As someone who was born and still living in Kansas…Thank you for making our state look so good. We’ve been trying to keep it a secret 🤫. You were so close to the Coronado Heights Castle. This is the furthest North that Coronado journeyed for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold. It’s just a little bit outside of Lindsborg. So much to do and see in Kansas that people just don’t realize. If you’re bored then you’re not looking very hard for something cool to do.
I am a lifelong Kansan and I love this state. It's not traditionally beautiful, but it has its own unique beauty. Thank you for visiting and highlighting our state!
Nice how the camper van in the opening cartoon reflects the rental. Nice touch and attention to detail. I hope Clementine will be fixed soon, however I bet you are enjoying the AC.
The more videos I watch and the more bills I pay each month are REALLY pushing me towards van life(or RV life!). Everything I see gives me ideas for a van build out!!!
Before you start a vanlife my biggest tip is practice if you are comfortable using a composting toilet or relying on public restrooms Sleeping in areas that sometimes have high traffic even at midnight because it can be loud And most importantly how much you are willing to pay for modern comforts I love living in my 16ft caravan, while it is small i have a double shower/toilet tent for outside and a portable gas hot water system, a 450amp battery system (agm so 225 usable amps) and 600w of solar to run my ps5,tv, residential 231liter(60gallons) fridge/freezer and pedestal fan, this is my tiny home as i build my second house and didn't want to rent in this disgusting market
Long time watchers- first time commenters here! We've loved following along with y'all the last 3 years and just wanted to say thank you for the videos! We look forward to them every week and you two have even inspired us to follow our dreams of full time travel. Thank you for always making us laugh and inspiring us to travel- Cheers!
So, I definitely used the "get out of Dodge" line when I worked at Chrysler dealership in high school. Also, Wichita is home to Cessna & Beechcraft, so you can says it's home some some... great planes! Lastly, you guys seem to be the last travel channel I follow that hasn't gone vegan, so your videos actually make me hungry when you show your food! 😂😂
This is one of the best videos that I've watched in a long time. You did an awesome job of showing interesting things that Kansas has to offer. Continue using the same magic as you take us along on your journey across this country. I hope Clementine and Ruby will be back with you soon. Safe travels.
It’s great to see you two traveling and eating real food. Every other traveling couples on UA-cam are either just doing challenges and turned vegan. Keep it up guys.
Kansas tourism should be using your video in their state information guide. I mean seriously I drove through Kansas about 10 years ago and all I remember were miles and miles of fields and wind turbines. I'm definitely going back and taking my time and will be using your video as a guide.
Welcome to my hometown (Wichita) and state. I love how you hit some more off the beaten path spots. Next time you’re in town, check out the Nifty Nuthouse; a unique and historic candy shop. And I’d love to make you some Kansas backyard bbq! Love your videos and how you portrayed our state.
👏 Bravo! That was one of the best vlogs I've seen from you over the last 2+ years. Content, canvas, flow, and editing were highly enjoyable. Thanks for taking us along.
This was an absolute gem of a video! I've never wanted to actually visit Kansas, until now! You two darlin's have really come into your own, making some of the best travel vlogs available! Allison, you looked so adorable in your sundress and floppy sun hat out in the sunflower fields!🌻🌻🌻
Wow, great video! I started following because of your DR videos. I actually grew up in Lindsborg and my parents still live there - so I appreciate you highlighting my hometown and home state! Many do not realize it's actually a great state and hidden gem.
Super excited to see you give my homestate an actual experience. You went to my hometown of Wichita I've been to that museum, it was a lovely small museum. I haven't lived in KS for just shy of 10 years, but part of me misses home.
