Jack GeF Of course, in the model 50 there will be self-turning wheels for hovermode, and you can fly to space with an electric motor thatuses ion blasters to get there
I'm still in disbelief of the price. This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen, it looks better than all $60,000 cars I've ever seen. Especially with that roof. Tesla's about to flip the whole auto industry on it's head. Next thing you know they have a crazy looking motorcycle and a truck.
The truck has to be their next idea...best way to truly make the change over to sustainable transportation. most people cant afford a truck and an electric car to commute but need the truck so that is their only vehicle.
+Jerm2006 I want to work on their design team, it's the whole reason I'm working on a degree. make the Truck and call it the Model T, and make the motorcycle and call it the Tesla Cycle.
+Timo John It's not just big it's too bright as well for night time. I certainly wouldn't like that. Also the low profile looks rather too low for me for snowy regions -)
+Paul JJ Im sure they will have brightness option in the screen. ik they had that for S and X. I think they were too lazy to put that option in these demo cars
One of the most beautiful cars ive ever seen at a price that i can afford. This thing absolutely smokes the comptetition and above. BMW i3 , Chevy volt and even premium saloons like the AUDI a4 have no chance against this beauty!
+Aaronaitor Of course it's just the wind. It just sounded funny and conjured up a humorous image, especially since it's actually a silent electric car.
+Jay Kae They probably should make the screen smaller and integrate it into the dash. Another improvement add more physical controls for things like climate control and some analog style gauges which would widen it's appeal.
Remember it's unfinished. I'm sure the screen will be nicely integrated, it's clumsy as it is now. I would also prefer a vertical screen, who cares about a potential passenger having better access to it? It should be about the driver.
+Jay Kae I could not agree more. Unfortunately, I've heard multiple times that they are planning on keeping that way, despite that I've heard many people say they want an integrated screen like the Model S and I've heard no one say that they just love the floating LCD screen. Personally, I think it looks like DIY'er made it the way it is. But, I still put down a deposit on one. We'll see, I may pull the deposit if they don't tighten up the looks on the interior
I'm assuming/hoping they're going to add a speedometer above the steering wheel? The big display is fine, but it's a further look from the road from the driver.
They need to offer a HUD (Heads Up Display) in the Model 3. I don't want to glance to the right to see my speed. They could keep the dash flat and it would be much safer!
+Mike AM I think, like many have said, that this is a move towards autonomous vehicles...however, a HUD on the Model III P80D would be freaking sexy as hell.
+A анонимный By the time that is reality in many countries (politics/laws/integration etc) you'll already be getting a new tesla .. so an extra display behind the wheel would be better for now.
I had a Yarris and hated the Center only Display. Never got used to it after 5 years of neck cramps. I would buy this car if they had a heads up display for a Speedometer.
People need to chill the fuck down these cars are just for demonstration, not the final product. Plus they look great already for the amount of time they have left before primetime.
+Sieff He loses money because he doesn't care to gain money from Tesla. At least not yet, and he certainly doesn't need it. He is the 75th richest person in the world after all. Elon just cares to change humanity for the better. Which he is definitely doing with Tesla and SpaceX.
+Highwalker trust me im rooting for him but if he wants to keep making stuff hes gotta at least be able to break even bc the factory thats gonna make the new teslas is not even built yet
My idea would be a curved screen, not like the TVs, but the other way around. So its angled towards Driver AND the guy next to him...And they should integrate it more like in the Model S
+daskriege The solvents and process chemicals required for battery manufacturing release greenhouse gases like sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). SF6 is over 20,000 times as effective in global warming potential as CO2. SF6 gas also decomposes to form some pretty nasty things like sulfur/metal-fluoride gases, sulfur-oxyfluorides and hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids. Hope they will keep their chimneys clean, if they can do this, then its all good.
Thanks for the vid. Please rent or borrow a better camera next time you go to an event like this. Or figure out the manual focus, or focus lock on the one you got.
So it does have the frameless Windows like the model s! Nice! The only thing wrong with the Model 3 is there is no gauges displayed in front of you. It really needs it. Let's hope the final production cars have it.
