Thank you so much for the kind words, you're so lovely! 💖 I popped a link above, it should take you to the shop and automatically add the coupon too - let me know if you have any issues :)
I can't believe you are new to these mediums OR to UA-cam. This is awesome and very helpful. Please keep making videos! I subscribed and I will watch them all!
Beautiful! Your colors are gorgeous and I very much appreciated the voice over of where you were struggling. I am interested in trying my hand at gouache so I found that very informative. You certainly have me as a new subscriber! And thank you in advance about the artist you mentioned. I have a feeling I will love her stuff and I always love how generous artists are in their community.
Aw thank you so much! I'm glad you found it helpful, I try to be as honest as possible about my experience with mediums :) My next video is another gouache one that you might like too (up next week) Oh yes she's an amazing artist, I'm sure you'll love her too! Perhaps I could do a video covering other artists as inspiration and good resources - I'm always happy to share! :D
Also it's so funny that you mention Happy D. Artist because she's my favorite youtube artist, she's so talented! I knew there was a reason I liked your work so much :)
Absolutely spectacular piece. I agree about it being a series, only I would stick with the seasons. This is an art nouveau sort of style. I see the plant life you were going for only I also see this as the autumnal piece. It's as if her head was a mushroom bursting from fallen leaves. The line work is phenomenal and the colors are perfect.
Aw thank you so much! 😘 I've received a few comments on the art nouveau style but I'll be honest, it's a complete coincidence, I'm not entirely sure I could do it again 😂 I love your take on the piece, I hadn't seen it that way before but now you've mentioned it, it's very clear! Thank you for such a thoughtful and sweet comment! ❤️
this is reallllly beautiful!!!! i feel like the technique you used would suit watercolor really well! you would probably really enjoy it because you fancy those pastel soft colors.
Thank you for the kind words! ❤️ Yes definitely going to play around with watercolours some more, and hopefully try push the gouache further too as I'm certainly not getting the most out of the medium :)
I know this comment is late, but I am excited to have this channel pop up in my recommend feed. As soon as the video started I immediately thought pop surrealism, Happy D and James Jean coming to mind! :) well done.
Wow I can't believe you are new to these mediums because you used them so beautifully, I never would have even guessed 😍 if you still need suggestions, narcissus flowers are beautiful :) can't wait to see more of your work!
Thank you for such a lovely comment! ❤️ I just googled narcissus and it's showing daffodils, paperwhites and jonquils - I'm not sure what the difference between them really are, perhaps size? Thanks for the suggestion too! :D
Ahh I knew there was another name for them, for some reason I always forget it even though it's the more common name haha but daffodils are the same thing :)
Hello LittleSqueesh, we at ZenART think this does not like like a first video at all! You are so talented! Thankful you used our watercolor brushes! Have a great creative day ;)
Congratulations on your first video ♡ What a great success ! Onward and upward, I'm looking forward to hearing your perspective along your adventure through different art mediums, as I've also traveled that road 😉
Sorry for the late reply, thank you so much your comment was so sweet! I'd love to hear more about your experiences with different mediums and where you ended up (or if you're still exploring!)
LittleSqueesh .. Hi 'Squeesh, I'm still playing with different creative mediums, I dont know if I'll ever settle down to one favourite in time, but for now I'm just enjoying the journey 😉 you can see some of my work in different mediums on instagram @reportage11 😊 my latest has been a lino carve and ink print !
I LOVE the piece! Would like to mention that the way the camera is angled is making me a little dizzy/ disoriented, I don't know if this is a problem for anyone else but I thought I'd mention it. Great work!
Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that! Just having another look, I wonder if it's because it's a slightly titled angle? I'm quite sensitive to camera work and motion sickness myself! This is the first video I ever recorded, I think it's improved since then, but thank you for the feedback, I'll certainly keep an eye on this in the future!
Oh wow 💜💜💜 I think this is simply amazing. I love the soft pastels and the simplicity of the composition. I have been following Happy D Artist for ages now but I don't understand why it's taken me so long to find you... lol. I'm currently creating pop surrealism myself using graphite, coloured pencils and watercolour. I'm still struggling with confidence eventhough friends have told me my work is really really good but I just can't bring myself to show off complete pieces. I think your art is just amazing and beautiful and your voice overs are great I look forward to seeing your other videos
Aw you're so sweet, thank you! 💗 Sorry it's taken me so long to reply! Oh I love Happy D's work, she's a big inspiration of mine too :) I used to struggle a lot with confidence too, infact I still don't often share my art on my personal social media, but on accounts/places that's only dedicated to my art. You may enjoy the book 'Show Your Work' by Austin Kleon (his first book 'Steal Like an Artist' is also great!) I found them to be quite inspirational and read those just before I started my youtube channel. Or perhaps you could try small art groups on Facebook? I'm in quite a few that have a huge range of talents and skill level and everyone is encouraged to post. I hope you get the confidence to share your work, I'd love to see it some time :)
This video inspired me to get into gouache painting! I ordered my set and I'm eager to get started. Thanks for giving so much detail and painting such a fantastic piece!
Oh wow I'm so happy I could inspire you so much that you went and got yourself some gouache! That's amazing! Please let me know how you get on with it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :) Thanks for the lovely comment!
This is absolutely beautiful! I just found your channel and I’m definitely going to subscribe. I don’t know if you’d be able to fit this flower into this style painting, but my favorite flower is the calla lily. I love how elegant and beautiful they are. I’d love to see how you could possibly work them into one of your paintings! Thank you for sharing this process! ❤️
Thanks for the lovely comment! 💗 Funnily enough, I had created a mock-up with a calla lily, I wasn't 100% sure it worked so I left it to revisit with fresh eyes later... and forgot about it, oops! 😂🙈I'll add it to my list of potential new paintings so I don't forget again, lol!
Great job on your first video! I love this piece. The monochromatic color scheme is very interesting. Also, Happy D. is great! I adore her! Can't wait to see what you create next.
It depends on what reference photos I can get hold of and if they fit together nicely, but I'll certainly put Daffodil's on the list and see what I can find :D Thanks for your comment
This is breathtaking ,very delicate..not like HappydArtist. I have been on her subs for ages ..love her Mermaids..your work is beautiful, don’t know why your nervous or worried 😀
This does not like like a "first video" at all! Lovely sound quality, editing.. While in a way this is a video of paint drying, it was fascinating! Gief Moar!!!! Personally I'd love to see you work on a sketch idea, and how you decide on your colours and stuff. And the way you talked about the process was both entertaining and educational, which is a winning combo imo. My one suggestion is to add more cat into your vids, and then you'll be UNSTOPPABLE!
i know this is late, but how do i learn to draw? are there techniques other than outlining rusty railroad spikes, lanterns, and old boots and then basically shading them? i'm getting nowhere!!!! any advice would be appreciated. i cannot afford classes, so i'm teaching myself. thank you.
hey! This is beautiful. You are doing a great job. Can you please tell me how much time it took you to do this piece? I was a little discouraged about starting to use gouache after I read somewhere that a single piece might take weeks.
Aw no, don't let anyone discourage you! I think whoever said it could take weeks was speaking from their own personal experience, for example mine can take a week or 2 because I'm a full time mother first and can only work a couple of hours here and there, plus I enjoy working slowly :) I could finish a piece within a couple of hours if I planned it really well and focused hard during that time (I tend to watch netflix on the side and just enjoy slow layering). I've seen many other artists working in gouache who can work fast - gouache is a fast drying paint so there's really no reason for it to take a long time to finish (unlike oil paint which is slow drying and often requires layers) It really depends on the artist themselves :) I think this one took perhaps around 5 hours split over a few days? Thanks for the kind words, I hope you find a medium that works for you, it's often about experimenting :)
I will be eventually, yes! I'm waiting until I have finished all paintings for an exhibit and then I'll order prints of everything I've made :) I'll probably announce when they're for sale in a video, thanks for the interest! ❤️
This is one of my favorite pieces ever put out on UA-cam. Is there a way to purchase?
Aw you're so sweet, thank you
LittleSqueesh Oh Em Gee!! I'm going to check it out now!!! You are such a blessing to the art world. Thank you for sharing your art with me!!!
LittleSqueesh will you add a link to ur shop?