This is your first video I've seen. Kansas is my adopted home state since I moved here when I was 9 so my father could work in aviation. Wichita is the Air Capital of the world. Your videos are very professionally done and you both are charming. You have highlighted many of the parts of the state I have seen but you evidently didn't try to eat any bison & missed out! Something I enjoyed seeing was the original Laura Ingalls tiny cabin near Independence, KS when they settled here in "Indian Territory". I was a big fan of the "Little House" books. I was startled to see your skyline of Wichita with the Exploration Place architecture in it. It looked amazing. I am still finding new & unexpected places to visit here. The Flint Hills and Manhattan, KS are very beautiful as are the hilly forested areas in SE KS. I saw my first ever mountain lion at Tuttle Creek Reservoir near Manhattan last year. I may have to check out the Little Jerusalem badlands some time. Yes, the "Arkansaw River" becomes the "Arkansas" River pronunciation-wise in Kansas. I still can't get used to that and a few other Kansas-isms here.
One of the other main things that Kansas is famous for besides Dodge City and the stockyards of Wichita (which has a museum also) is aviation. Most of your major aircraft companies got their start in Wichita Kansas, and of course there's an Air Force Base there as well. It was because of the flat ground that they're able to do a lot of testing in Kansas throughout the history of flight. Having said that in Wichita you missed going to the "Kansas Aviation Museum".
I was born 71 years ago in Wichita, my parents were working at Boeing to earn some family startup cash. I’ve come almost full circle, Leavenworth has been my home now for 28 years. This channel has made me want to explore Kansas a lot more.
This is yet again an other fine example of why we should travel and explore the sights of USA !!! 🇺🇸 This is awesome, I enjoyed the sun flower fields. The day is not complete without a BBQ meal... Thanks for sharing 👍 Be safe and healthy. Enjoy... Toledo.
My family and I travel through Kansas several times a year to visit our kids and grandkids in Cincinnati from 4 Corners New Mexico. We just blaze through never knowing what there is to do there. We even time it to where we do dinner and grab a room in Dodge City. I didn't know there were apps and sites to see what to explore in different states. THANK YOU!
Yep! The state Arkansas is named from the French pronunciation of the local natives. The river and the stat of Kansas are named from the native pronunciation. So it is, indeed, the Ar-Kansas River.
This was so awesome you guys! Thank you. I never really thought about taking a vacation to Kansas but now I think I will! Excited for the other states!
LOVED the intro! You guys have the best sense of humour 😂😂 The badlands look awesome! and yes you would totally fit in in the wild Wild West! The sunflower field is so pretty! Great vlog guys!
Thanks for showing how cool and fun Kansas is! I lived 45 minutes from Dodge City in my younger years and there is SO much to see and do in Kansas!! AND the sunsets there are just gorgeous! Definitely a hidden gem. Loving the RV series 🙂.
You guys travel around with such joy which makes your vlogs very easy to watch and enjoy. We’ve done Route 66 and would love to get back over to see more of country USA.🇦🇺
Love Kansas. Lived in independence, KS from 1979-1983. If you’re ever there at Halloween, check out Independence’s festival called Neewallah. Great memories. Wish I was there.
Thanks for sharing so many interesting parts of Kansas that we were unaware of. Those Swedish meatballs and noodles brought back memories of my Swedish Grandma and Great Grandma. Today we had to settle for the ones at Ikea, yours looked much tastier.
Another great/enjoyable video guys. Love that you are adventurous in trying foreign cuisine as you did when you came to Britain, nice open minded touch. I hope the buffalo make a full population recovery and all native species all over the world. Excellent trip, stay safe . Love this channel . Best wishes from Britain 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
ooh, didn't know they had been to the UK... I stumbled upon their videos last week, they struck me as a down to earth couple who don't take themselves too seriously and seem to have more of a British sense of humour/silliness. Will look out for that video but I am enjoying the motorhome adventures for now.
Thanks guys. Kansas is one of the states l really want to visit, especially Badlands and Dodge City. That bbq was calling out to me too Thanks again and see you on the next one!
Lindsborg reminds me of Solvang in central/southern California only it’s Danish. It’s bigger than Lindsborg. You can spend a whole day there walking around. Great restaurants, art galleries, amazing Danish pastries.
