Damn that’s a gorgeous mixer. I have about 20 various rack effects with two separate patch bays………..the amount of chords needed for a studio like that is just insane Good job
I Love your set up! I have a similar configuration on my Wheatstone 40 Channel. Your Console really makes your home studio top notch. Love the channel man great job setting up a little slice of paradise. I also have the Orban 622b and 672a great little units.
That really makes sense. Nothing new to me, but it's good to watch and listen from start to the end how you do that! I use matrix outs to record the mix to my Cubase. I don't have much outboard gear like you have, but I use mainly reverbs and delays as my outboard. Please don't stop, do more of your videos! One thing that I want to try: like you send your recorded signal back to the console. I do it only when I mix it finally after all balanced in my DAW. Maybe I should load tracks straight to mixing console channels and treat them in DAW while they are balanced on the console... Thanks again! I have A&H GL2800 in my studio.
Mic's or instruments to XLR in. DIRECT OUT to DAW D/A converter. Out DAW A/D converter to LINE, switched by key line/pad, record or mixing. Main mix XLR to master D/A. Master A/D out to monitor controller is mixing
That Allen Heath looks awesome Ive got the Mackie 32.8 Bus and I had the SoundCraft LX7 II I am not really hearing a big diffrence between these "Mid Level Mixing Consoles" Thinking A TAC, SoundCraft Ghost or Cranborne 500 Series Setup might be my next Move
Mark, I appreciate the videos that you do on your hybrid set up. I have a question. I am considering taking my studio back to a analog mixing console. I grasp the understanding of how you have your set up, and I like that because I have outboard gear as well and the patchbay. My question would be, how would I throw a Aviom in your system into this set up.
@@HunterStudios21 Ok i understand. I would run an out from an aux send to the in of the aviom that way what ever channel signals you want to feed the in ear system will be able to see signal
I don't quite get it with all those rack units. Compressors, EQs, reverb and all that other stuff, can't you do that in the DAW itself? Why do you need all the units for?
hello! could you please guide me, i am a newbie. I have a gl3800-32 channel. you showed how to include the compressor in insert 1 and 2 channels. but how to turn on the compressor, equalizer and for example exciter (3 at once) also in one stereo channel 1 and 2? Thanks!
@@marksmusicplace3627 Sir, and if it's not difficult for you, answer me. I'm looking into my gl3800 console at the moment and I'm in a panic. how can i enable a solo on a stereo pair? when you turn on the PFL sounds mono! how do i leave it in stereo and listen to it solo separately? how do you include in the solo yourself, when the rest of the channels play in full? Much appreciated for your answer!
just make sure you run outputs from a the stereo out or mixbus channels out of the console into the input channels of your interface. make sure you select the mic and audio of your computer to use the interface as the audio card and not the factory audio in the PC/Mac you should get audio the minute you select LR or the group output, whatever you chose to run the outputs from the console to the interface. You shoold see signal from there.
@@marksmusicplace3627 Sorry I’m not too technical. My purpose is to do Facebook live straight from the mixer to the iPhone to get a quality sound. In my research found that use quarter inch to head phone jack cable, connected to the monitor out please advise.
BTW - I love your GL3300 it looks beautiful. Seems like 2800 is pretty close to 3300.. But even with my 2800 32-8 I have a problem with space in my control room even if I have different rooms for recording and controlling, cause the space it self not so big = 26 m2
if your wondering about the digital audio workstation DAW in the computer itself. I use several. Cakewalk by Bandlab, Studio One, Harrison Mixbus, Reaper, cubase, mixcraft 9 and a few more

Good job
You one of the only UA-camrs on here that explains this . Other UA-camrs act like they don’t know or just lazy as hell to explain this.
Well done and fun to watch an engineer at work....I like that drum groove too...

I'm late to your video and channel but it's perfect. Just got a gl2400 32 and this video helped a bunch. Great work!
Thank you Mark. That was very helpful! I will be looking out for the mixing setup. This really helped clear some things up for me.
Nice nice. Thanks for the tour and demo. All makes sense and leaves you open for changes at any point along the way.

Great video. Does the effects sound great on the ML5000?
Awesome studio!
can i just ask why you have such a large mixing desk?
Does the console have a built in interface and you just by pass it to use your antelope?

Hola amigo, cuánto vale esta consola? Gracias gracias😊
depende. el precio es depende solamente por el vendedor. por ejemplo. posible $1000 mil dolares por un vendedor y un otro se vende por $2500.
That desk wouldnt fit in my house. I need a bigger house, tidy up those leads 😅, my spot is way worse, cups and rubber ducks all over the place.
