    Hey Phil, I've noticed you use Dr. beasleys for compounding and polishing. Have you found it gives the best results most of the time. I mainly use 3dOne, mainly because it's fast, does a decent job and doesn't dust. But I'm always looking for better products. Was also looking into some carpro polishing products and pads because I know they make quality products as well. I'm going to be polishing a Toyota Corolla with lots of water etching and scratches, so I'm not sure 3dOne will be powerful enough for the job, but we'll see.

      Hi. So we use the Dr Beasleys NSP polishes as primers for ceramic coatings primarily. Thats what they are designed for. Makes things faster and less risky if dealing with sift black paint. We still use other compounds and polishes for non coating services. 3D One is awesome also!

    Phil, good point. Some named detailer warriors go beyond what is needed and want to set the bar, their bar as a standard. Just because they take it as a “therapy” for their OCD, that doesn’t necessary means that all should go their way of seen and do things. It’s business, period. If you speak with the client and discuss what is needed according to your experience and the client expectations, that’s all what it matters.
    Who pays for the service? The client. Who’s there to do the job? You! Nobody else is between those 2 persons
    But I guess everything comes down to what other detailers charge for their service and the ones that charge less, the ones that get offended, are the ones trying to set the bar higher as they would go well beyond for that X amount of money…they think their “2 week experience as detailers” is not worthy and get jealous about what others charge, the ones with years of experience and that means knowledge and that bring$ to your business and confidence to the client, something they don’t have, confidence on themselves and they compensate doing more…for less. They said since it's a daily driven car kept outside that I should skip it since it's softer than the ultra and will pick up love marks much quicker. Surprised me to hear for sure. As a stand alone in my situation they said no problem but since I have a stronger coating to start with to leave it alone.

    • @Breese147
      @Breese147 Рік тому +1

      @@Breese147, That's what I did. They said in the beginning they recommended Exo for everyone that had Lite or Ultra as a base coat. Now it's recommended for at the very least garage kept cars and as well as they said absolutely proper maintenance is required or they won't even recommend it for garage kept. It's much softer so swirls and drying marks are going to show much easier. I topped mine with Duraslic Flow-X. As of now for all the Toppers I've tried this stuff is leaps and bounds the best I've used. It's not cheap but it's the real deal. @@MirandaDetailing thank you. But won’t a non ph neutral soap remove coatings?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +1

      No ceramic coatings are very resistant to high and low ph soaps. In fact when a coating starts to show signs of clogging it’s good to deep clean it with those types of strong soaps. For waxes and sealants it’s best to use a ph neutral shampoo because waxes and sealants are not as strong as coatings.

  • @livnaway
    @livnaway Рік тому +1

    Would you consider doing a video on car soaps specifically to the understand of Ph? My of us think ph neutral is best dues to marketing. But I am learning that ph neutral may not clean as well. I have a car with Stek PPF where the ceramic coat is embedded in the film. Then a ceramic coat was applied to the outside in addition. I top off with a ceramic coat spray every few months. Ideally, I would love to do regular washes with foam cannon and blow dry for a touchless wash that gets off film and grime. You told me that higher ph soaps won’t strip ceramic coatings, but what about ?the topper spray? In my situation, is it possible to avoid a contact wash? Wouldn’t this free up a lot of time for detailers? A video dispelling the myths would really be helpful in my opinion.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +1

      Great question! I filmed a video today explaining different soaps and what they do and when to use them. As far as a contact wash it depends. If the vehicle is garage kept and really clean you could get away with just a ceramic infused shampoo and rinse and dry and it’s good to go. But that’s rare on vehicles that have driven a few miles on the road and have built up grime on the paint. You would want to contact wash it.

      Ok good. That’s a good thing though. If the paints that smooth and the clay bar didn’t pick up that much grit that’s good!

    Thank you for this helpfull video , one question can i do ceramic coating without polishing before ?

    • @dustin3700
      @dustin3700 Рік тому +1

      Yes, but it may not last or perform well . So I would stick with a spray and wipe or paste wax if you don’t want to polish or pay for a polish. Kind of like applying paint to a dirty surface. The products are designed to bond to clean clear coat, even new vehicles on the lot can be vary contaminated or have water spots.

    Beautiful. Yeah....I leave high spots! After about 4th go around I get them off. Geewizz.
    Question: not that it matters, but why EXOv4 for the coating? Just trying to get in your head alittle.
    Question: is it that difficult to go from amateur enthusiast to a pro detailer? Man I would have a difficult time doing that!
    Ok. Very fun video. I sure look forward to your videos. Hi wife.

      Thanks! So we sell EXOv2 as our 2 year coating. Customer wanted a 2 year coating. So basically we offer a few options for coatings. A 1, 2, and 5 year option. Each at. Incremental price points. So I explain each one and they choose.

    super random question, but what is that bug that makes that rattling sound. It seems to be very common on the east coast and south, but I've never heard it anywhere on the west coast. Thanks in advance for whoever knows. haha
