Nice, beautiful model and very good review about the batteries, very important, I'm doing my maiden next week in the Slovakian livery and your comment about battery weights helps a lot, short runway and obstacles around are no good for a heavy battery. Thanks
Shes an awesome plane to fly! I love my camo L39 that much I treat her to an fms 2100kv edf and bought the white version too and that has the fms 2000kv. Fitted burners to both and I must admit they are my favourite scale 80mm jets in my hanger. Keep up the fantastic reviews mate. Very thorough and ticking all the boxes needed for a review 👍🏾
Glad to hear FMS work in these planes good. Did you see any difference between the 2 units in L39? Also is that the 3665 -2000kv? Appreciate the feedback too!
@@BDTennessee in the air there's not much difference between the 2. I thrust tested the 2100 unit in the L39 and got 3kg max peak and 128mph. My futura v2 (same motor) made 2.9kg thrust and 128mph. My futura v3 2200kv made 2.8kg and 2.9kg in the L39. V3 made 129mph. I had to up the timing on the motor from 15 to 30 to get them figures tho. AMP draw is still safe with the 100A esc. I'd say the 2100 is the better motor by a small percent.
@@BDTennessee yeh id say so too. At 50% throttle the thrust between the 2 is very similar. The 2000 also holds more of its peak thrust after 5 seconds compared to the 2100. Can't go wrong with either fan 👍🏾
I just got a camo L-39 and maidened it yesterday. I put an AR636 that I reprogrammed in mine. I mounted it to the front of the foam below the blue box. I had about an inch between the front of the receiver and the back of the 5000mAh battery. So, 3/4’s of the battery was behind the front strap. Yours looks way forward of where mine was. It still took a little forward stick to fly inverted. I took off and landed in SAFE mode. It flew great..
Thanks BD... I'm getting a used L-39 this week. Looking forward to playing with it. They claim its a Sport Jet with a camo finish... Whats your take? I'm looking for that fun nimble like sportjet that I can push hard.. Any bad characteristics? I'm gonna use a HRB 4000 or a SMC 5300 (or both). Thanks buddy, Will
You will like this jet! Similar to sport jet in agility. Can glide good and cruise in when keeping light. Careful not to get to far out cause shorter wingspan (hard to see profile). Yellow accent helps but still be cautious. HRB 4000 or SMC 4400 would be similar to weight of Amiral Pro 4000 in video. SMC 5300 (749g) will work too.Probably the heaviest battery i would personally use in L39...
@@BDTennessee Got the L-39 up and running. Maiden was a snap. She's quite the performer. The HRB 4000s made her very light and snappy with a 3min flight time. The SMC 5300 was a good flyer. Not as snappy, but still very good. With a 4:45 flight time (not pushing it too much). Great plane for sure.
Settings in description. Here is Flaps and Elevator Mix Flaps: (mm) Pos 0: Flush with aileron/wing Pos 1: 24 / .5 mm Up Elevator (-2%) Pos 2: 38 / 1.5 mm Up Elevator (-4%) Speed: 4.0 Linked
Put the transmitter's flight modes on the flap switch and enable flight mode trim for the ailerons and elevator. Then you'll have separate trims for each position of the flaps and you can trim each one in flight. No need for mixing in the flap system menu..
Hey BD, Nice jet. What type of RX did you have in the bird that was compatible with your Spektrum TX Mike P.S. You make great videos for the novice and pro flyers.
