    I am a service tech at a GM dealership and I have seen a handful of camaros with stripes like that and all of them have oxidation similar. There was one that looked like they polished around the stripes to make it look like they were flat instead of gloss.

    I think that’s a great great tip. Don’t try to be a hero. I only do coatings and corrections and always set expectations. Too many people in my area not measuring the paint or always 2 stepping every single car to post a perfect car & customers now not knowing they’re left with super thin clear. I think 90% of my customers are happy with a one step and think that alone looks night and day 🙌

    This is how the clear on my C7 looked, well maybe not this bad but similar. Only the top surfaces so I’m sure it’s UV damage plus marks from dirty wash mitts I bet. I corrected it myself just like you did. Since I have almost no experience I took the slow and steady approach. Cutting compound plus foam pads with a cordless DA. It takes many passes (too many) but this reduces the risk of burning thru the clear. Since I’m doing it myself I’m trading time for safety. To keep it from failing again I’m going cover with PPF once done. My car already had some PPF in spots (hood, mirrors, rocker panels) and those areas still look great so I am firm believer in the stuff. Sure the PPF lacks the super reflective properties of paint but the finish underneath is flawless so I know any scratches are only in the film.

    The dynamic duo does it again! Superb job. The stripes scared Me! I did a car recently which had a lot of "little things" to remove/correct. There was a specific area which had deep sand marks and grotesque rotary swirls. It took everything to get it nice and clear. It is amazing what can be done with the right tools.
    For tires, I love CarPro PERL. I use an Adam's applicator or a foam applicator. I've never tried Your brush technique. I certainly will.
    I LOVVE those mini polishers featured in this video! Are they linked below? Dual action? Gear driven? I have an Adam's mini swirl killer which works great! I need a smaller machine to get in to VERY tough spaces.
    Be well, keep the great videos coming! I really enjoy them and continue to learn which is always a plus!

    I use different types of applicators to put on dressings. High profile, big knobbies, low profile, tires that have all kinds of lines, all need something different. It can be a pain.

    Was that clear coat med or hard?just by looking seems on hard side..

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +1

      It wasnt really hard, just really oxidized, so it took lots of cutting. the rest of the paint was medium hardness or so.

    hey phil, rsndom question but where do you find that vaccume head piece that is more ideal for flat surfaces rather that the typical long nozzle piece. I've been looking everywhere and I can't find it.

    What can you do about the rubber trims on the windows? Mine lool pretty nasty, faded, with water spots.

    • @alexbryan7641
      @alexbryan7641 Рік тому +2

      I have a feeling phil will tell you to try scrubbing them while washing with a soft brush then if that doesn’t work u can try polishing them with a water based paint polish or even odorless mineral spirits can work if they’re really nasty to clean them in my experience. Just be sure to add a rubber protectant afterwards👍

    Can a car be clayed and waxed without the need for polishing?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Рік тому +2

      Hi. Yeah you can, but the clay baring may leave some light marring in the paint that needs very light polishing to remove. it doesn't have to be extensive polishing, even applying a wax with a DA polisher and soft pad is enough to do that.
