Honesty repairing write off motors selling them no problem but not telling them problems with insurance, resale value up to 50%off non write off don't help.
No mucking about is the way. No point trying to hoodwink buyers saying it's showroom when it's not, dishonest dealers always get found out and it comes back to bite them.
Guy reversed into my van in a lorry on a trading estate. Got out checked to see damage back doorstep all creased in. Had a look around and drove off. I didn’t notice when came out of wholesaler. Only noticed when got to job. Went back there at end of day. Asked wholesalers to see cctv. Wanker looked round on seeing what he hit to see if anyone noticed. I got name of company on van. Phoned them up. They suspended the guy as it’s not there policy, and they tell all drivers to report all bumps etc. Nice to see a company taking responsibility, and they sorted the van doors and sent me a voucher as goodwill gesture.
If I’d been lent a car and it got damaged whilst in my possession, no matter who by, then I’d feel obliged to return it in the condition it was lent to me. £50-£100 contribution from the family you lent it to would go some way to reducing your profit loss.
The amount of times I have had that sort of damage to my vehicles is ridiculous and as you say disgusting behaviour. Good to see a car dealer with honesty.
Rob you're word is your bond, I was a builder before retirement and I couldn't walk away from any job without feeling it was 100%. The site managers on every site I worked on said to the clerk of works that if he's walking off site finished his work then I'm happy because if you check it out you'll find it's the best you've seen, so I can see you're very much a perfectionist with you're work and that's why people come to you for cars, and as I said at the start as the old adage says once you're name is good then people will come to you and you won't have to go looking for work, love your posts rob and keep them coming
Rob your too hard on yourself, car looks great and perfect for a young driver. My wife is learning to drive she's 40 and this kind of car is perfect. Love these videos because they are cars that the normal person can afford.
Plus the cars have an insurance write-off category. I for one buying one of these would not be concerned with cosmetic imperfections so long as the vehicle was repaired (as Rob does) to an exceptional mechanical standard.
Rob, I think you’re quite hard on yourself with this one. The car is spot on other than the shade difference. I know you work on credibility all the time and can understand why you think the way you think. It was really good to see the fiat get completed though it was quite a bit of a repair job. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏴
To be honest Rob, I've been turning around 500s for a while myself and while the market on older Series 3 cars has dipped a bit, that grey Sport is easily worth your £2500 asking price. Its a tidy car thats been put back together right and while the paint might not be perfect that arguably makes it perfect for the first time driver that'd likely end up getting the keys. Love your work, great to see the detailed breakdowns, appreciate the videos; keep on lad.
Hi Rob, love the videos. I am a retired (retired 12 years now) 77 year old Ex HGV mechanic riddled with arthritis so have to content myself to being an "Armchair Mechanic" and watch you youngsters having all the fun. Absolutely love the way you keep a lovely clean and tidy workshop that's the only way I could work. I do enjoy when you do different things ie the Campervan, motorbikes and the Jetski, but would it be possible to have an update on Chris's cherrypicker engine I was really getting in to that.
Hi Rob, It's great to see a trader who cares about the vehicles sold. Reminds me of the time I bought a VW Fox as a go kart for town as I had a V8 Volvo XC90 and the fuel costs for short hops just wasn't economical. The dealer was so happy with the Fox that he said he'd happily put a 12 month warranty on it (One elderly owner, hardly any miles etc). A couple of months later a coil failed, the cost of getting the car the 20 or so miles recovered back to the dealer just didn't make any sense so I asked the dealer if he was happy to provide new coils and spark plugs at trade prices and post then which he honoured and paid for himself and I fitted myself in a matter of minutes. It's reassuring to see that there are traders who care about what they are selling both before they release a car for sale and go the extra mile if something does go wrong.
Only been watching your UA-cam videos two weeks, Really like what you guys are doing, I used to watch wheeler deallers and the old top gear, you are up with them even better as its real, please dont change anything that you do.
Please dont move away from repairing mr average·s cars, for the majority of viewers will never own a sports or executive vehicle .Keep up the varied content.
Rob , I'm a trucker and I run my motors until they die , then scrap them , so a bit of a paintwork defect or the odd little bump or scratch don't matter at all , a second hand motor is a second hand motor , but I appreciate that you boyz are perfectionists , brilliant vid as usual , take care bud 😉
You are a perfectionist and there is nothing wrong with that, especially when it comes to cars. I’m new to this channel and really enjoying it, more 90’s cars please 😝
Hi Rob. Lot of work has gone into the little Fiat 👍🏻 it’s an honest runaround for a first car so the slight paint in perfection shouldn’t matter as the mechanical side is sound 😀 So you deserve a profit 🤣
Wouldn't it be great, if this bloke had a nationwide franchise system. Knowing that every franchisee has the same principles as Rob, tell me, would you use them..?
