also massaging my scalp once per week with Jojoba, glycerin mixed with Rosemary oil. I am hoping for good results over the next 6 months.
Post updates!
It's like you made this video for me!!
Thank you for your videos Dr. Liu. I would like to ask you if is there any contraindication to use Vichy Vit C and Vanicream Vitamin C (THD form) serum together, then moisturizer and sunscreen in the mornings. Thank you for your response.
Great video! Thanks!
Viviscal works only while i was used to it, and my hair fell off right after I stopped. Now, I will definitely try the Nutrafol as they have 25% off for 6 months subscription! Thank you for the review!!!
If you stop using Nutrafol your hair will fall out too
How has Nutrafol been working for you?
@SolWaid1965 I started using nutrafol two months ago, and #1 thing that I first noticed is no scalp itching! But in terms of groth, I haven't seen change in the past two months like Viviscal. I decided to continue for two more months and see if I can see change! I also noticed that I don't struggle with constipation after using these pills!
Years ago I tried viviscal for hair growth. It works, it works, it works. My hair grew in a way like never before but the cost was too much for me to maintain.
For you maybe, but not for all!
@@christinakelly9599 true..many people definitely could afford to purchase this product. I just couldn't
Did you notice changes in your hair when you stopped taking the supplements
@@traacy012 yes, first let me say my hair on viviscal grew out very thick, very black almost like dog hair..🥴 when I stopped the hair growth stopped 😔..I'm not sure I'm sad about that though.
Did your hair fall out when you stopped taking them?
❤ informative
@dr.jennyliu thank you for this video. It helped me make a decision. I did want to highlight that nutrafol also has biotin, so perhaps should update the video to reflect this so viewers can notify they providers when this is appropriate.
She already mentioned it in her video if u listen to it carefully
Would nutrafol and rosemary oil be a good combination?
Ty❤
I am concerned with the amount of vitamin a in nutraful. Too much can build up and cause hair loss. Same thing with vitamin e. Most of us do not need a supplement of the latter.
what do you recommend for a 45yo woman with AGA who can't take minoxidil or spironolactone because of heart and kidney issues, is there nothing else that can turn the tide? shampoos, dietary changes, serums and LLLT (hairmax comb) haven't worked so far, and it seems like PRP really only works for some in conjunction with medication :(
I'm curious as to why you couldn't take one pill at a time throughout the day, (i.e. breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime) as opposed to have to swallow 4 fairly large capsules. I have a hard time swallowing a larger pill and these would probably gag me every time. Also have any of your patients noticed a significant hair loss after stopping Nutrafol?
Great video, could you take these supplements for prevention?
I too am curious. Could you just buy the supplements and make your own version for cheaper? Even to be more effective because you customize it.
My mother just had a hair implant recently and she was told by her Doctor to try one of these supplements. Do you recommend Nutrafol for her or Viviscal? since sometimes her blood test was shown iron sufficiency.
Thanks, Jenny! Great video as always.
Quick question:
I’ve been using 0.01% tretinoin cream daily with no irritation. Recently I bumped up to 0.025% with lots of irritation. My goal is anti aging. Is 0.01% daily good enough for anti-aging if I go back to that?
Try applying tret over a thick moisturizer. If you want maximum result you gonna have to acclimate your skin to the max dose which is 0.1%. But of course if you can't tolerate, then stay low.
Only go for isotretinoin less than 0.01 percent..just be consistent! It’s safe ! Above this concentration leads to facial fat loss plus thinning plus too much dryness !
For skin or hairloss ? It works for both
@@klausrostock4163 Dr Dray says to keep tretinoin away from eye brows and hairline because it will slow or stop hair growth
Can you take Nutafol if your sensitive to gluten?
Yes vivscal helped me and I am happy but I became like a wolf it made my hairbody grow more !!
Also, I wanted to ask you if you could use Vanicream Vitamin C at night with Tretinoin at night. Thanks again
You should not use vitamin c with Tret. Vitamin c should be used in the AM.
Dr. Liu, is vitamin e (as tocopherol) a carcinogen??
It is! Synthetic vitamin E is def linked to cancer! It’s all over UA-cam, just watched a video of a doctor talking about it! Multivitamins are synthetic too which I don’t take
I went to a dermatology Dr. They did not help at all. They just said your scalp look healthy but we don't know. I tried the scalp shots. It made my hair come out worst. 😩🙏
The "worse" hair loss may have been shedding of older/dying hairs or it sped up that process. But did it grow back new hairs after? Give updates!
