All Together Now, released in 1972, was the third album recorded by British rock band Argent. It was Argent's first hit album and features their most successful single "Hold Your Head Up," which reached number five in both the U.K. and U.S. singles charts. Other featured songs include "Tragedy," "I Am the Dance of Ages" and "He's a Dynamo."
The 1997 compact disc re-release of All Together Now by KOCH Records features an additional seven tracks not included on the original seven-track vinyl record. The bonus tracks include "God Gave Rock and Roll to You", one of Argent's best-known songs due to the popular cover/remake by Kiss. In 2009, for their reunion, Mr. Big recorded a cover of "Hold Your Head Up" and played it throughout the tour.
In the Q & Mojo Classic Special Edition Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, the album came thirty-third in its list of "40 Cosmic Rock Albums".
Ringo Starr's All Starr Band the greatest super band of all time
Wow.. considering Rod Argent is not the vocalist of Argent... he does a VERY admirable job.
Sorry I'm late! Rod was the lead vocalist of the Zombies before choosing to concentrate on his (excellent) keyboard playing when Colin Blunstone joined. He has form.
Colin Blunstone doesn't do a bad job either with the reformed Zombies, ua-cam.com/video/Cm1nG5W5llo/v-deo.html
@@tonykilleen8387 Just had a look on wikki. seems like Colin was there from the start
@@tonykilleen8387 According to legend, he asked Colin Blunstone to be lead vocalist with the Zombies. Rod Argent was multi-talented but never acted out of ego.
Billy Squier's guitar playing is fabulous here, such a haunting sound....lovin' it! A fabulous song written by Rod Argent, and played to perfection with Billy Squier:)
actually the song was written by Chris White..but he shared song writing credits with Rod..
Rod freely admits this.
@@ronluckenbach9492 I know Rod and Chris wrote alot of Argent's songs but wasn't this a Russ Ballard song?
Shame I lost the album
@@g8ymw lt was actually written solely by Chris White..but writing credits were shared by Rod and Chris.. but only Russ could have pulled off those astounding vocals. 😊
@@ronluckenbach9492 Yes, I stand corrected
Edgar is a master musician-he rocks the whole thing
Alas, I missed a chance to see the Zombies in Exeter earlier this year, thinking I would catch up later in the tour. Sadly, Rod suffered a stroke least week, and has permanently retired from touring. I wish him well, a quick recovery, and long and happy life.
OMG what incredible keyboard solos.
Great Song
Great Band
Rod's voice is great\
I saw the band Argent perform live in Gaelic Park ,in the Bronx ,NYC back in Aug 1971. They played Hold Your Head Up and God Gave Rock & Roll to you. They did around a 45 min set. The thing I remembered the most about Rod Argent that day, was that he had long wavy hair about mid-back level, and he was weaving back and forth over the organ and his hair was just flying I the breeze. Also on the bill was Blue Oyster cult, tiny Alice, Flash, the Jeff Beck Groupand at least 4 moreact
Interesting. I saw a similar show in Saratoga, NY that year. There were about six bands on the bill, although the only one I clearly remember (besides Argent) was Ian Lloyd & Stories ("Brother Louie"). At that time, I didn't even realize that Rod had been a Zombie. I think it was a promotional tour by a record company to sell new acts. They must have switched bands in and out. I wish I still had the orange t-shirt with the band names on it that they gave out. I'm pretty sure the tickets were free, too.
Rod really has a nice voice!
I agree. For several years, he let Colin handle the vocal. Let's face it; Colin has a far better voice (better now than ever!), but it's Argent's big hit and I'm glad he's singing it again with The Zombies.
Russ Ballard sang the Argent hit, better than Colin or Rod ever did it.
@@davidchavers5881 Yes...that's why Russ Ballard is Russ Ballard....he was AWESOME with Argent....on vocals...and...guitar.
ringo on drums
Rd did an admirable job of hitting those crazy high notes in his 60’s originally sung by Russ Ballard when he was in his 20’s..
don’t know if there was a chord range drop to accommodate Rods vocal range..
but who cares..he rocked it.. his keyboard flawless and intriguing..
just wish they would of showed a bit Of Sheila E on the drums.
I'm currently in a car and can't say for sure, but this sounds like the original key
Keyboard gods.
Need I say it ?......yes.....Fucking AWESOME
Great video. Never really heard Rod sing before, apart from a little bit with the zombies. He sounds really good. Great song too
Rod is great
Rod Argent is the man !!!!
Is that the great Hamish Stuart on bass guitar........? Caught his band during Jazz Fest at the Rio Club" in the Fruitmarket in bonnie Glesca toon.. Must be one of the finest gigs have seen in a long time if you get the opperchancity to catch them don't miss out...... ) thanks Ringo.....love 'n peace man.....