I've been to Bad Lands National Park in South Dakota. I didn't know that there was a version in Kansas. Loved Allison listing all the "good" things on the Magnet... Tornadoes 🌪
Fantastic to see you traveling through my home state of Kansas! I have lived in Topeka, the State’s Capitol all my life. I wish you could have toured the Capitol building, as it was fully renovated and has a great visitors center. Thanks for sharing so many of the great places to see in Kansas! I hope you’ll come back real soon!
You missed a few sights - Eisenhower Museum, Seelye Mansion, Dalton Gang Hide out, Hutchinson Salt Mines, Longest grain elevator, and maybe one or two of the aircraft factories that justify Wichita as the Air Capital. You walked down Douglas, but the historic scene is after dark when folks Drag Douglas. Not like it was in the 60's, but occasionally the Wichita folks get together to relive those times. Thanks for promoting a state that often only is known for tornados and high winds that push RVs around on Interstate 70.
Crazy to realize you guys were just 10 miles south of where I live! I went to high school in Lindsborg. :) I also lived in Dodge City for 3 years post-college. So happy you guys enjoyed Kansas!
Ya! My time in Norway and Sweden it was always cabbage with potatoes. Never any noodles. I was told it was because they hate Italian food and noodles were Italian. Very interesting. Even the pizza had a caraway cream sauce. Never Italian.

I’m in Switzerland this week for vacation. It’s absolutely amazing and FILLED with cornfields, sunflower fields, and vineyards. Awesome views from the trains.
New subsciber here. I found you on a Travel Beans episode. I have a idea for an upcoming episode for you. I know that Illinois deservedly gets a bad rap but the Southern tip of the state is quite beautiful and you could do a whole episisode on the Shawnee National Forest alone. Look up Pine Hills, Pomona Natural Bridge, Alto Pass (lots of wineries), Giant City State Park, Garden of the Gods, Cave In Rock, Shawneetown, etc. I grew up in Anna and we're close enough to Poplar Bluff that we shared a TV station (KFVS-12). My parents, sisters, and nieces still live down there but I won't visit until fall since I hate hot weather. I'd rather spend my summers here in Wisconsin. I also have plenty of WI tips for you, especially in the Driftless Region.
I reallllly loved the intro!!! goes to show how creative and thought out you two really are. Clever! Excited to get back to Clementine and hopefully cooler temps! 🤗
And how can someone look at a mummy and not talk about and acknowledge how disgusting it is that they have been stolen from egypt and just displayed for peoples amusement.
Loved your video, my husband was born in Dodge city Kansas he missed MR. Dillan and Chester, 🤗he was born in 1922 in Ford county Kansas , ( Dodge city, loved going through there with you guys, 🥵
We also just went to the Tallgrass Prarie Reserve when we went back to Kansas for the summer. And we tried to figure out if bison and buffalo are the same, but I guess they are actually different due to body shape haha. It was so cool to see them. Glad you enjoyed it.
Gotta say, I'm impressed that you updated your opening title animation to reflect the current van you're using. Nice to see ongoing work for struggling graphic artists :)

There are several cool things you missed, I hope you come back to explore again. Monument Rocks is super cool. Have a safe and wonderful trip 😊

Haha! If you go, definitely take i-70 through the north and stop at every little town along the way! It's beautiful up in the Flint Hills 😍
Kansas isn’t so bad! I’ve lived here all my life and it’s lovely!
If you enjoy the flint hills the best route is 335 and then 35 south from Topeka to Wichita. It’s a lovely drive.

There are several cool things you missed, I hope you come back to explore again. Monument Rocks is super cool. Have a safe and wonderful trip 😊
Dress looks amazing on Allison.
You've made me want to visit Kansas. I can't see what y'all do with Nebraska!
10 out of 10 for this one guys. XX
