Some five years ago, I nipped one of these in an electronics dumpster; mine has had water damage, most likely from torrential rain in July 2011. My machine have had some wonky Wifi connections over the years, and then gradually the keyboard started to have more and more dead keys. Some months ago I bought a replacement keyboard off eBay, but only now bothered to give replacing it a shot. Watching this video made it a 3 minute job. The machine is reassembled, keys work, no visible nicks after I poked around with a ball pen and a screwdriver. This video made my repair work. One last thing: If one collects old computers from dumpsters; do format the harddrive; the former owner's files should not be of interest to the new owner. Happy Easter, 2020. Cheerio!
I followed a different tutorial and immediately found myself in a pickle as the orientation of the parts on the vid I watched were different from my device, but your video really helped set it straight! Thanks!
I just followed the instructions in this video to replace the keyboard on my Dell Inspiron 1545 and it was a snap. This video shows exactly how to remove the old keyboard and install the new keyboard. I am typing this comment on the new keyboard and it works perfectly!