Yeah I agree. I currently have a lexus is350 and I love the instrument panel. I hope this car has something in store for the driver. Something about having your own gauges....Maybe im just old school? haha
+Noah Revo I doubt that. They will either decide to include the dash in the production model or not. They might include a little head up display but not a classic dash. It would make them look very thrifty to offer dashboard as an extra. I am sure they will now collect opinions and evaluate whether this was a good decision. I think from marketing perspective they must insist that this is all the car needs if they decide to go for it as it is.
+Daniel Sadjadian They removed the dash to move the whole front more forward to give more room, and also lower to give more view. It definitely won't be an option.
+KL Wong True, but remember the cars from 1980s? They had the dashboards all the way forward and there was still plenty space for instruments cluster..
hello Michael did you get the chance to be in the passenger seats during the car? do you think that this car is fitted for 3 young children in the back? what about the front and rear trunks? thanks for your reply.
Description says autopilot is including but it most likely isn't. The safety features are included with no option, and the autopilot hardware is standard, however much like the model S it will probably be an option to enable autopilot features.
+Robert Appleby On a car like the S, their customers are rich enough that they can afford to try to milk a bit more profit by forcing them to pay for Autopilot. On the III though, it seems like a bad business decision, since they're already investing the hardware sensors, and it costs literally nothing to include the software too. And in an increasingly competitive EV market, it'll give their car, even the base model, a heady advantage over the Leafs and Bolts of the world.
Bill Kong Sorry but you will be mistaken... The autopilot features will cost extra, and it won't hurt the sale of the car one bit because even without it, it's a better option than its competition.
Center consoles never worked on the Toyota Yaris or Nissan Primera because they are off center and it's less natural to move your eyes to one side as opposed up and down. Tesla needs to at least have an option of driver side gauges or a HUD and it needs to be able to be retrofitted for the second hand market or if people find they hate it after using it (which they will).
+Randall Collins ... Bloomberg ran an article the other day, "Saudi Arabia Plans $2 Trillion Megafund for Post-Oil Era". They know exactly where this is headed.
+Randall Collins Well to get the power to charge the cars you still need fossil fuels to power the plants that provide the power in the first place, well here in the U.S. anyway, not as much for France since they use mainly Nuclear I believe..
I hate the huge display that looks like a TV hung on the wall. Definitely feel that it should have been incorporated into the dash better. I also wish there were some gauges. Dash loooks very boring.
Great car! For me, Having the gauges on the display to my side instead of right in front of me might be a deal breaker. Its much more simple to look down and analyze my speed instead of to the right. But this car is amazing for the price. Tesla is definitely setting a new standard with this!
+Kopfhoerer02 And there are plenty of "Tesla Fast-charging Stations", where you can charge your car within an hour, for Free. At least in the US there are more than enough to drive around the whole country without paying anything. I don't know if you are allowed to go to these with this less expensive model though :)
How to protect from burglary, specially that gigantour lookalike tablet GPS?! Is there any way to unhook and hook back on?! Is there any way to put an advice into the engine to stop working from the thieves that tries to steal the car?! My siblings and my parents have too many experiences w/ thieves stealing their transportations after they just bought their vehicles. 😱😲😨😫 That's my concerns for my overall families safeties.
The screen is part of the dashboard. The car has an electric motor. No real way to steal it without having the actual key. As far as removing the screen. It looks like it can be removed but in pretty sure it is not remove able like the Model S screen. They made it that way probably for more interior space since it is a smaller vehicle.
They should put 2 screens there, sticked to each other, inspired by multi display desktops, one in portrait mode, and one in landscape. No bezel between them, make them look like they are one. The one in portrait should be on the driver's side, able to be moved, so the driver can turn it facing him, and should have all the essentials on it. Also, I would throw a complex HUD or a simpler HUD, and a small screen in the dashboard, behind the wheel.
That map looks like GTA MAP, the icons are your missions.
