actually most from the record reel in thr past til this model wouldn't have that spool rod plastic clip at the end. i have 3 of these still new in box. currently running 3 older versions baby blue record on rods. my first abu was a 6600 C4 blue. still running strong and the quietness of them all. also have 3 6500 c3 2speeds. very lite winch reel, 3.8 low gear pulls heavy stuff like nothing.
Thank you for a very good and long review! I liked it alot! Im also new to multipliers. After a life fishing with spinning reels i recently bought the ambassadeur beast round reel. I think its one of their best reels. Maybe the morrum is little pricier but i think its more for finesse fishing, not pike fishing with heavy lures that i do. After discovering how fun they are to fish with, i believe i soon will buy another one just for fun :)
Thanks for the complement Bertgert! I will probably only use the spinning reels for ultralight fishing now that like you I've found out how much fun these are. Plus there stronger and have better drags. No line twist and more control!
Thanks for the review. Found your review very informative and helpful, I also like the Record reel as well, and I have found it to be top of the Abu-Garcias line as well, and have had about all there reels over the last 30 years or so, for the price, this is my reel of choice. I have found a lot of people just have not had this reel, opting to upgrade there c3 or rocket reels, which is absolutely fine, these upgrades make these Abu reels just as fine as the Record but cost wise they will have twice the money in them for a reel that could have been bought for half the price, then upgraded if wanted, I am wanting to put a few upgrades on my Record reel which i have not done as yet, but am planning to do, just want to figure out what i can do {upgrade} to them. I should have a reel that casts and retrieves like a dream. the drags are carbon fiber and don't need upgraded untill a problem starts. I have found my Records to outcast and be extremely smooth operating straight out of the box and would highly reccomend the Abu Garcia Record 6600 HC to anybody. I fish for large catfish mostly [10-80 plus lbs] and use rigs that weigh 6 oz. or better without the baits, with the baits you could add another 6 to 8 oz easily, and have had zero problems With a change of rods, I also throw musky baits with the same reel and find the thumb bar button to be nice when casting for these fish. When casting for hours on end you will find it nice the smooth retrieve of these reels, they are as good as or comparable to the Shimano and Daiwa reels that are 500 plus dollars. As with all these upper end reels take care of them and they will last forever for you, and if you not satisfied there are plenty of places to resell your reels these days.
Great informative video. I have (2) # 60 Record reels (2) # 50 Record (3) # 40 Record, (4) 4600 C3's (2) Rocket Pro's Carp Special. (2) Revo MGX reels (for Bass) (1) Revo S. My first Record was the #50 from Bass Pro. and I was sold on the record. I'm retired/disabled with not much I can do physically. I had to sell my Bass Boat as I was unable to launch it. But my love for fishing hasn't stopped since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Thank you so much for the information as now I want to upgrade my C3 4600 which can already cast a mile. (metaphor of course) I look forward now to more of your videos. Thanks again.
What makes you think the brakeplate on the C4 is plastic? Because its black? It is metal.
Excellent video Nate, I have a lot better understanding of what gear does what now. I just recently purchased a C4 and am patiently waiting for its arrival lol. I wouldve like to hear your rendition of the main gears but either way, Thank you!
Thanks, glad it helped. UA-cam is an amazing place for such things, I’ve learned so much from others on here it’s hard to believe.
The C4 is an amazing reel, the new ones have a 6 pin brake and much smoother gears than the older models as seen in this vid, plus you get an extra bearing on the worm gear. Hope you are enjoying it now 👍
Hi Nate. Where do i find a 6600HC Record with power handle like yours?
4.7:1 wow. I thought the record was faster. Would love to have one still.
Excellent for big GT?
Any idea where you can get one of the record reels? I couldn't find the EBAY store you used and haven't had much luck in the traditional ways, realize this is 4 years old but was hoping you had a link Thanks
you do have 1 now under with the seller 24*7fishing
I own some baitcasters made by Abu Garcia 7000 series mainly and 3 big game series. but I am finding now there is a lot better quality in some reels made here at home.
Jim Bilbrey I think it is because the newer abu Garcia are made in China. I've learned to look for the made in Sweden mark
@@normkennedy5565 the c4s, c3s, records are still made in sweden. only the low end reels are made in china.
Do you have a web address for were you got the reel I am not finding it
donde puedo adquirirlo??
brakeplate is not plastic
Hola donde pedo comprar este reel?
Can you clarify made in China? The design where its made? Where are the parts made? Who puts it together?
Design not sure but parts and manufacturing all in China.
None of the brake plates are plastic.
the c3 and c4 is on the new ones anyway!
@@natesplace7809 it is certainly not!
