You wouldn't believe that this idea came to me about 2 years ago and I still couldn't start with it...... Ur literally the type of artist no one can imagine to be....
Glad my feed showed me your channel. Thank you for posting this. After studying your work, I'm now boosted to finish my 5 piece watercolor project. I'm on the 3rd one since late last year and haven't gone back to it since. May have to start over. Thank you again for sharing. Beautiful work.
Wow, what an awsome piece of art. I was sitting in front of the video with my mouth open all the time and didn't realize how time was passing by. I really enjoyed watching.
Love the concept. So true, sometimes I really feel like putting on different masks depending on the situation. And the execution is stunning, thanks for sharing!
thank you for once again sharing your process with us. i love seeing other artists working. it's very inspiring and gives me a whole new appreciation of the artist and their works.
Ok whoooouw!!! Because every single detail about this piece is so satisfying. You are truly talented from how well executed your concepts are to how skilled you are. A big inspiration indeed 😊 God bless and have a nice day🌸🍃
Photo reference, combined with the knowledge I've picked up in figure drawing. If you check out the tutorial at www.wyliebeckert.com/process, you can see some of the photos I used for reference.
Wooooh:O I really appreciate it when artists who know what they are doing take that extra time to make a tutorial out of their work and share it with the world. Because while I can get a lot from watching sped up process videos it's pretty much like learning to play the piano by ear, it may sound good but when you don't know why it does your learning with an invisible handicap:P So yeah, if you haven't gotten any appreciation lately, or even if you have, here's some more. Thank you, you rock, and I love your work!^o^
Wiijii Fidelity i think in the case of professional 50% of the time adapted from reference is a better phrasing, since sometimes people just make reference boards and pick whatever they like. I know this is what reference means in some cases but separating adapting from normal allows me to differentiate between methods.
You have so much skill and it is so inspiring for young artists. It may take time to get to the level you want to be, but it's totally worth it when you have the ability to make masterpieces like this. Your knowledge on anatomy must be amazing.
beautiful. love your style and really creative original pieces. great stuff. was recently watching your older vids so is awesome to see something new from you. thanks for sharing.
i think they taped it down by stretching the paper to prevent it from wrinkling. Or they prepped it first by saoking the paper and letting it dry. Not sure tho.
what an absolutely wonderful depiction of such an important topic, this is gorgeous, and very well shot i might add - the details, colors.. all comes out so well in this. hats off, to this! Beautiful!
This piece is just too deep. I'm glad I found your channel and I'm enjoying your blog as well . Everything is soo interesting especially the meanings behind the pintings.
KuMiis The paper is stretched beforehand, this invovles wetting the paper and attaching it to a board, as you can see with the black tape. This stops the paper from buckling much more than normal.
oh , thanks for the immediate reply. i ve just been taping my paper(hotpressed) without wetting it...it does help but doesn't completely negate the bumpy effect..
It's always nice watching how you work. May I ask what is your setup to record it? I hope it's not too uncomfortable having the cam over, because it's awesome that you share the video with us :)
Hi. Great transition from start to finish. May I ask how you transferred the line work to the paper without error lines? Was it marked on back of another sheet, laid down over new working surface and rubbed over?
This is one of my favorite paintings from you... Why don't you sell prints? Wouldn't mind having a poster print of this. Been looking for something like this for the longest time, to only find out that I can't even get a printed copy.
How is this style/drawing technique called where you draw in a stylized but also realistic way, outlining the shapes with lines. It is like game art style, but does it have a name?
I love how soft the gradients are that you're able to get. It's incredibly impressive.
Every single piece you do is amazing.

I LOVE the way you draw. Seriously. ❤
Perfect. Art itself is the most beautiful thing.
Your anatomy is really on point, do you take photo reference or is it from scratch?

Very much. Sometimes slightly stylized but always spot on. Neat stuff.
News flash: the vast majority of the illustrations you see in print or online is derived from reference. It's just childish to think that they arent.

KuMiis No problem, I'm sure if you just search up watercolour paper stretching there will be some in depth tutorials, both video and step by step.
Do you tape it, then wet it and let it dry completely? And then leaving it taped, paint on it after that?
He explains how he stretches his paper here: wickedkingdomdeck.com/?show=paperstretch