Currently on the lookout on copart for my first rebuild, always helps watching your videos to gain abit more knowledge on what i’m getting myself into lol
Rob..mate alot of work in that one..No more Fiat's..ban them..! A little bit odd ball..works well for me..just finished another project here it is always very satisfying to get them finished all the best guys👍👍👍
Always a top bloke Rob with honesty at the core of your principles. With your social media exposure, lookslike your subscribers are queuing up to buy your motors....this time next year you could be a millionaire.....where have I heard that...
Thanks Rob, it's a nice little motor and been brought back to be used again, the stripe idea is good and I think it's a safe good car for someone. Take care and all the best. Stevie
for a 7 year old car, its in really good condition Rob, and you've both done a great job on it....don't put it down, as ive seen plenty worse, lol.I'm sure some young lady would love it for a 1st car.i think £2995 would be a good price.
Well mate, I'm just back from a holiday in Weymouth not had chance to watch while I was away, so done it tonight copart walk around and camper van was great to see and the fiat 500 again was great to see, I expect you'll be glad once that has gone but in full working order and looks, great content mate now I'm back I can keep up.
4:50, A good dashcam, a friend who made a little computer that uses the reverse sensors and a pressure sensor in the bumpers, doors, and fenders, and a train horn ensure that people leave info. Some kid backed into my car and I heard the train horn alarm going off from across town.
Rob you deserve a bit more profit than that, the car looks great and would be perfect for a young person learning to drive, it would be their pride and joy. Keep up the good work
Honesty is the best policy and if you tell the truth you don't have to remember. Rob you are too good but that's why we love you. Aussie Mustang owner :-)
Hi rob my pet hate are people who knock or bump your car and then drive off. My mrs beetle was smacked in a park and ride and the lovely person just drove off. Karma, another great video lads.
3:50 nice idea on the graphics, your doing nothing wrong with that idea, making it look more lovely due to someone else's inability to paint professionally. great vid .....
2500?! That's bloody cheap mate you're a breath of fresh air. Subscribed. Love your channel mate. I'm in Sittingbourne I'll hit you up bud when I need another car
Another great video Rob I had forgotten all about the fiat. They are becoming so hard to buy at the right price damaged these days. Look forward to what you and Chris will be doing next.
Rob White van man strikes again, your cool about that dent and poor Chris has run out of miracles and that dark colour hard to match nice interior keep up the good videos lads
Nice one, Rob & Chris. Cheapest Fiat 500 in the UK on autotrader, after having a complete resto! I know you don't like the cosmetics, but focus on the value, its awesome. 👍👏😄
Hi Rob, another great video, the 500 is finished, nice to see the decals when you have it back,it will be smart, annoying about the wing it is a nice looking car.
£500/700 profit with the amount off effort is well worth it,would like you to put the man hours that people don’t see,I trade caravans & with that amount off effort & man hours you should at least see a £1000 but totally appropriate your honesty keep them coming mate
Someone will get a great first car or second commuter car. Love the fact your are straight up with everyone ! Car actually looks very nice! It will sell in short order ! 🇨🇦👍
coil pack i worked at a motor factor and we sold coil packs for these by the truck load we would get them by the pallet load so grab your scanner and figure out which is the offender and get yourself a valeo 245104 job done
Hi rob and Chris another great video and let’s hope you make good profit on the fait 500 and hope you are staying safe and well and another interesting to see the tyres and tracking being done
Sorry Rob it didn't work out quite as well as expected but as you know you can't win them all, it made for good content though but I know you are a perfectionist at heart and things like this must grate a little. Good work as always, onward and upward as they say.
rob don't beat yourself up it's not a new car and you and chris turn them around to such a nice safe little runner for someone on a budget car looks so nice well done where the update on cosy and lse:)
It's been a while but glad to see it finished apart from the new stickers, would be nice to see at least a picture of it when it is all done, there's plenty of 500s with graphics so it will finish it off and hide the blend a treat 👍
What a shame about the paint job.I just love the fact that yourself and Chris are so honest. Can you show us the graphics when you get them done. Also can you let us know what is causing the engine management light to come on in the Clio.Just stick it into another video even at the end of a future R ange Rover video.
I wouldn't blame her for it to be honest. There's so many unscrupulous people about who hit and run it's just not worth the bother potentially upsetting her/Rob's friend
It's not the kid's fault. I had a two day old car dented by the postman at work. Royal Mail only paid out because we had CCTV footage from 2 angles. There are a lot of scumbags about.
At the end of the day it's a car it can get fixed.the poor girl is probably mortified that the damage occurred when she had it.the only one at fault is the person who done the damage.but that's a poor fact of modern life.
Wish all dealers & seller’s followed your code of honesty !!
Great Video Rob 👍

