    I can't believe you didn't strip any of the screws using the drill like that.

      @regazzz  10 років тому +4

      I must admit - sometimes screws getting stripped. Not that often if you use a right screw bit.

      Why??? use a drill?? your not taking apart a car for crying out loud....a simple small phillips would have done the job...lol

    Had to do this all just to clean the fan.

      I know right? The heat sink is really easy to get to, but the second you want to replace/clean the fan, you have to dissemble the whole thing!

    Hi,
    if you need to replace a fan - this is the only way. This video is a complete disassemble (pretty much all videos on my channel are like that) Means you don't need to take LCD apart in order to only remove a fan :)))
    And, the huge advantage of this laptop, that you don't need to do a lot in order to clean a fan and heat sink.
    So, if you need to clean a fan, just open this door (you will see in this video) and clean it. Just unplug from power source, remove battery and use wired antistatic..

    Is it possible to remove the glas? I got somethign like paint between the glass and the lcd screen.

    • @darkstar3540
      @darkstar3540 7 років тому

      There is no glass on a Dell Inspiron but the screen itself (He does the screen disassembly at the 9 min mark @). If its not like water which is temporary in most cases you need to buy replacement.
      Its just a few screws and plugs but could be two different types screen CCFL or LED.. You need to get the information on the sticker on the back side anyways to order a replacement but make sure you are unplugged and battery is out first.

    • @Trancelistic
      @Trancelistic 7 років тому

      I guess I can only find that out of I take of the screen?
      Thanks for you answer

    • @darkstar3540

      At this point it has been months so its not water damage. I have gotten water in my screen which is translucent and you can see through it like you mention but it will evaporate out after days or weeks of being subjected to the heat the screen it self generates.(also just being in the sun it catches heat) Anyways if its months later you need a new screen but its not very expensive to do yourself - Like I said though Dell Inspirion made 1/2 their computers like the one you see in the video here. Then 1/2 were made like mine.
      I do not have the same screen (monitor) as the video guys computer. You may not either, so watch a video about just swapping your screen and get to know if your computer is -LED or -CCFL. = Basically pull your battery and unplug charge cable before you take your screen apart but if your cable for the screen is not located at the bottomish end of the screen, (like the one you see in this video = LED) instead its at the close to immediate top of screen and has a secondary cable with two wire plug at bottom of screen = CCFL (However you still need the numbers off the back to order your new part..
      Mine was LTN156AT01 5.6 CCFL cost me about 50$.. But my screen burnt out and was un -usable, where yours may not be at the state where 50$ and spending 5 minutes to swap it out is needed.. You already have been living with it.
      It does sound like liquid damage but the black color I dont know.. maybe oil? some kinda juice even juice would evaporate but it seems like maybe it left behind a residue.. where as oil may not ever evaporate - It is not recommended to actually take your LCD screen apart - Like cutting the tape that holds the actual part together you will see warnings on that anyways after you get the screen out but maybe they just dont want you fixing it yourself rather then buying a new part.

    I can cut the plastic and metal shield right there with a dremel and replace the battery.

    I can't believe the way he is using that power screwdriver to remove those screws in a hurry, If I saw them chewed all to hell, I would let him know how barbaric of a butcher he is. NO good repairman, myself included, would dare consider doing that. I've seen a lot of machines with chewed up screw heads and wondered HOW they got that way? Now I know one more way.

    Hi,
    thanks for comment! If you will decide to do this with your laptop, be careful when you will remove palmrest, specially by the DVD drive. this plastic bar that is basically between palmrest and dvd is very fragile.

      The whole idea was to not to talk like others. Too much bla bla bla. Straight to the point. I have a video that explains in general what is what and how it looks in the laptops. Should probably link it here...

    You have made a very bad choice of background in the video. Dell 1545 laptop is black. Repair platform is black. The light is already insufficient. Also the camera resolution is bad. Even if you are a professor in your field, there is a saying "The one who works with tools is the one who is proud". Here is the same situation. Bad choice, bad video.