+Jose Díaz Look like an F35 menu screen choose targets and fire
Man What's wrong with you, it's NFS Most Wanted..
lol, it totally does
can i get the small screen option... i dont like bright things
Keun Sum no small screen option but it is brighter in this vid than in petson
The real question is: Does the screen turn automatically, when the car is upside down?
+Jack GeF unfortunately, only sideways...
+Tijmen J Ah, thats absolutely sufficient for my driving skills!
+Tijmen J Driving with only 2 wheels through a 1m space? Thug Life ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+Kopfhoerer02 haha, maybe that will be a new autopilot feature :D
Jack GeF Of course, in the model 50 there will be self-turning wheels for hovermode, and you can fly to space with an electric motor thatuses ion blasters to get there
I'm still in disbelief of the price. This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen, it looks better than all $60,000 cars I've ever seen. Especially with that roof. Tesla's about to flip the whole auto industry on it's head. Next thing you know they have a crazy looking motorcycle and a truck.
They sell already more S's than BMW and Mercedes TOGETHER sell upperclass sedans...
I would be interested in a Tesla bike. ridiculous fast!
The truck has to be their next idea...best way to truly make the change over to sustainable transportation. most people cant afford a truck and an electric car to commute but need the truck so that is their only vehicle.
+Joshua Boucher Check out Zero Motorcycles, and Lighting Motorcycles.
+Jerm2006 I want to work on their design team, it's the whole reason I'm working on a degree. make the Truck and call it the Model T, and make the motorcycle and call it the Tesla Cycle.
This is a TV surrounded by a car...
+HendriksPics xD
+HendriksPics It's pure genius.
That screen orientation is going to be much better for streaming porn while I drive. That was my biggest complaint about the Model S.
lmao
+Zazzle Delacruz
there should be a cum collecter which automatically pop out at the time of ejaculation
+silent killer Elon Listened. Its in Production.
LAUGHING MY FUCKIN ASS OFF LOL yea that would be perfect for autopilot lol
+Kieran “And Joan” McHugh lol I have to get this car though
I could miss the gauges alongside that monitor...
ikr
+locotche That really is a big screen... Maybe, well, too big?
+Timo John its smaller than S and X tho
+Timo John It's not just big it's too bright as well for night time. I certainly wouldn't like that. Also the low profile looks rather too low for me for snowy regions -)
+Paul JJ Im sure they will have brightness option in the screen. ik they had that for S and X. I think they were too lazy to put that option in these demo cars

3:31 literally sounds like a rocket launch
+Jehan Kateli I thought the same thing, ha ha. I was picturing huge flames shooting out the back.
+Jehan Kateli You would get that exact same sound sticking a camera out the window of a car going a steady 40mph
That be the wind
+Aaronaitor Of course it's just the wind. It just sounded funny and conjured up a humorous image, especially since it's actually a silent electric car.
+Jehan Kateli that's because the camera phone is outside of the car, and the microphone is picking up the airflow noise.
Awesome job on the video. You really have done the best from what I've seen of showing us what the Model 3 looks like. Thank you!!
The screen looks out of place it should be moar intergrated like the model s
+Jay Kae
They probably should make the screen smaller and integrate it into the dash.
+Jay Kae Even tough I like the size of the screen yeah it looks like someone used duck tape to attach their old samsung widescreen on the car.
+Jay Kae that;s why they can build it so 'cheap'. No dash, just the screen and the computer running everything. No fancy parts.
I miss the HUD and the lights inside :/
nice camera :) it only takes it 10 days to focus on things
I'm assuming/hoping they're going to add a speedometer above the steering wheel? The big display is fine, but it's a further look from the road from the driver.
+tipoomaster Pedometer xd
No, they're not. The driver explained their reasons in the video.
Box0rz Damn it autocorrect!
A pedometer would be useful if it was Flintstones car.
"Watch out, there is a pedobear in the middle of the road"
They need to offer a HUD (Heads Up Display) in the Model 3. I don't want to glance to the right to see my speed. They could keep the dash flat and it would be much safer!