I subscribed for the motorhome videos and now I am hooked . This is a great channel and the presentation is nice and relaxed to watch 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's a slippery slope you know...
You will be like me and get withdrawal symptoms 😉

Rob and Chris, you are both true salvage wizards. Really great to see cars getting back on the road again

yes
We need more dealers like you in my town, the amount of times my dad has been scammed with cars is ridiculous
Great video Rob , I’m sure every one watching your meticulous work would have no second thoughts of buying a motor off you 👍
lovely little car , great work , wish all dealers were like you . honest and cared about their cars
You're a good man Rob. It's refreshing to see a dealer/mechanic that tests cars and is proud to put his name on it. Keep up the good work.
Enjoyed that serious myself, little bit of everything in there, thanks guys
You are a perfectionist and there is nothing wrong with that, especially when it comes to cars. I’m new to this channel and really enjoying it, more 90’s cars please 😝
Every now and then you do something and think I have had enough, I know this was yours great content as usual 👍👍
Lovely to see that you get upset when the work you do is not up to standard, it shows you care and that’s rare these days! Keep it up !! 👍
It will still be a nice run around for someone mate and you've priced it fairly.
Your a nice chap and the old adage “ you broke it so you fix it “ should apply !
Nice one Rob.
two honest mechanics these days is a rarity keep up the great channel mate from an ex pomme in New Zealand

Rob, start the revolution...!
It doesn't scale so easily as it is all depending on the individual.
Currently on the lookout on copart for my first rebuild, always helps watching your videos to gain abit more knowledge on what i’m getting myself into lol
Aww, great video. Even paint imperfections and slight dent in arch, worth £2500 all day long 😍 well done 😎
Total respect for your honesty rob, I hope you get the price you need from the car and the graphics is a good idea.
Rob..mate alot of work in that one..No more Fiat's..ban them..! A little bit odd ball..works well for me..just finished another project here it is always very satisfying to get them finished all the best guys👍👍👍
Great honesty Rob 👏 shame about wee car paint finishing, need more people with your integrity 👌

Good idea about the graphic. Very interested in these videos redoing cars, and giving us the details and the costs.
you seem like a really honest guy rob ,nice to sse
Doing a great job guys and honesty is a great virtue for your reputation
Cracking idea with the graphics but what about having it done in red same shade as the writing on centre caps
Some projects are a ball ache from start to finish Rob just the way life goes.
Enjoyed the vid as always.
Another top job done Rob another car back to life.