No, It's not Hamish Stuart on bass. It's a very rare appearance of Piers Morgan. He was just fired from CNN and needed a gig.
It is for sure Hamish Stuart on bass.
Smokin' organ solo!
Excellent live version !
Rod Argent does a better "Hold Your Head Up" with Colin Blunstone & the Zombies.
Yeah, but this is still pretty cool.
Saw this Tour at Westbury LI NYC. Great collection of talent!
Yeah that organ solo was so tasty, Rod can always be relied on for the great keys solo.
musterionsurly That is Edgar Winter on second Keyboard
are you sure? i thought it was Billy Preston :P
@@musterionsurly haha!
Rod.
Shredding.
Still got the Prog.
Wow don't they sound great!
Saw Rod with The Zombies night before last in Hallandale Beach, FL-awesome show!
Check what Richie´s doing!! what a cool drumming!!!!!!!! the greatest
edgar winter, sheila E. amazing group
Kevin O'Brien ringo puts together awesome super groups
a voice
I just wonder what conversations went on between Rod Argent and Edgar Winter during this tour, There must have been mutual respect between them.
Thanks for sharing the info Sherry, that Flash has recorded a new CD; I'll have to check it out. I also saw Flash in Dec.1972 at the old Capitol Theatre in Passaic NJ . Also on the bill were Chuck Berry, Flo & Eddie(formerly of Turtles, and Mothers of Invention). There were a few other bands, but I don't recall who. Jeff Bwas over an Hr. and 1/2 late, It was getting close to 11;00, and we didn't want to get stuck in the Bronx, so we caught the subway & got midnight train back to NJ. Peace
Rod Argent el ahora tecladista de The Zombies
Exactly what I was thinking!
All I can say is all the years I've known them both, Rod Argent can kick Rick Wakeman's ass on keyboards!!
Keith Emerson kicked all ass.
Apples and oranges Rick loved this solo by the way
@@tonypowell250 loads of effects
Ray Bennett of Flash says that would have been 1972, Flash's first US tour. He remembers Beck being very late and getting booed and having objects thrown at him when he took the stage. Did you know Flash has reunited and has a new CD out, "Flash Featuring Ray Bennett & Colin Carter"? Very cool! Check it out...
yeah!
Nice video.*****
私と暮らしていつも通りなら良く笑いますから。😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Richard Marks and Billy Squire?
Though Russ Ballard is generally seen as the lead vocalist in Argent (and originally sang this tune, written by Rod and Chris White), Rod also did a lot of the lead vocals. That said, Russ handled those tunes requiring more power and range, which is why he originally did this one. As you may know both Argent and the Zombies have been active again, with the former doing a live CD from the Meltdown Festival a couple years back, and the latter doing a live DVD.
A bit too fast. Don't cha think? It's still awesome!
i hear the Deep Purple & Keith Emerson in there.
❤😂🎉😮😅
Rod
Did he just sing at 06:30 "and if they stare, just let them burn there eyes on your boobie"???
... Just let them burn your eyes on you moving...
i cant take it any more
who's the female drummer? she reminds me of Karen Carpenter
WOW !!! God bless Ringo! Same energy as he had on Ed Sullivan shows in the mid 60's-STEADY ! He and Keith Richards r the "Timex Watches of Rock n' Roll" !!! Caught the All Stars in late 80s at Jones Beach. I remember reading in People Mag. about Ringo's and his wife's [Barbara Bach, still a "babe"] early sobriety. Ringo said with sobriety now he was able to get his ass off the bar stool and stop TALKING about doing tours involving different "all stars" of Rock n Roll and actually DOING IT !!! So in this performance Rod and Ringo [maybe Edgar] seemed to me to be the only guys in the whole place that didn't need Geritol [including most of fellow band members, except that "fox" drummer too}. Though Rod's voice has had better days he still has those magic fingers !!! God Bless Rock n' Roll ! [by the by, this is Kenny, the guy on the left. The other two, my gorgeous wife life companion,Johanna, and part of my heart- son, Luke, are a little too young to fully appreciate these guys-but I am here to pass the torch on]
that blonde chick keyboard player / dancer is pretty harsh looking....but after a few beers I guess I'd give her a throw.
Edgar Winter
Downhill Phil he's not a chick dumbass.
That is a GUY!! Edgar Winter!!!!!!!!
You been drinking way too much already! Can't remember the last time I saw a blonde chick sporting a moustach like that!!!!! Woahohohohohohahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!
It's gonna take A LOT more than a few beers to make Edgar Winter boinkable. 8-9 at least.
I didnt know Ringo Starr played on hammond
Ringo is on dorms. that's Rod Ardent on the Hammond
I used to be able to edit before Jan 6 2021. Weird. cany delete. Get Shadowbanned.

They're rushing. It ruined the groove.
