@WouterB76 I heard a story that they had tried to recruit Richard Page back when David Hungate left, but he was already starting to have success with Mister Mister and had to turn it down.
What an unbelievably astounding group of musicians. Ringo is a tremendous drummer, singer, and legendary person. His choice of musicians to make up the band really is " All Starr". If the millennial group would pay attention to the gift of fine music, they could actually claim they can listen.
I'm not certain but I think he was touring with Billy Joel for many years. He's multi-instrumentalist but probably best with saxophone. Amazing musician.
@@JanBulin I never heard him do any of David's parts on Africa, in the 2000 summer tour Bobby was there for those parts as Jeff babko couldn't do them, and from 2003 to 2008 Greg phillinganes did those parts.
No surprise Richard Page was invited to become lead singer of one of most successful bands of all time anted Chicago. Also to become singer of toto band.
I don't get the criticism of Ringo. He's closer to 80 than he is to 70. I don't know many people who still work a full-time job at his age! I like seeing him enjoying himself with his friends and showcasing the astounding talents he puts together onstage all at the same time!
It's not about his age NOW. He was NEVER a good drummer. Period. He sucks. I think that back in the day, Starr was the dude who happened to have the drumkit and his parents let the Beatles use their garage or something. That's why they kept him. He was an awful drummer. I highly suspect that 80% of the drum work on Beatles albums wasn't Starr at all.
Ewout Honig he didn’t join them until just before they hit big. Pete Best was the original drummer. So, no...he wasn’t hanging out with them because his parents let them use their basement.
I took a bus from Baltimore to Pittsburgh just to see his show last year. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had. His legend status is well earned.
@@Captain_Jack514 you are right. A historical concert because in addition to Ringo (Beatles) there were Steve Lukater (Toto) Gregg Roolie (Santana) Grahan Gouldnman (10 CC) and Colin Hay (Men at Work). It doesn't happens every day to see one of the Beatles on stage one of the founders of the Santana band that played in Woodstock.
Yes, you are right about that, I think it was Not a helpful touch. The guy can play but stepping through bunch of notes almost random is out of tune and out of timing to me...
Richard Page's voice is just so prefect on this song! He can hit those high Tones perfectly! Toto should totally have him singing the Chorus on their concerts!
So sad if someone today babbling just about Ringo's drumming.. Ringo and his All Stars project gave us a lot great live performances, lineups and fun! Legends of music sharing a stage and good vibrations...
......Probably one of the best Ringo Starr All-Stars ever assembled. Just look who makes up this band. Lukather, Rundgren, Rolie, Richard Page (who can still can sing his ass off) Greg Bissonette & Billy Joel's wood/brass winds guy, Richie Cannata.....Only a former Beatle could pull together a band like this. Hail Ringo!!
What an excellent live version of this classic song. In my opinion this is the best sounding All-Starr band that Ringo has ever put together. They sing one great song after another. Thanks for posting this video.
*Me: It's The Legend Drummer Of The Beatles Ringo Starr US/UK Storyteller Of Thomas And Friends And The Role Voice Of Mr. Conductor From The Shining Time Station TV Show*
Steve Lukather sounds absolutely amazing! I know it's Paich's song, but Steve really does a great job singing it. Richard Page is also wonderful in this. I get to see them in November and I can't wait!
It's great to hear Richard Page singing lead in the chorus. Did you know that he was offered the job as lead singer of TOTO back in 1983 when Bobby Kimball left the band?
Also, of note, is the fact that Richard is singing the lead totally by himself. Kimball used to do that, WAY early on, but lately it's been double by one or more singers. Like, Kimball with Tony Spinner at one point and then Joe Williams with one of the backup singers. So that's impressive on Richard's part. Also, I'm pretty sure David Paich and Kimball sang that part in unison on the album cut but Paich decided not to do that live for whatever reason.
Richard not only completely nails the chorus and the high notes but he is playing BASS at the same time!!!! How legendary and tough that is?
I think that’s Joe bonnamassa playing bass I can tell by that crazy haircut
@@stevekirksey9293 No, it's Richard Page, ex bassist and lead singer of Mr. Mister. One of the band's full members.
That's why he compliments TOTO very well, my hat off to mister mister Page
Page nails it!

Mark Rivera....on the sax!!!
What an incredible guy!!!

I'm impressed by Richard Page's tenor voice. He still sounds great after all these years!
He 's a very good singer

And he and brunet lutaker sing well togheter....guy who plays sax is gifted
Richard Page rocks!
He is really talented. Looks great and sounds great 2 live.
He is Mr Mister after all :-)
Toto wanted Richard to be their lead Singer, but he turned them down because of Mr. Mister.
The Ringo Starr, playing with Toto. I never thought I’d see this.
Semplicemente Meraviglioso vedere Stars cosi' vicine e ascoltare una delle piu' belle canzoni della Storia!!! Grandi Toto Grande Ringo!!!

I’m digging the sax. Love this!

Amazing.. Luke and Page together is fantastic.

Richard Page sings Bobby Kimball's part exceptionally well. And I love Lukather's rendition of David Paich's vocal parts.
Lukather did Paich's part on several Toto concerts before. He sure can sing Paich's parts. ;-)

HAHA Steve trying to sing like David Paich never ceases to amaze me.
A truly classic Toto song performed by a group of talented musicians...Love it!
That second voice of Richard is phenomenal..
Ringo playing High hat for whole song! Why not? without Ringo there wouldn't be bands like Toto or most of the music we all know and love today! x
Virtually FLAWLESS version.
This is my favourite band lineup for the All Star Band.
What can you say? They are all pros. Just killer playing and vocals. Thanks Ringo.
There's not a lot of Ringo there.

Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro and Carlos Vega in my heart !!! Thiago from Brazil !!!

Luke is so cute trying to sing like Paich. Everyone performing is absolutely amazing. Even Ringo.
He cracks me up when he sings, because all of a sudden he's got a British accent...
