You also gotta remember archuladon teams are winning something like 80 percent of spl games, which is a pretty good indicator that it should at least be suspect tested
A ban seems like a bit much to me, but giving Stamina to a mon with this typing and stat spread was pretty stupid. Then again I’m past expecting wise decisions from Game Freak OR Smogon this gen
I mean hey atleast its something cool to use. May not be super smart for competitive but it's a fun addition in general. That's kinda how it is sometimes with them. Either they care more about the interesting aspect with a good option on a good pokemon or they go for flavor like unburden on sneasler. It's unfortunate for singles in most cases but hey it's fun to play against.
Naw, with the new additions, people have adapted more. Skarm is one of the best defensive pokemon in ou right now, partly because it iron defenses in Kingambits face. We also have stuff like defensive Volcarona and Raging Bolt which mess with Gambit, not to mention Hyper Offense teams in general got worse thanks to the sleep ban.
Archaludon is why I run assault vest on my Hydrapple. It can’t OHKO without significant special investment and chip damage, whereas Hydrapple hammers it HARD with earth power or draco meteor
It was funny people thought it was going to fall off, but now it's getting suspect tested which is insane. Glad it's thriving. Funny two Dragons were being suspect tested recently, showing the reign of Dragons is still very much alive.
2:07 Why the Dialga shade? he is trying. okay? he may be failing terribly, but at least he is trying. Also, him being better that his origin forme is good, since being better than where you started is always a positive (least coping dialga fan) (who cares about newer gens anyways, BKC said gen 4 ubers is the best)
I knew Archaludon would beat the mid allegations. Anyway, yeah it's definitely gonna take another gen of powercreep to drop this dude back down, because it's way too good on rain without something like Mega Swampert that is a perfect counter to it that doesn't exist in gen 9 sadly. Crazy to think Archaludon is not a problem in natdex meanwhile in SV OU its probably heading to ubers
From my experience, with its lack of recovery stacking spikes is a good way to deal with Archaludon, and having earth power even not stabbed is extremely useful too! But yeah if it's not banned i could really see some restriction on stamina or body press for sure (mb even both)
Normally I can see the logic behind the OU council’s choices, but this is just ridiculous. Archaludon is far from being an overwhelming threat, it’s just a good bulky rain sweeper without much use outside of that.
I think this is a case where the mon is clearly oppressive in a more competitive environment (tournaments), which as metagames are naturally more centralized than regular ladder. I personally don't think it will end up being banned tho.
For everyone who want Kingambit to be banned. Remember, it had a suspect test some months ago and it barely avoided the ban hammer with around 50 to 59 percent. I do not always agree with every decision of the OU council, but it is also the players fault for allowing it to remain in OU.
The fact its best move is an electric move in the rain is another big part of it. "Just switch into a ground type" not exactly optimal against a rain team.
@@Gawayne.CDoesn't matter if it can or can't, it being supported by a team of water types allows it to give Ground types a lot of pressure, switching is the best move in the game after all
I just find it really annoying to kill cause there's not a real check to him cause most physical attackers have a dogshit Time against it and most ground and fighting types are physical attackers
Not sure why it annoys me so much that it has a pseudo-legendary BST, but it does. The ridiculous signature move, the incredible typing, AND 600 BST? It’s just too much. They could shave off like, 20 BST and it would still be totally fine. It’s completely ridiculous as it is.
I feel like the biggest mistake about Archaludon was the stat total. 600 was not necessary and it should have been much slower to justify the boosts to most of its other stats (I’d say it should have been 550 in total with a speed stat of 45 instead of 85)
I feel like the Consol for Gen9 are only interested in banning pokemon that are good against their favorite kind of teams. "This pokemon has less then 10% usage but high win rates against our copy and paste win teams! BAN IT!"
Its all a mess because of the move pool changes all these new mons. There are are too many snowball mons and you can't prep for them all. Just turns the game into more of a game of rock paper scissors from team preview.

Good thing Archaludon is getting suspect tested instead of quickbanned, so the players will decide Archaludon’s fate, not just the council
