I’m a 30+ skater but crooked grind is one I never lost! No matter what trucks I use I always find that the more I pinch, the easier it is to actually hold the crooks for super long stable grinds. Speed, wax, and pinch is all you need.
Same age but I lost crooks like that, it makes me so mad. When I was a teenager I could hold them forever, after getting back to skating I can only do a few feet
I feel like this is something old masters do with their craft to fit their specific needs. It's not really a tip for someone trying to learn the trick for the first time, but still a really fascinating method used by one of the best. The video about Jaime Foy's loose wheels for locking into round rails comes to mind as well.
I use to have issues with crooks sticking. I had always used square edge wheels and watched Ben Degros video awhile back, switched to rounds and it really helped me out. I tend to not mess with my trucks very often as it tends to mess with me on flip tricks.
Hey since your trucks are loose another easy trick to learn is feebles. Not on a rail but a ledge. The secret is to keep your shoulder in line with the ledge, make sure you have some weight on the front to stop the rotation and haul ass. Jamie Thomas and Mike Carrol are people who have these on lock.
@@boogie.. You know it's one of those tricks not a lot of people do any more. I think it's one of the funniest ledge tricks. If you ever want to learn the Suciu grinds it's necessary because the way your shoulders work.
Used to have the same issue when i skated. I gound for me to focus om jamming the nose in with much more of the side of your foot. This makes it easier to sit your weight into the nose you dont have to feel like ypu are balancing on your toes. I dont skate anymore but i love to see you learn bro!
your a got damn genius how you even come up with the science behind it? growing up ive tried the truck trick and hated it now that im older i may try it again
If you like the fit that is good enough :) that’s the way I go about it myself. On the topic of bushings, I don’t think I ride loose enough to need two top bushings. I’m really happy with the way my thunder 149’s pinch already.
dress up like the local joe and eventually people will be making vids of being local joe for a day, and testing local joes favorite set up parts. Youre you my man you dont need to always look and skate like your favorite pros. YOUR progression is why we tune in, not the pros
Hey can you please shoot me a dm about this - he rides two top bushings for each truck? so he takes the bottom bushing out of each truck and has four top bushings total? How do you compare this with the Daewon way of no bushing or shaving them down as he suggests? Just curious about your thoughts with this stuff... I'm curious to try it out myself..
So it's weird because your weight when you pop is kinda over your toes and stays that way during the grind HOWEVER the pressure of the grind needs to be on your heel while keep your body slight over your toes. Weight over toes, Pressure on the heel and you'll get it!
Okay great! I’ll try it out tomorrow also love your videos you bring an whole new perspective of understanding the trick truly unique keep up the great vids man!
Do you think this would be good on indys? I ride indys with bones bushings medium. I think I might just get two medium bushings and do the two top ones. I already ride two top ones on my back truck, since I like to have even more give on the turn, but for my front truck I like a bit more control. Wait I’ve been riding my bushing like this 😂 Didn’t even realize it. Definitely want new bushings either way

when will front smith guide come out
More weight on the back foot when you pop and lean back
Gonna try this hack to see if it fixes my crooks. Would you advise to Ollie then land on top of the ledge or force your truck into the ledge
ollie first for sure
Hey any tips on getting into the heel pinch easier every time I Ollie into it I’m over my toes and my foot is like parallel
Also when I do get into the heel side I always fall backwards doing Willy’s lol

Dude, you gotta angle them krooks better/get on top of them, that's why you were sliding out of them.
Waitaminute…. This park has a dedicated broom? And it stays there for longer than a day? Impossibru
