Years ago I was in an auto acident and broke my back, and so was home for 3 months except for doctor's visits, and had just replaced an X56 with bad connector/cable with twin Thrustmaster 16000 (left and right). Having anything on top of the desk except papers and a monitor is just plain bad ergonomics, and made a bad experience even worse (failing sensors and the sticks to high to be comfortable). At that time I invested in a sim racing chair set-up and tried the Logitech G29 with peddles and gear shifter. During COVID I got extra arms and plates so I could try HOSAS properly with VKB EVO set-up on my racing chair (the 16000s having completely failed by this time). Having the flight sticks down at a proper height is a big help, it is just relaxing having your arms at your side. I still have not managed to customize everything about the VKB buttons, yet I have changed the springs and dry clutch to my liking. I might add the STEC to my set-up in the near future.

I engineered my Type 8 light, fast, and far jumping. Been using it to farm HGEs and Raw mats from crystalline nodes, and it is A BEAST. I’m getting 56 LY, boost 504 with dirty drag D-rated thrusters, size 7 fuel scoop which is insane, and 4D efficient shields just for safety. This thing can chew through 200,000 LS in SCO using less than half a tank of fuel and a heatsink or 2! Can fit it for hauling 352 tons shielded with size 5 scoop, collecting, jumping/exploring… a very fun and versatile ship!

Engineering has been dramatically reduced? That's literally the reason I quit. After I fully engineered my Exploraconda and was trying to start on my Corvette I just gave up. It was too mind-numbingly boring and stupid (like seriously, how were they ok with the log out/in nonsense?)

Do you have to adjust your mouse sensitivity for this? Any time I've accidentally knocked FA off turned out to be a nightmare and the controls became supersensitive

Nice, subscribed. It will be interesting to watch your progress. I tried to set up double sticks this week again, but will probably switch back to HOTAS. Vertical and lateral thrusters seemed to be less responsive than I'm used to from my HOTAS. Maybe just bad calibration and response curves setttings. I'm flying FA Off about 50% of time, usually I lose control in some wilder maneuvers in combat. Good luck with your training! o7

The Gladiator's have a history of being the best mid tier sticks on the market. We'll see how they compare against Winwing and Virpil's new midrange sticks. But many people are saying VKB will still be the dominant brand in the mid tier range. I would say VKB makes good mid tier priducts, but their previous high tier sticks did not have the best design. The Mk i - Mk iii gunfighters had flawed grip and base connectors. But the mk iv has tried to improve on this, so perhaps it's better now. The Gladiator series does not suffer from the issue the mk i - mk iii gunfighters do. The Gladiator uses a wired connector for the grip to the base, while for the Gunfighters the contacts are hard built into the grip and base structure, sometimes causing connection issues. And for those of you who think you need a high tier stick to fly well, there are many top pilots in Star Citizen who use Gladiators. Gladiators are very close to a high tier sticks, You've still got high quality dual cams. In summary, I would say if you want a mid tier stick, Gladiator's are a great idea. Upgrading to high quality mid tier sticks will improve your enjoyment and skill. without breaking bank.

Not enough cmdrs take the time to master there craft. It makes the game so much more engaging making all the fairly simple tasks or missions enjoyable because it’s a challenge. I took the time to master it and I’m so glad I did. Good luck cmdr 👍🏽

Been playing since 2014. I find the best way to fly, after learning f/a off, is to switch between f/a on and off.

I have an evo scg left with thq module and nxt scg right. HoToSaS. It's the best of both worlds since you get the 6dof and lazy flying. Prior to adding the thq module I was using voice attack to set speeds but this is just better as you come out of hyperspace at whatever the throttle is currently set and it's more granular than creating voice attack macros which bind to 25/50/75/100% throttle.

So with flight assist off is classic Newtonian physics, a body in motion, stays in motion unless acted upon by an opposing force.

I also have the Python Mk II. It is a superb combat ship. I'll share my current weapon loadout. Up front, I use gimbaled weapons and Flight Assist. You may consider those crutches but whatever. I have four 3C fragment cannons engineered with double shot and screening shell. I also have two 2D beam lasers engineered with short range. In HRES sites, I can quickly strip the enemies' shields using the beam lasers and then proceed to quickly tear down their hull with the fragment cannons. It works very well for me.

Ordered these on June 7, they shipped on the 11th and I had them installed by evening on the 13th. Still working on the binds, but I love the way they feel.

I have 3 Pacifiers and 2 beams on my Krait. Would like to see this with 4 Pacifiers.

Atm i have a TM Warthog but i dont find it to great for ED so ive been looking at this setup. Would ya say its better then the warthog or worse due to the plastic contruction and layout?

The omni throttle for me personally sounds like something I would be using, some of these space flight games if you turn off assistance you need to keep pressure on your ventral thrusters to keep a hover. I can see the twist in this direction really helping keep things smooth.

So no forward/back thrusters, only throttle? I guess that makes sense, seeing how you converted from HOTAS. Edit: P.S. Have you considered dual omni-throttle, to balance it out? Just a thought.

Quite honestly the best review of these sticks I've ever seen something you forgot to mention as well is all the sticks standard and premium can be upgraded or downgraded easily you can go from a standard to a premium for about $40 with a kit that they sell that replaces the buttons and adds a rapid fire trigger and the omni throttle can actually be convert it to a straight up and down stick but again and you can change out the springs in them as well to change the tension for a more personalized feel of what you like like I said this was a great review I'll be sharing it with anybody who is looking to pick up a set of nxt's

Interesting to see a review that actually criticizes it a bit. Have you seen VKBs throttle? It looks good, but i feel like the omni stick is probably better for space/6dof games.

VKB you will never get stick drift , they use hull effect sensors , its based on magnetic fields

I do agree - the X52 throttle feels so nice and ergonomic ! ... but after a decade, it has to go snd can't be replaced since it's the old saitec one (not the bad continuation of Logitech).
