Using a money market fund for exactly the same reason of parking a part of the surplus cash to be used for rebalancing from fixed income to equity when the need arises. Redemption hardly takes a day. Hence pretty liquid. Thanks for the clearing out the noise through the video.

Soon Taxes on Notional gains in Debt Mutual Fund will come may be next year other after that...If it sounds stupid then look what has happened in real estate, Taxes has to be paid on Notional gain if you are buying a property at a discounted rate in Bank Auction or otherwise also in a distress sale where seller needs money urgently and thereby selling at a discounted price....Then will ccime wealth Tax on all your holdings...After this will come tax on equity to be treated as normal Income and thereby pay higher tax rates...Taxes have increased year after year in India...Record number of HNIs have given up Indian citizenship in last 2-3 years with primary reason given by them to be very high taxation with absolutely negligible return on those taxes paid(free school education, free healthcare, retirement pension, social security which are available to citizens in western countries despite paying lower rate of taxes in those countries)...

Since debt funds have a higher risk than FDs, they issuers of bonds will have to offer higher returns to investors.

The question I want to ask is, how should one approach the debt asset mix of one's asset allocated portfolio?

Seems VPF is much better option except liquidity. We can balance it some arbitrage funds.
No big risk, no AMC charges, one time tax and gets real compounding effect. Worth looking at it those who wants to increase debt exposure.

How about long term tax free bonds from NHAI, PFC etc. with good coupon rate, if your investment horizon is long and you have a lumpsum.. Is it a good option ?

Debt mutual funds which have equity investment of 36% will be treated as equity mutual funds, where LTCG above 1 year is 10% above Rs 1.00 lakh. This rate is less than 20% , 30% tax rate. Hence, mutual funds to bring out hybrid funds with equity investments of 36% to make funds more secure than pure equity funds

"Debt mutual funds which have equity investment of 36% will be treated as equity mutual funds" This is not what the amendment said or even implied

Hi, is a Nifty 50+Nifty Next 50(80%), Nifty Midcap 150(20%) index fund a good enough portfolio for monthly SIPs? Or should I reduce it to 60% and bring in a 20% allocation for the Aggressive hybrid fund, since there will be no debt allocation?

start investing in the name of housewife or children who do not earn and save taxes. For horizon above 7 years I always go for equity. I had a question about multicap fund Pattu sir, will they be better than flexicap funds given that most flexicap funds have more than 70% large cap companies thereby reducing long term returns.

If I am not getting good reward than the risk taken than investment in debt doesn't makes sense now. The ones who want to park there money, liquid funds will still have good inflow
