    Common Voltages are 120 (110/115), 208 (200), 230 (220/240), 460 (440/480), 575 (600), VAC (volts of alter- nating current) with a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz. Welding power source transformers are designed to work with these voltages. Most welding power sources are made to operate on more than one primary voltage value.

    So what is the spark plug for? Why do you need a 30,000V insulator for something that operates on 24V? Why not just connect the wire straight to the welding rod? In fact, instead of wrecking two expensive batteries, why not buy a $50 stick welder?

    24 Volts is low for stick welding . Not at all, it depends on the filler rod being used. Stick welding is done with a “constant current” power supply which means that the current output will be constant, but the voltage can float depending on the arc length

    He would get better and more powerful results if he had kept the diesel engine from where the spak plug came. The bigger that diesel engine, the better the ground will be
    Specially if someone turn the drive shaft slowly. Then one by one the 16 spark plugs will ignite weld with plenty of time to cool off. Good work you did´ i´m impress. May be use of propane or butane gaz to avoid oxygen contamination would help your weld.

      I believe the cable from the batteries was connected to the set screw, tapped into the spark plug base, that also clamped to the welding electrode. The problem with the whole setup, as I see it, is that if you tried to run a continuous bead, even for a couple of seconds, the voltage would decay rapidly, and you couldn't maintain the arc. That is why he spot welded with a cool down between each arc. Even using this spot-welding technique, the batteries would likely turn to garbage before very long.

    • @ARCSTREAMS
      @ARCSTREAMS 4 місяці тому +1

      @@rossk4864 yeah the batteries will def die fast but he simply fed the electrode through the ceramic holder then tightened a screw which i doubt broke through the flux on the rod to establish conductivity so i'm still puzzled

      I predict about two to four inches of bead and the batteries would need to be recharged or replaced. Batteries do not like to be shorted in this manner. I am also pretty certain that when the batteries are shorted, the voltage and current would collapse and you would not get enough heat for good weld penetration.

    Se usar um carregador de bateria com entrada de 220 v e saída para 12v, acho que também daria. Vou tentar.

      Que palhaçada 😮
      Primeiro: Faz dos outros estúpidos... E alguns são realmente porque acreditam em tudo!
      Segundo: Compra-se máquinas de soldar fabricadas para o efeito, mais baratas que 2 baterias !
      Esta treta de vídeos deveriam ser punidos... Não deixa de ser uma burla.
      Tentam ganhar algo à custa da estupidez de outros.

    Also ich nehme statt der Zündkerze nur noch einen Isolan-Porzellator. Zur Reserve habe ich mir mit einem Trennschleifer mehrere von einem Freileitungsmast (20 kV) abgeschnitten. Kann ich empfehlen, wundervolles Feuerwerk 🎆🎇
