  • We’re hitting the road in our vintage camper van RV and traveling to all 50 states in 50 weeks! 🌎 We successfully made it out of Texas and to our first state: Oklahoma. We stayed at an amazing camp site in Talimena State Park, drove the Talimena Scenic drive and didn’t break down at all in the process! We’re so excited to finally be on the road in the RV and see everything our country has to offer 😍

I am so glad that somebody is doing a trip across the US and going to all 50 states. I know Kara & Nate had started one and then they stopped it I imagine they’re overseas instead. But I’d love to see all the things there are to do in our own country. Thanks again for doing this series!!😁

Love your channel! You might want to consider getting a good surge protector that plugs into the camp site pedestal. Surges are very common and can "zap" your system.

I’ve been so happy watching you renovate Clementine. I had the same RV growing up. I am really concerned about one thing- the lock on the back door. After putting the original door back in, you have the easiest lock to pick. My father was a photographer and had all of his photography equipment stolen while we were on a hike. Please put a deadbolt on that door and maybe even some slide bolts on the front doors. I would hate to see someone ruin all of your hard work. Sending you lots of positive vibes and incredible adventures ahead!

Looks like a fun albeit hot trip. I think a good idea to "tick" each state, is to have at least one restaurant/food experience, one museum, and more importantly one "nature" camping spot at a state park or national park or national forest... Coz the point of this trip (I'm guessing) is to discover states, for you and for us. And I'm super curious what natural beauties there is to see in states that we don't associate with nature at all, like Oklahoma, Nebraska or New Jersey.

    • @Skittl1321

New Jersey is named the garden state. There is plenty of nature to be found there. Just get off the turnpike!

Great suggestions. Trying local foods is definitely going to be a top priority from now on. Museums are great too, but we find that a lot of times they don't want you filming so it gets a bit tricky. Either way, here's to discovering hidden treasures together 😍

I do appreciate that you discuss that this was not a real look at Oklahoma. Missing the American Indian and cowboy history is a real shame. I did like that you showed a part of the state that not many, including myself, have seen. I realize that it is impossible to do all 50 states justice but when I saw you were starting in Oklahoma I got super excited and am sort of sad that your viewers are not getting to learn and see more.

Oh boy. That Canadian van trip is one we talk about all the time. Sadly I don't know that Clementine would be up for it, but we definitely need another Banff road trip in our lives. 😍 And don't worry too much, we'll be putting the trip on pause and doing a bit of international travel in the fall. Not sure if we'll get to the UK during that stint, but maybe that'll be our next road trip destination after the US!?!! We'll go crash with the Travel Beans in their van for a bit. 😊 Thanks so much for the comment. So glad you're enjoying the adventures 🙌

Here is a tip to help cool down the cab and engine. When you stop for the night, or a rest, open the hood so heat can escape from the engine. Also, get camping fire starter sticks at Walmart to help start your fires.

Congratulations on ticking off the 1st state on your year-long trip! I, too, didn’t think there was much to Oklahoma, but it is beautiful. One thing I hope you can add is maybe eating the state food or sandwich or dessert or something, whatever that state is known for. Would be a nice touch in showing off the state. Also, you can get those little fans that plug into a USB port for Ruby so you’re more comfortable driving around or one of those small, portable a/c units for about $50 that cool an area really fast (also USB powered). Good start though.

Thank you for being so positive, so fun, and just great people! Yes, I think you can make it to all of the states! If you find yourself in Colorado greater Denver/Colorado Springs/Fort Collins area before school starts (mid august), I hope you'd do some kind of meet and greet. I'd be there! And if you go to Alaska (GO! My favorite place on the planet), I'd HIGHLY recommend going to Icy Strait Point to whale watch with Glacier Wind Charters...not affiliated, just had an amazing time with them a couple of weeks ago. Stay hydrated! I’ll be staying in SoCal next to the Pacific for most of the summer, with a trip up to Seattle in July…my kind of summer climates. Those beautiful views, the awesome little scratch map, no car problems, the grand bee escape of '22 AND a BEAR sighting! I was a bit worried when the first words that appeared on the screen after joking about getting food poisoning were "A few hours later" (ie I thought you were gonna say... oh yeah, the grilled chicken wasn't cooked enough, we are violently ill- which would be doubly horrible to experience together in an RV :/ ) buuutt... NOPE, thankfully it was not that at all but a dang bear! How cool :) Great job with those aerial shots too! That opening sequence going across the bridge was amazing. I was bummed that the RV Reno stuff was coming to an end but your energy for this trip is just so infectious that I am 100% on board for the next stage now! :) See u on the road ;-)

Pretty much any shop can work on or fix your AC. You might just need freon that you can buy from an auto parts store for $30. Yay, you're on your way!

We wish it was that simple. Sadly the lines were hooked up incorrectly so even if we recharge, it leaks out too fast. But we finally have a shop lined up in MO to fix it once and for all 🙌

Try a 90 for your at camper water hookup. Relieves wear and tension on your water hook up connection at the RV. Also. Be sure to hit East Fork State Park and Hocking Hills State Park when you get to Ohio. Both have beautiful camp grounds. Hocking Hills has beautiful trails and scenery. Grab some BBQ at 32Q when you get to East Fork.

I’m so happy to see you will be taking the ferry across Lake Michigan.
There’s a really cute German town in Wisconsin called New Glarus. They have a Wisconsin exclusive beer called Spotted Cow. It is only sold in Wisconsin and it’s really tasty.

You 2 are TOOOOOOOO cute... BUT I have to say... There are only 48 states for you to drive through unless you are catching a boat or 2 OR driving 11 hrs a day for 14 days straight to get to Alaska... ENJOY... BE SAFE & Make some memories...

The scatch off map is a good idea! You should write the date on the state when you visit. Yay you guys are finally on the road again! The scenic drive in Oklahoma looks amazing. I did not know they have mountains there. The bugs are crazy right now. My husband was stung by a wasp on our road trip. On the next stop in GA I got stung by a wasp. It was crazy and more painful than I remembered.

Amazing y'all came through oklahoma... I am a 4th generation Okie.. What is the big deal with your A/C in the front of your RV the are super easy to rebuild, build, restore etc... I am building a modern A/C system in a 1976 Dodge chinook RV I am restoring... BTW Oklahoma in the summer is hot like hades, because of the humidity.. and you were actually in the coolest part of the state.... Altus, OK in the SW is so much hotter....
