I’ve had enough of self hatred. I am taking a stand. I accept myself for who I am. I have to embrace the love god has for me.
As a child of a strict, religious, narcissist, I was taught over and over that self-love was a sin!!
Learning to see myself through the correct lense is LIfe changing and its wonderful to drop the weight of shame and self hatred. ❤
I grew up in an orphanage with every possible abuse and thought that is why I reject myself and feel and look for rejection

Dude you’re awesome. I can already feel the difference watching this. I’ve been following Christ for about a year and I believe this is where I’ve been struggling. Being too hard on myself. Jesus died when we were yet sinners. So we must embrace that by accepting where we’re at and not comparing. Yes goals and striving to be better is important, but loving ourselves where we’re at, just like God does, then the getting better at things are just more grace gifts and an exciting journey of change in the name of love!

I feel that everything you are saying its truth!!! I have struggled with ocd and generalized anxiety disorder since I was a small kid. I just feel so lonely sometimes. Its sick. I know that I am a good person but definitely I dont love myself. I wasnt ever a religious person but since yesterday I feel that I want to believe to god and christ to heal me from this hell that I am living. Please pray for me!!! Amen 🙏

This is what I've been realizing God has been revealing to me and I have finally gotten to the point of being sick and tired of being sick and tired of my self loathing and being hard on myself. My poor eating habits, people pleasing, lack of joy, decrease in everyday happiness and mentally beating myself up has caught up with me. And what's worse is that I've let it leak out and I know people can see glimpses of it now. These past two months were waves of such strong discouragement like I've never felt before and finally these past few days have just been tears and outcries (I barely cry). I finally get it, and I'm thankful that you, brother Mark have gone through it because I have never heard it explained. I'm going to continue to watch any and every video you have that speaks on this. It's all questions I've asked God before but I now know that because I've reached a rock bottom, He's waiting for me to get over myself and let Him build me up.
Thank you it seems so distant for me to love my myself and receive the love of God. Please pray for me I believe that if I receive this that I can help others as well. There is hope in Jesus! Amen.
Mark, I'm glad you said what you said. I'm in a toxic relationship and have been wanting to get out. My struggle is that it's my wife of 25 years and I still have 4 children at home. The 3 oldest have left BECAUSE she is toxic has many narcissistic tendencies!
IDK how to go about doing it. I really need to find a counselor who understands toxic people and narcissism. Talking to people who don't understand it, they just scratch their head and say, Well, ask God to help you through it and see what God wants you to do. I believe in doing what God wants. However, I cannot let a toxic person keep ruining my life and my children's lives!
Oh this is me. I have hated myself with not being wanted by my dad, having uterine cancer and being able to hear my own children, having rectal cancer and fearing and not enjoying food, regrets and on and on

Have to love myself out of this toxic marriage!!! We can never ever speak about fixing anything he just sits there in hate and has no spark for fixing anything and just hurts everyone around him.. And fills his voids with alcohol hate and neglect, he just wants to stay in his apparent self fullfilling selfish bubble. Im just so use to performing although Im miserable and I am totally use to putting all my wants and needs on the back burner.. Really hope God helps me see this through.

This is IT. Right here. The core. The powerful reaction I kept having. Crying. Screaming. This is THE thing that must be healed by God. I have had so much radical healing-but this is the seed that is left. This just touched on my issues in the way no counseling, support group, or book ever has. Like a tidal wave as you kept talking. Here it is, what I’ve been waiting to find out. THE ROOT PROBLEM. Now I’m not sure what the next step is. That one thing you say to do. It feel afraid it is get out of my toxic marriage. like leave my marriage. I have a young son and don’t understand what is right to do. I know NOW is the turning point in my life and healing. It started 3 days ago. Something huge is occurring. And I know these videos-but especially this-is a huge part of it. (The other big thing that has been happening is worship like I have never experienced-including laughter-which I am finding it is healing by the Holy Spirit.