On my word, I don’t even like Fiat 500s but that is a gift at that price, all of a sudden, I love Fiat 500s
Great video Rob, thanks for being totally honest, hope all goes well with the little Fiat..
Well worth the asking price Rob. Lovely little car! 👍

Rob enjoying all your videos you post on here so keep up the good works
I’d be getting your mate you lent it to to get the dent sorted rob! Seems only fair to me.🧐
Love your content boys
Nice one, Rob & Chris. Cheapest Fiat 500 in the UK on autotrader, after having a complete resto! I know you don't like the cosmetics, but focus on the value, its awesome. 👍👏😄
The decal down the side is a great idea as long as it's not too gaudy
Hi Rob, another great video, the 500 is finished, nice to see the decals when you have it back,it will be smart, annoying about the wing it is a nice looking car.
Imapretty good judge of people and you and Chris are true gents thanks for all the videos cheers Stephen

Yes nice idea about the line down the side
Personally you deserve every last penny on the fiat, must say very positive attitude keep it up Rob & Chris keep them rolling in!!👏🏽👏🏽💯
Good buy for a starter! Well done!
It was a plug 👍
Shame about the paint, great idea with decals. Its still an ideal car for someone. Great to see you and chris don't compromise on your standards.
that's what i like about you Rob you are very fussy on your cars and honest
hi rob another great video, paintwork is a nightmare a lot harder than people think, too many things to go wrong.
Cheers Rob & Chris not a happy ending for the a fiat but still a good little run around for a shopper.
my friends daughter is keen on it Rob first car
Love this channel, great work as always
Hi rob and Chris another great video and let’s hope you make good profit on the fait 500 and hope you are staying safe and well and another interesting to see the tyres and tracking being done
I'm sure the numbers will be right, however this one seemed to involve a fair bit of work. Not a drive way repair job
The little fiat looks great, well done Governor.
Always good to see a new video 👍🏻
It's been a while but glad to see it finished apart from the new stickers, would be nice to see at least a picture of it when it is all done, there's plenty of 500s with graphics so it will finish it off and hide the blend a treat 👍
made me laugh when you said good ridance. great story over the months you had that Fiat 500. great videos by the way.
Short but a quality video thanks again , keep safe 👍🏻
gunmetal detail will look nice on that car, nice subtle touch
Hi Robb I would do the stripe in a red to meet up with the tail lights and wheel caps.Great video yet again 👍
What a shame about the paint job.I just love the fact that yourself and Chris are so honest. Can you show us the graphics when you get them done. Also can you let us know what is causing the engine management light to come on in the Clio.Just stick it into another video even at the end of a future R ange Rover video.
I hear your frustration on that one. It did look quite badly damaged, but ultimately a 13 plate at 2 and a half a good price. Great video by the way👍
Very honest job done
Need a motorbike next loved last one.
Keep up hard work
Love to see a video of a bumper or a car panel being sprayed 👍🏻
Such a great video, wish I could buy one of your cars, your so honest.
Thank God for that finally done with a good old number crunch😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
honesty is admirable
You should sell it to the lady who you lent it to and who parked it when it was damaged...she needs a car...and then she can get it fixed.
@DJT MAGA he helped his mate out. Its robs responsibility. He aint gunna upset his mate over it. Thats life. Wasnt the girls fault was it
At the end of the day it's a car it can get fixed.the poor girl is probably mortified that the damage occurred when she had it.the only one at fault is the person who done the damage.but that's a poor fact of modern life.
Great work as always chaps
