"The camera battery died before the fish showed up". That is the first time I have heard that excuse from a fisherman. I will have to use that next time I go fishing alone lol.
*Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*
Great video !! I "was" using gracias little brother to this one for years but the crank kept backing off .... I am picking up the C4 6601 this week. I use mine for fat Saskatchewan walleye and pike... I can't wait to hit the water with my new C4 👍🏼
Glad I watched this video inspired me to re buy this reel after having more experience with baitcasters I had regretted selling my first one but I found a deal brand new for $81 on this reel so I went ahead and ordered another one it’ll be for catfishing!
I have the same exact reel, it's my favorite. I'm saving up to buy another one. Abu Garcia round baitcasters are the best. Keep them cleaned and oiled and they last for a long, long time. I didn't realize spider wire is made in USA. I been running power pro, not sure where it's made, but I like buying domestic too.
Thank for sharing my friend...I like the rig at the end of the video. I hit the pier in S.C. last week, i was getting some good tips from some old school fisherman. Thanks again my friend.
Just an added comment, I was using it today with 15lb mono and casting 5” stick baits with ease. Only had two fish of a couple of pounds each but it was a joy to use.
Nice video and a great reel! That is my go to reel when I fish especially for flounder offshore! Great for jogging with heavy bucktails! Stick to the made in Sweden Abu's! Keep 'em coming! Tight Lines!
Nice reel sir, was looking for another bait caster to get because I had a ocean masters and it was a terrible reel broke apart after only 3 moderate uses, I will never go back to ocean masters ever agin. Sticking to Penn and Abu Garcia, for life.
I have two 6500 c3 and i pair them with 7" medium light striper rods by Ugly stik and it's amazing, been looking at this reel for a while, would you recommend diversifying my setups a bit or sticking with 6500, i use mine for catfishing.
I have two C4s on my cat rods, LOVE them! The fast retrieve lets me keep my gear off the bottom when I bring it in. I keep a spare bait clicker gear in just case I forget and cast with the bait clicker engaged. Thanks!
Just bought one today and can confirm they are still made in Sweden. The Chinese ABU’s are ok for freshwater, but you need the Swedish version for saltwater. The lighter spool means casting lighter baits is easier, the drag is smooth, the retrieve is fast enough. I’ll let you know if it lets me down.
Just Cause I’m a year late but yes this is a versatile reel. You get a lot of effortless power when reeling in and makes fighting the fish 10x easier if it’s a beast
I bought the exact same reel, but the left-hand crank version 6601. OK, so I am going to frank about this reel, let's just say it isn't great. For me, there are 2 issues: 1)the spool flexes under load and makes a noise and 2) the gears are too small, at 6.3:1 I didn't expect it to strain when I am retrieving my live prawn when the bait is helicoptering. I have owned other Abus before such as an Ultracast UC6501C and that reel didn't have these problems. Overall, I can live with the flexing spool, but the lack of cranking power is just a bit disappointing. But, at such a low price point, perhaps I shouldn't complain too much. Other than that, I think I am done with the Abassadeurs, may be I will try some of the Revos in future.
+On Day Five Fishing (OD5 Fishing) i noticed that too. line should kept near the lip. but anyway, i just bought the Daiwa Saltist ultra high speed levelwind 30H
yo chris im hitting up kure beach after wirk Saturday we should link up and fill a cooler prob gona pull another all nighter and try and get some good fish for my new channel also hmu bro
I see all these Abu videos on youtube and i don't get it. Every piece on these reels is stamped, there's lateral vibration on the handle/knobs, backbplay on the handle, only 3BB etc. It feels damn cheap in your hands, the reel isn't tightly build at all. Daiwa offerings are so much better but people are always coming back with their OG abu's.
They are mechanically simple, that means maintenance is simple. You can take them apart very easily. Replacement parts are very easily sourced. Can be upgraded with aftermarket parts. Proven design.
I can say that cleaning is pretty simple. I haven't had a much luck casting the 6600 a mile like I used to with the 6500 C3. I took the brakes out and now I'm getting a few back lashes that I didn't get with the 6500 C3. Thoughts?
On Day Five Fishing I went from c3 to c4 and I felt the same. At first I thought maybe it wasn't broke in but never outcast my c3. Guess the extra ball bearing adds friction

Thanks so much for the video. Just bought one this afternoon and stoked to use it.
Great looking reel man!

Glad you like it.
When i purchased my second 6600, set it up with 30lb braid
first cast... fish on.
What a winner
Nice
The writing on the box says it all bro, ABU for life.