I find I must listen to these teachings over and over again to let it sink into my spirit man. If you have thought a certain way all your life the change does not come over night and that’s ok.

wow, I googled heart conditions because I have been searching for what is this "yoke" around my life and this popped up, I've ordered the book, listened to several of the videos and over and over again, it's the response of self hatred and the retreating, the withdrawal, the symptoms, now I get to the root and make a decision. I give myself permission to love who God Loves which is the awesome me, today I make a decision to introduce myself to her. I know this is just one small breakthrough, but this was an answer to a cry out to God and He heard me. Thank you Mark, God Bless you and your obedience to be the answer to the problem, many of us are facing.!

“Reprogramming” our hearts with the Word of God is so important to a changed life. A renewed mind saturated with Gods Promises and Gods Character are essential to changing the way we think. I have spent most Of my life trying to “think” my way into a “new and improved” life. This has been unsuccessful.
Gods Word is usually the last resort for most of us. Yet, God is patient. He will wait as long as it takes for us to surrender and realize the answers to a great life have been sitting on our coffee table for years. (Brush off your Bible and start renewing your mind) Isaiah 55:8-9 have been foundational verses to transforming my life.

Thank you for sharing this very important topic. I have been struggling to love God, others as I love myself. In loving others, often I have been hurt by others and feel manipulated/used by them bcs I can not say "no" to others. I am tired and frustrated, Then I begin to think to love myself first (I believe Go inspires me). Love others as you love yourself. Loving ourself with the pondation of God's love should be the raw model/basic pattern for myself to love others , not the other way round.

I have a rare ear disorder and tinnitus. My fear is going deaf. I cannot stew in my tinnitus and be deaf at the same time. I fear I won't make it. Please pray for me. If you can give me any tips, that would be great. I want to let go and fully trust Jesus but I am way too scared.

Self hatred is debilitating
I have had people who I have loved, steal from me, disrespect my boundaries, not visit me when I was in the hospital, tell me I was too generous, etc. These were people who I thought I knew all of which claimed to be Christians. So, I am very Leary of the whole thing! At one point I called myself the eliminator because God doesn't want His children abused. No earthly father wants his children abused so neither does God. I go to God and ask Him what part in this do I play? Answer......too trusting, bad boundaries, not thinking enough of myself and victim mindset from years of abuse. I need to look at myself! And, I bought books like safe people and boundaries by Christian psychologists. No one is better than anyone else. Jesus blood was shed for all....that includes me and anyone reading this. Also, Cassandra Mack on u tube has a lot of good videos and she's a minister, a social worker, author and life coach. She also has church by phone every Sunday where you call a number and then put a pin code in and hear sermons and get prayer too. God is love!!!!!

@@jpadkins1988 I know how you feel, I'm about 80 lbs overweight. This whole video resonated with me. I'm great at "dieting", but could never maintain because of THIS issue. Everything about what he spoke has finally reached the root.

I do have a question since I discussed with my brother in law (a Baptist pastor ) about this notion and he told me that us humans love ourselves by default. I don’t agree since I don’t think addictions and such are ways of truly loving oneself yet I couldn’t give him any clear biblical references on this. What are key scriptures proving the need for loving ourselves besides Mark 12:31 ? Thx a lot !
Hi Angelica, it's a common question, as many Christians see the term "loving yourself" as meaning selfishness. When people say we already love ourselves by default, it really needs some further thinking. We don't know how to love with God's love. In fact, if we are born into a default setting, it is more based on selfishness, lust and survival, not love. Those who say we already love ourselves, I ask them to look around. Are people really manifesting a genuine love that they cultivate in their life? The manifestations reveal that we love ourselves terribly by how we interact. In Ephesians 5 a man who loves his wife, loves himself. When you see a husband who does not treasure his wife, we can know that he struggles with self-hatred and his wife is on the receiving end of his inability to love himself. When you truly love yourself, it causes the flow of love you give out to others to have more depth and power. You give out of what you have received. Check out my other videos on this subject, as I address some of this issues in the videos there too. My wife and I also did a podcast series on loving yourself that will really help.

Are you saying to leave a marriage if one thinks it is toxic? I don't believe that is what the Bible teaches. I would refer people to Gary Thomas's book, Sacred Marriage if they feel they are in a toxic marriage.
