I opened PPF account in 2012 and every year just invested 500 annually but the recent equity crash and Franklin fiasco, I think I'll max out 1.5 lakhs annually in PPF and then remaining investable surplus in debt funds and equity funds using 40:60 allocation respectively

Since during a total market crash like this all the funds are at a lower value of their respective NAVs, is this a good time for switching from a less preferable (for whatever reasons) fund to a more preferable one? Coz: no tax load, low NAV entry in the preferred fund.
    Seeking your judgement in this?

Do you know that even "ICICI equity and debt fund MD" also has been closed? They also didn't pay latest dividend due to liquidity crunch. You need to review all Debt fund to assess the situation.

    Dear Sir,
Since I had a bit of free time I went through the returns of a lot of equity funds over a period from 2005 to 2020. I observed that the returns of almost all the funds ( whether large cap, thematic, sector specific etc) gave returns of 9.5 to 10.5 % ( approximately).
Does this mean that ( due to the cyclical behaviour of the markets) returns in almost all equity funds average out over a period of time?
    Thank you

@@pran10000 the div yield of our market is 1% our official inflation is 7% so the income you will get from stock investments is negative...our earning yield is 2.5%...even if earnings grow by 8% per year you wouldn't even breakeven against inflation. And our earning is seeing degrowth for years now... any negetive shock like raising interest rate or currecy crisis will crash this house of cards....as this rally has no fundamental ground....it mere speculation driven by cheap money from central banks.... . Looking forward for your reply :-)
I want to invest in Index fund direct plan which adds dividends auto in my SIP again.
So I chose this fund ICICI Prudential Nifty Index Fund - Direct-Growth.
    Questions:-
    1. It is the right fund that is direct and adds dividends to my SIP again or I need to change it.
    2. What's your review about this fund, It's current Assets is ₹ 688 Cr. I think when time goes on this its value increases.
    3. Any third Index fund you want to suggest for me.

@@richiustad Dividends from Mutual funds are not like the dividends you get owning direct equity.
You get your own money and are taxed accordingly. The NAV drops in the same proportion as declared dividends.
Don't listen those mutual fund agents who insist on a dividend payout option.