+Mike AM I think, like many have said, that this is a move towards autonomous vehicles...however, a HUD on the Model III P80D would be freaking sexy as hell.
+Mike AM Maybe for extra? As a driver, I would prefer to have the info straight in front of me, without turning my head.
+Mike AM When you have autopilot, adaptive cruise control, everything, it's just useless information.
+A анонимный When you're NOT using autopilot, it's USEFUL information.
+A анонимный By the time that is reality in many countries (politics/laws/integration etc) you'll already be getting a new tesla .. so an extra display behind the wheel would be better for now.
I had a Yarris and hated the Center only Display. Never got used to it after 5 years of neck cramps.
I would buy this car if they had a heads up display for a Speedometer.
lmaooooo
I liked the reply to "are any of you S or X owners?" "All of the above!" hahahah
0:58 Why is Jonathan Frakes sitting in the back?
People need to chill the fuck down these cars are just for demonstration, not the final product. Plus they look great already for the amount of time they have left before primetime.
I wonder what sort of crowd the Model 3 is compared to the S and X. I'd love to see what the demographics are for the reservation holders.
+Andrew Bow the demographics are progressive holders
Scientologists?
Well yeah, that's most likely a given.
Model S had about 90,000 orders, I believe. The Model 3 already has almost 300,000. That's a lot more than the Model S already.
+Andrew Bow Probably the 22-35 range.
Elon Musk is a genius.
+Qritical_91 The engineers.
He loses money on every car he makes so hes smart not a buisness man though
+Sieff He loses money because he doesn't care to gain money from Tesla. At least not yet, and he certainly doesn't need it. He is the 75th richest person in the world after all. Elon just cares to change humanity for the better. Which he is definitely doing with Tesla and SpaceX.
+Highwalker trust me im rooting for him but if he wants to keep making stuff hes gotta at least be able to break even bc the factory thats gonna make the new teslas is not even built yet
Highwalker amen to that
My idea would be a curved screen, not like the TVs, but the other way around. So its angled towards Driver AND the guy next to him...And they should integrate it more like in the Model S
+Beefi I'm sure the engineers discussed that but they are targeting a LATE 2017 delivery for those folks who paid their deposits...
+Beefi very well thought, surely they will use it in the future, a flexible amoled screen
The sexiest news Elon delivered is not the production of Model 3 but a new Giga-plant for lithium bateries. Now thats pure orgasm.
Until it burns in a nuclear like explosion!
+daskriege the thing that 's scary is were will tesla get all the litium they need without destroying the eco
+daskriege Everybody thinks it's about the cars, uhhh no it's the batteries.
+Double J ... if that's true, then it's a hell of a lot easier to trap the SF6 at the plant rather than the CO2 at the tailpipe.
I love Tesla, the model 3, Elon Musk and just about everything related to this company. This is my next car for sure.
+Karim Salloum I hope you've ordered already then or you'll have to wait a long ass time x)
That model 3 was the most badass one👌
Best affordable car
Hopefully they add back the digital dash.. And they can make the screen a bit smaller. At least a 13 inch screen, or something..
Wow thats fast, you are lucky Michael, hope we can have them in the near future in Spain. Revolution it´s here. Did you have the chance to drive it?
Dim feature on the screen? I get annoyed driving at night if my passenger seat friend's iphone is bright...
This video makes me feel good.
+Mark Lucas this video makes wood
what's the name of the song in the beginning of the video? my brain stopped
Thanks for the vid. Please rent or borrow a better camera next time you go to an event like this. Or figure out the manual focus, or focus lock on the one you got.
So will the basic model be 7 seconds 0-60? or all of.the models will reach the "under 6 second mark"?
Namek nope, it starts at 0-60 at 6 seconds, the higher ends will be faster ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
AKzebraMiner its actually 5.6 seconds
AKzebraMiner 5.2
What is the weird light beams in the video.. is that glare from a camera? surely that can't be from the headlights.
Note the 'thumbs down' votes on this video from those frightened people who work in the oil industry.
I would really like a small screen in front of me for a heads up display. like a 6 inch screen mounted in front for my speed and what not
I think a portrait screen is definitely needed. Its one of Tesla's signatures that everyone wants.
