This is the kind of color I want to have in my own work...darker with muted tones ..beautiful. Seems the best way is water color which would work well with my color pencil. Such amazing work Sam. 🙏👁🙏
I completely love your artwork ... I feel like it tells a story and watching your videos has helped me a lot in my watercolour skills
This is really cool! I enjoyed watching you paint. Actually, it made me want to paint now, just by watching you!
Thank you! And GOOD! That's the BEST compliment.
Very very very nice indeed.
Thank you
wow. gorgeous & mesmerizing :) I didn't know about the brown watercolor tape either, lol.
Tiffany England that tape is the devil, but I need it haha
If you're talking about the water activated type tape, you actually can rewet it to get it off the paper. That may not be what you were talking about however. Love this piece by the way!
WOW! so inspiring! i paint watercolors too and not gonna lie, seeing you paint this scene makes me want to redesign my tarot ideas to incorporate a whole scene like yours, instead of just one animal portrait. It really gives the complexity that i feel tarot should have, and just wow. thanks for inspiring me so much!
Thank you! This is always a nice thing to hear.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you!
This is s beautiful that its almost inhuman, how can a person be so good
Oh my, that's far too kind. Thank you c:
i love this so much. all your work is amazing, honestly, and such an inspiration for me as a fellow artist...thanks for sharing the video and keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much, it never fails to make me happy when I hear my work is inspiring others. Keep arting!
I use the bulldog clips to stretch my paper and it works fine. You just can't leave any gaps. It has to be a solid line of bulldog clips. You had large gaps between each one, which means those segments of paper weren't being held taut.
I'm glad to hear it works for you. It definitely wasn't the solution for me, though. The brown paper tape seems to work well for me now.
This is gorgeous, thank you for sharing.
Wow! this is beautiful work, you are amazing XD
Thank you c:
Gorgeous
Thanks!
PLEASE make a video showing how to print out artwork on a printer on watercolour paper!! Great art subject matter, I love it
It's really easy, just takes some experimenting. Basically you put the watercolor paper through the manual feed and mess around with the printer settings so that it matches the size and weight of the watercolor paper. Then print the linework. Let me know how it goes!
CobraDove Consider that the ink in printers generally consists of dyes that will fade, unless you have a specific pigmented ink capable printer. So I would recommend going over the line work with a permanent ink based liner pen or similar, if you want the lines to remain prominent.
Do you soak your watercolor paper before taping it down?
What kind of printer do you have which can print on watercolor paper?
Caitlin Rogers Technically you can get any printer to print on watercolor paper, you just have to be sure the ink doesn't bleed. I haven't had much of an issue with any inkjet printer I've had, but I've been using a Epson WF-7610 and I'm currently fixing up an Epson Stylus Photo R2000 (but you don't need anything that fancy for printing lines). I used to have a canon, and some of the ink would wash away when I stretched the paper, but I haven't had that issue with the epson.
I loved your tutorial and your piece. Maybe make your videos louder; I can barely hear you.
I've fixed the audio for newer videos, I'm definitely really quiet in this one.
Very nice work! I'm curious, what watercolor brand do you like to use? :) Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! I'm partial to Daniel Smith- their pigments are like candy. I do have a lot Windsor Newton too, as DS paints tend to be on the expensive side.
Beautiful! What type of paper are you using?
Thanks! I believe it was arches hot press, probably 140lb or higher.
I have been curious at trying hot press for my Tarot art, as i'm looking for something smoother for detail and scanning in. Do you find it hard to blend? I've heard hot press can be tricky.
Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm partial to hot press because I do a lot of detail work, I don't think I've had much trouble blending but we may work very differently. If you do a lot of washes and rely on the texture of watercolor you might have a hard time adjusting because the cold press paper really brings out the beautiful textures and granulation that watercolor can have. I would test it out and see how you feel about it before dedicating to it fully.
Thank you :)
Voice is quite hard to hear 😅
I know :c This is an old video, but I think I've fixed the issue in my newer videos.
wow great video, i also make art video, go ahead and check the, out 😊
Thanks!