I’m new and you’re helping me NOT look like a total idiot in front of my friends 🤣
Thanks Hector. I wish you all the best.
I love the abu garcia reels too, I have a bunch of there baitcasting reels!
"Fish showed up after the camera died". Sounds like a good fish story! :-D Great video.
Loving the music
By the way! I am Swedish, and i have like you fished with Abu all my Life!
+ArcticDreamers Rapture Very cool. Say hello to all of Sweden for me!

Yes buying domestic is certainly a good thing to do. I need to pay more attention to that as well.

Ray Mack's Kitchen and Grill Cool. What's biting ins SC?
What pier? I'm trying to find some good piers. Right now the trout are biting

That sounds like a good time.

Great music and a great reel have been using abu Garcia for over 40 years and they just work.. by the way what did you catch?
Nice reel sir, was looking for another bait caster to get because I had a ocean masters and it was a terrible reel broke apart after only 3 moderate uses, I will never go back to ocean masters ever agin. Sticking to Penn and Abu Garcia, for life.
👍🏿Penn and Abu Garcia are both very good choices. Good luck. Thanks for stopping by.
What kind of rod did you put it on
I love ABU reels too
Indeed a good brand.
Hey bro... I see it's been awhile now. How do you like that reel after a few years? I'm stuck between buying this or the CS Pro Rocket....
always buy the cs pro rocket, then u have a reel for life.
Sooooo which one do you favor, the 6500C3 or the 6600C4?

daffyduck the 6600 is a slick reel and extremely versatile
Was thinking of getting cardiff byt saw this you changed my mine
I have two C4s on my cat rods, LOVE them! The fast retrieve lets me keep my gear off the bottom when I bring it in. I keep a spare bait clicker gear in just case I forget and cast with the bait clicker engaged. Thanks!
jimrivergear Yes, it's quite a nice reel. I'm enjoying it.

Thanks. Keep me posted.
why use such heavy test and such a heavy reel for whiting I mean I catch huge ones on 8 pound test
I am getting into muskie fishing, looking to get this reel. Do you think this would be a wise purchase? Thanks for your review.
Just Cause I’m a year late but yes this is a versatile reel. You get a lot of effortless power when reeling in and makes fighting the fish 10x easier if it’s a beast
Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C4 6600 Casting Reels has continuous anti-reverse
Does it have a clicker?

After using it for a bit. I will save I love the 6500 C 3 more.
im about to type to ask and compare with cardiff 400 and i heard you lol. what is your verdict? sticking with this?
Hey man. I kept the Abu Garcia. I didn't keep the Cardiff but I think I didn't have enough line on it. That's what a couple of other viewers said.
+On Day Five Fishing (OD5 Fishing) i noticed that too. line should kept near the lip. but anyway, i just bought the Daiwa Saltist ultra high speed levelwind 30H
Cool. Let me know how you like it.
I wonder why your one has a grey star drag wheel and mine has a gold one? the model is identical.
Good question.
Good question.
This is the newest version of the 6600 C4, blue, gray and gold. I bought one for fishing surubins and small pirararas (Brazil).
Hi, can be used with mono and braid?
yes
I got the c4 4600
What nationality is " Cominatcha" :-)?
Can it get the 4oz and 5oz out pretty far?
Yes sir. It gets out there nicely with those weights.
just $120,- is insane, here in Europe they cost you about €160,- ($190,-)
Will this reel work for musky
Musky are pretty strong so I can't say for certain but I think it would probably do a pretty good job.
What is the rod
It's an Abu Garcia Graphite Rod. It's a Veritas.
This is the first vid that I watch from you and you kinda sound like obama No offense
yo chris im hitting up kure beach after wirk Saturday we should link up and fill a cooler prob gona pull another all nighter and try and get some good fish for my new channel also hmu bro
snagging lips Hey, What's up? How'd you do and what's the name of your new channel?
Googan

I haven't tried the Daiwas. Which one do you fish with?

What i use is kinda overpriced compared to Abus. Ryoga1016, Pixy Airy Red, PX68, megabass fx68 etc.
On Day Five Fishing I went from c3 to c4 and I felt the same. At first I thought maybe it wasn't broke in but never outcast my c3. Guess the extra ball bearing adds friction
Is it true these are made in China and pieces of junk these days? Please respond, need help making up my decision of abu garci or a shimano
GrahamPj20 C3 and C4 are made in Sweden except the 7000s
Optics Thanks Optics!
Man cut off the music