So it does have the frameless Windows like the model s! Nice! The only thing wrong with the Model 3 is there is no gauges displayed in front of you. It really needs it. Let's hope the final production cars have it.
+tripjammer I agree with you.
+Bruce G drive it before you judge it
+tripjammer Yes, it's beautiful (ordered one), but really needs gauges/display in front of driver and a 3-spoke steering wheel like the S/X.
Yeah I agree. I currently have a lexus is350 and I love the instrument panel. I hope this car has something in store for the driver. Something about having your own gauges....Maybe im just old school? haha
Nice, same here, coincidentally I have a Lexus IS250 here in Europe (the 350 was never available in EU), and really like it too :)
Why the flat tablet, instead of a flexible multitouch screen with an amazing UI ??? :(
Look good, not too sure about the lack of a drivers dashboard or the rims... but other than that its great.
+Daniel Sadjadian the dashboard MIGHT (I’m just guessing) be an add-on for like 500 or 1000$
Noah Revo I guess they must have removed it to reduce the price? Well if there is an add on then thats great.
+Noah Revo I doubt that. They will either decide to include the dash in the production model or not. They might include a little head up display but not a classic dash. It would make them look very thrifty to offer dashboard as an extra. I am sure they will now collect opinions and evaluate whether this was a good decision. +Daniel Sadjadian They removed the dash to move the whole front more forward to give more room, and also lower to give more view. It definitely won't be an option.
+KL Wong True, but remember the cars from 1980s? They had the dashboards all the way forward and there was still plenty space for instruments cluster..
You didn't show the crash test and air bag function... =)
hello Michael did you get the chance to be in the passenger seats during the car? do you think that this car is fitted for 3 young children in the back? what about the front and rear trunks? thanks for your reply.
The video warping is giving me a slight headache 0_0. Also, those tires are looking close to bald or maybe it's just the lighting.
I like this
How much should I pay to get this model 3 ...?
I use a garmin gps in my Nissan Versa for my speed and its mounted to the right, this will be a good transition for me (I hope)
First front seat video I've seen. Big ups for the phone out the window!! ;)
What is monumental is not a single 35K car has excited people with money as much as this car...Not even a 70k car has excited people like this...
Macan turbo s might
+Alexandr Pulbere You can buy one for 35k? I will take 2..
+Keith Ciaccio the second price you mentioned was 70k
+Alexandr Pulbere 325,000 pre orders for the Porsche?
What would it take to work for these guys...engineering student asking here
+David funny though, a few years back with those credentials you would be able to walk in tesla and leave with a job lol
Well I'm Aerospace Engineering/ Science....probably won't help :/
Future's Electric.... charge it from a solar panel over a weekend maybe? Why not a solar panel body to extend the range a bit?
HMD (helmet mounted display) or VR would be great addition in future.
i like the screen it gives huge potential for future autonomous cars
Why does the camera struggle with focus so much
Ive always loved MIchelle Branch and Santana.
Why people complaining about screen or lack of speedometer? Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple, more space for me next to supercharger.
The lack of a speedometer is not true, it is on that display, I think it would take a while to get used to, but I could get the hang of it
this is not the final dashboard. said musk.
Good because they desperately need an OLED screen for a dark interface this is just annoying
What about a holographic speedometer on the windshield?
Does that screen turn off? It's an annoying distraction
Description says autopilot is including but it most likely isn't. The safety features are included with no option, and the autopilot hardware is standard, however much like the model S it will probably be an option to enable autopilot features.

Why is there a car inside a monitor
great innovative car ! thanks for sharing !
I wish I could afford a Model S and Model X like these guys lol. Reserved the Model 3 though!
I want one! I'm glad they kept the design similar to the other teslas, its the prettiest electric car that will be on the road.
Man, oh man. I want one! I almost wonder what the oil companies are thinking about this. They should be worried!
they'll just buy electric companies
+Randall Collins ... Bloomberg ran an article the other day, "Saudi Arabia Plans $2 Trillion Megafund for Post-Oil Era". They know exactly where this is headed.