@@subs4794 No it didn't
Was excited to see your review on Nutrafol & Viviscal. Still not sure if one has better results than the other for androgenic alopecia and would appreciate your thoughts on that. Also, doesn't Nutrafol have "DHT" blockers which I have read is important to prevent hair loss?
Very interested in seeing a video on the Nutrafol products you are using. In particular, are they helpful for fine, thin hair?
All I can say, is that hair stylist, Tabitha Coffey, used Viviscal for her hair thinning & it worked for her.
Thanks elaine! That's good to know. 🙂
Viviscal does grow hair but it won't stop your shedding, you will have to find the trigger for shedding while using these supplements.
@@FF-by6citake about 1.5mg a day of fin, but can’t help but think it’s continuing to slowly thin. It’s definitely slowed, when I was 21-22 it just started GOIN.. but I had thick hair. 24 now and it doesn’t look bad, but it’s definitely not better than it was. Considering dutasteride..
(My dad was bald af by my age.. so It makes me believe the fin is doing something)
Is there anything similar to these two that do not contain shark?
HairOmega with DHT blocker
Started using nutrafol diarrhea is defiantly a side effect!
viviscal works,I used it since 2017 my dermatologist told me to try professional,I then used regular one periodically and they work about the same.It does work,I no longer need a wig or extensions however the hair does not thicken much, if you have it fine like me i will still need living proof and other styling stuff to make it fluffy-ish.Please share if you used nutrafol, is it worthy? It is significantly more expensive so i was eyeballing for a while
Did your hair fall out once you stopped using it
@@queeno547 no,they were falling the very first time i started taking it but the instruction said its ok and yes, they grew pretty quickly after.never after stopping
@@lina_cats thanks
@@queeno547 welcome😘
Dr. Liu, do you think there's any advantage to taking both Viviscal AND Nutrafol or are they too similar in terms of ingredients and efficacy? Though the combined cost would be super expensive, somedays I feel so desperate that I am willing to pay any amount to improve my fine, thinning, ugly hair 😞
For combined hair therapy, you're better off doing finasteride and/or more minoxidil or both, with your supplements. Make sure to also use shampoos and conditioners specifically for hair loss/thinning.
If you’re a guy, stay far away from finasteride if you care about your manhood.
My question is. Is there a natural way to get rid of gray hair,on my head and my beard?
There are plenty indian ayurvedic treatments that can help with grays
Research copper
I skeptical either this supplement if it is really works????
It's a combination of many supplements in one product...
Try $88 (now) Nutrafol
How to order.please
Amazon
is Castor Oil good for hair?
yes, but you should do a hair growth regimen to actually see real results. Just an oil, or pill isnt going to be enough. I talk about this on my channel.
Is there any to lighten fine blue viens on the face and to thicken the skin on face also iv been looking up different creams and I’d like if you could help me I’d really appreciate it thanks
There’s a procedure you can do to get rid of the veins appearing like that! I just found out about it because you can see mine in my legs and breast chest area pretty good and hated it my whole life, it’s called sclerotherapy!
Nutrafol may be the better option for those who have religious dietary restrictions
and all of these work better WITH a dermaroller - lets topicals go in deeper, triggers repair, blood circulation etc
You are low on the Nutrafol. It's almost $130.00/month with Walmart! Who can afford that??? I'm 74 & on a fixed income. :o(
It is now 78.00 which is still outrageous.
@@chir7460 not sure where you are, but just checked Walmart website & it is $129.98!!!!
If you buy six months at a time it’s about $60 something a month
SCALP BIOPSY PEOPLE!!! Had hair loss and itching. Finally I got a awesome dermatologist who did that and found i had inflammation on my scalp and a former of alpaca, was put on 3 month antibiotic to help with inflammation and a shampoo.
I still have flare up but not has bad. Was diagnosed with autoimmune too.
Its more expensive
Geez how about some time stamps doc. 5 minutes in before you start actually addressing the products.
The stuff she says in the beginning is pretty important. And she's a doctor so she cares about people knowing that stuff since some of it is safety info
Which one was better ?
Maybe if you weren’t rude you wouldn’t have to watch the video in the first place.
Tell us you are impatient without telling us you are impatient lol
The amount of time it took you to write that complaint comment, you could have just set up a time stamp comment.
Difficult to take advice on keeping your hair from someone that can't keep the leaves on their plant!