This is such a pretty painting and you make it look so easy too!!
Aw thank you! ❤️ It certainly didn't feel easy while doing it if that helps! 😂
Morning Glory flowers! They're a fave and I wonder what you could do with them! Beautiful piece, btw, Little Squeesh!
That's such a beautiful piece!
Aw thank you so much!

I just now discovered this page!!! your art is awesome
She is stunning! Excellent work!
Thank you!
Great first video! Lovely piece!
Thank you!
I really like your paintings and your channel. I am also a fan of Happy D. Artist. Love surrealist paintings.
Thank you! She's just great isn't she - I never new this pop-surrealism type of genre existed until recently, I'm so in love :)
Hey! I just discovered your channel and I love your paintings! I like the softness and the pastel colors you used. Keep going!
Thanks for the kind words, Laura! I don't normally enjoy pinks but I did with this :)
That's great! Stepping out of your comfort zone can have very surprising results :D
Exactly what I'm trying to do, traditional art itself is out of my comfort zone, hah!
Indeed! I might even attempt a video too :D
Oo I'd love to see that! Let me know if you do one :D
I love hibiscus and the white orchid. :)
Fantastic choices, I wouldn't have thought of hibiscus (but white orchids are one of my favourites!) ❤️

i wonder if you could make something like this with Daffodil flowers? i wonder how ypu would portray a creature in that kind of flower. thanks!
It depends on what reference photos I can get hold of and if they fit together nicely, but I'll certainly put Daffodil's on the list and see what I can find :D Thanks for your comment

Stunning! How about roses? My favorite flower.
A classic choice!
amazing!
i love the colors =)
+1 subscriber
Thank you, much appreciated!
keep up the good work :3
im surely going to be around!
will you be selling prints of this?
I will be eventually, yes! I'm waiting until I have finished all paintings for an exhibit and then I'll order prints of everything I've made :) I'll probably announce when they're for sale in a video, thanks for the interest! ❤️
That looks like Camilla D Errico's style but in a more realistic way and her drawing anime book is awesome so is her painting book
Wow that's a lovely compliment, I love her work! Thank you 😍
Super cute
Thank you!