+MTEK Smart!
+Randall Collins Well to get the power to charge the cars you still need fossil fuels to power the plants that provide the power in the first place, well here in the U.S. anyway, not as much for France since they use mainly Nuclear I believe..
+Grady Gilchrist you could use hydroelectricity or solar power
What car maker let's you ride in a car they just unveiled?! Tesla is so awesome!
The best part of the Tesla is the lack of need of meddling for ME oil and the fun things that entail that
I hate the huge display that looks like a TV hung on the wall.
Can you tell me if the car had auto-presenting door handles like the S, or push button, like the X? Also was there any discussion of Battery sizes?
Door handles will present according to your configuration.
+spacegreycoralred THey are mechanical.
so how am i going to get girls attention without revving the engine ?
+Nangjelovski Thats not a problem, just attatch extra speakers in the grill that isnt existing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Kopfhoerer02 lol
show them the money you have since you don't pay for gas
KevTheHunter1 How much does electricity cost? I think waay less than gas, but still not nothing
+Kopfhoerer02 And there are plenty of "Tesla Fast-charging Stations", where you can charge your car within an hour, for Free. At least in the US there are more than enough to drive around the whole country without paying anything. I don't know if you are allowed to go to these with this less expensive model though :)
awww man I was hoping for a trip on the interstate...darn it
6"2' in the back and still 2' to go, works just fine for me too, same size here.
Name of song playing at the beginning of this video clip, please?
at 35xxx most people will try to buy it... but that monitor needs to be more secure. or tesla provide a small screen less jack-able option
i dont like that it doesnt have an instrument cluster . makes it akward to check your speed . other than that looks great
I guess that screen is to watch movies once you select the autopilot haha
Do the displays have brightness dimming and temperature shift like iPhone? I can see that getting very tiresome at night.
+Allen Wixted I suspect the camera is making that display look brighter than it really is. That's why it looks so over-exposed and blurry.
MrXtraconservative I dont count it, still though a colour temperature shift and brightness control would be very useful and prevent eye strain
Do you guys recommend me selling my mercedes E class 2013 model and buying the Tesla model S3 instead???
no, a better replacement for mercedes E class was the model s, not the model 3
Glad to see all those F150 trucks around the building :D
How to protect from burglary, specially that gigantour lookalike tablet GPS?! Is there any way to unhook and hook back on?! can't wait to get mine! . it would be nice if it had airless tires.
Great video.
+Michael Gardner Does it have door storage?
Does it have 4k and hdr? If not i wont buy. I need to play my ps4 pro while at traffic lights.
did you see that roof? see through.
what can you complain about with model 3?
But does it have a drift mode?
no rear camera?
what for spots are shining out of headlights?
i think i might miss the speedometer but its nothing i can't get used to
wats wrong with the headlights
The acceleration is amazing!
Me gusta mucho Tesla y lo que estan haciendo, una pena que no pueda comprar un model 3 soy de clase media baja o baja, sueño inalcanzable...
where the Air vents are located??
They should put 2 screens there, sticked to each other, inspired by multi display desktops, one in portrait mode, and one in landscape. No bezel between them, make them look like they are one. Can you ram into a utility pole at 100 miles per hour and live? It's the last question I have before I buy this car.
antuan XII actually YES, YOU WILL!... the model 3 is designed to achieve 5 stars in all safety categories
where is the charge port?
Were the Speedometer?
top left corner. it hard to tell with all the bright lights on the screen but look closely
Oh ok thankyou
You're welcome :)
Great song on the dash
how many beers did your camera drink before recording this vid?
where is the speedometer?
A shorter wheel base can be problematic on very icy roads. It will be interesting to see how well it performs on slippery streets.
+Rick Nash Shorter than what? A Cadillac Escalade? Or a Smart Fortwo?
why no dashboard tho? like, speedo, battery life, etc
+Rick James Everything is displayed on touchscreen, I'm sure the display can be custiomized for better sensor readings
