My personal advice for the Milka chocolate bars: Put them into the refrigerator for at least 1 day. Then they not only taste better, but you don't have much problems with crumbles
What we did with Dickmanns when we were young: A Dickmanns on a sliced roll and then crushed in between. Secondly, put a Dickmanns in the microwave for a few seconds and then immediately eaten warm. Nougat has a lot more hazelnuts than Nutella and is also much more concentrated.
Nougat is basically cocoa paste, hazelnut paste and sugar. Marzipan is almond paste and sugar. When it comes to those, we really crank it up with the sweetness. But I've also come to like the Halloren fudge. They invented that stuff way back in the GDR as a cheap replacement, due to lack of resources, and it's still holding up after 35 years of capitalism
Any chocolate ahs to be better than American chocolate 😂 I remember having Milka chocolate here for a bit many years ago. Ive heard German pastries are spose to be the best so as a Kitchener Bun fan 9ironic history there), would be interesting to see what they are like. We knew some German migrants here that made the best waffles i've ever had! Also a video idea - How german like is Handorf actually!?
Correct! I've never been a fan of Hersheys! Germans definitely do bakeries, breads and pastries well that's for sure! Oh that's a great idea, I could film that/comparisons once I'm back home
It even says “Ost-Paket” on the box (7:24). So your boyfriend was right - it is themed East Germany.😄
Well there you go! :)

Oh interesting, I'll be sure to give that a try!
This package is not German themed, it is DDR themed! The items are mostly from the East German area.
Oh interesting, I thought something like that might be the case! Still a wonderful experience

So that's why it's so delicious!
"Flocken" means flakes. So the "Knusper Flocken" translate to crunchy flakes. The crunchy part ist made out of "Knäckebrot" wich is a very hard bread.
oh thank you! :)
