I have the exact same setup. My omni is configured as a throttle, with the X axis unlocked as well. It's just more versatile that way, as you can play both 6DoF and 4DoF games without having to take it apart every time you want to switch genres. The X axis being unlocked is hardly a problem in plane games.
Actually stumbled on this while un-boxing mine! Been dreading the bindings but we will see..I went with dual omni throttles - left & right of course...
@@mcgibs Sill struggling! The gal map & camera suite is giving me fits..lol..Made the mistake of "blanking" the binds in settings 1st so there are NO defaults for new situations...Oh well - LOVE the sticks - sooo smooth- got em in 8 days too!!..
Yeah ... I must admit they are still going strong .. ! Well worth the price .. I will be doing a Key bind video soon so keep an eye out and will be asking for feedback
You mention at the 6:27 mark that you still have to find the zero mark for the throttle if you remove the y-axis springs, but that you're used to it with X-52 anyway. I currently have an X-52 Pro, and I popped the body of it open and removed the built in detents at the 33% and 67% marks, and then just rolled a small piece of paper up and put some masking tape over it right on the outside of the round part of the throttle where it goes into its case (kind of hard to describe what I mean) and taped it at the 0 mark for the throttle. Basically, I removed the internal detents and manually created an external detent at the 50% mark so I can still a marker for 0. That way, at the 0 mark, the throttle hits a slight resistance for me so I know I'm at 0, and then I don't have to find it. Do you think there'd be a way to do the same thing on this one, or would it interfere with the x-axis movement if you put an external detent in it? I really don't like the idea of not having a detent at the 0 mark for the throttle, mainly because I really enjoy doing exploration stuff, and on a planet, I don't want to miss the 0 mark and accidentally crash or something. I really, really like this design overall, but that could be a deal breaker for me. I also use rudder pedals for yaw. Do you think those would interfere at all with the other joysticks? I currently use Joystick Curves for setting up curves externally to ED because it doesn't have an internal curve editor, so basically everything runs through a virtual joystick interface using vJoy. Then, when I hop into my SRV, I can use the alternate axis on my rudder pedals (what would be airbrakes in a regular flight sim) for acceleration and brake, and yaw on my right hand joystick for turning. I wish there was a way for me to test this before I dropped $300-$400 on the setup.
Just ordered mine, can't wait to try them out. My old HOTAS, a dinky little thrustmaster tflight 4 I got for like $10, is on it's last legs, major mis input with roll and yaw, I don't even touch it and my ship is rolling and yawing, and upping the deadzone does nothing lol If you're still using this setup, any chance you can post the keybinds file? Edit 5/19/2023: Well, they arrived today, gotten a few hours with them and my word this is absolutely amazing haha sucks I gotta re-learn my keybinds, but this is so much nicer than HOTAS by far.
Can anyone please refer me to a source that can set the buttons to the NXT sticks as shown in this video? I don't understand it too well. I need a button-by-button showing how to set the sticks to the game. Take me by the end if you will. I don't read too well. Please help. Thanks.
Starts playing game with 2xt16000m + throttle, 1 week later I'm already eyeing vbk and wondering how to convince the wife... This video is not helping my restraint 🤣😂❤️
Haha ,,, I feel your pain .. Having use them for a while I would say it would be worth just buying them and dealing with the fall out .. totally worth it ! haha

True ... it felt a little strange at first but is becoming more natural now .. will be tested when I try and master FA off soon ! haha
Please make a video on setting up the controls! I just ordered a twin stick set

I only have a left omni, the right is regular gladiator. Dual omnis must be pretty neat though, like some kind of space motorcycle.

use one of the unused hats for subsystem targeting

Nice ... Did you go for a twin stick setup ??
Can you do a walk through on the set up for the sticks in elite
Hi .. Sure thing .. ! You mean the key bindings >??
@@silentangst7742 yes ! I do not know how to see sticks in elite settings for controls
