@@imaanlatios6790well banning tera honestly would make the game feel more stable and help prevent the majority of bans that happened. tera is the overarching problem for the vast majority of boosting threats and knowing their tera would make less guessing games but wouldn’t stop unbeatable matchups that don’t feel skillful. “*i prepared for X gouging fire but sadly he was Y so i lost”.
@@gothified if your team has such a glaring weakness to a particular set on a pokemon, such that even if you see it coming in advance you still can't beat it, isn't it just a skill/teambuilding issue at that point? All teams have vulnerabilities but you shouldn't have autolosses
I mean it’s broken fundamentally, if you don’t have a check you lose instantly, but there’s enough common OU mons to check it and there’s also other broken options worth using it over so I don’t think it is banwhorthy necessarily
What? Entei is finally good this gen and now they want it banned? Long neck has higher usage. It's always funny that the higher usage mons stay in the tier while the ones with lower usage get banned. Dang what's next? Lando gets banned after a lot of people saying it was washed up?
Just because a mon has higher usage doesnt mean its as oppressive and broken as another. Look at archaludon kingambit has higher usage but archaludon is obviously more broken in the meta game. If gouging fire is banned it will be done by people who have experience in the meta game. If you want gouging fire to stay so bad do your suspect test games and vote for him too stay but if you dont and it gets banned dont complain because it was literally a community vote
Crazy how you just go to the extreme and don't think about what I said. From the usage stats, it looked like Fire was falling off for a while. Yet theirs barely any reason that makes it broken. How about give me reasons before trying to jump down my throat a holes.
But there's good centralization and BAD centralization. Kingambit is a great example of GOOD centralization; it's a consistent threat to almost any team and is always a factor in a team that has it. It's a useful endgame sweeper that relies on prediction and prior knowledge of your team's moveset. Any surprise KOs to your ace are completely on the user for not scouting them out. BAD centralization is Koraidon/Muraidon in Ubers. Any serious team NEEDS it, and it's always present. If you lose either, and the opponent has one, you may as well forfeit because the other is gonna rip ass through your team
tbh I would've rather Arch stay in OU but I understand why it got banned and I won't oppose it. It is also why I won't oppose to the Gouging Fire Ban if it happens, since dude has proven to be a similar pain in sun. What I don't understand though, is that people voted for Kyurem to remain in OU despite this guy clearly keeping rain in check. I just hope that, if it happens, the ban of Gouging Fire reignites the flame for tiering action to be taken against Kyurem.
Tera should probably get banned. If we look at Shedinja, it's the peak example of tera brokenness. You have to prepare for so many Shedinja variants, and without Tera it would just be normal Shedinja.
What we need is a tera preview, not banning the mechanic. The unexpected thing will be what Pokémon uses it, but at least you'll know what Tera Type they have up their sleeves.
So weird how every time they ban something there is a new most broken pokemon that pops up, who woulda thought
Gen 9 was a disaster in litteraly everything.....
Even outside of the putrid games themselves.😢😢
Powercreep plus the mistake of not banning tera
Tera is fine. Why not just test a format with open team sheets like VGC, or reveal tera, before jumping to ban an entire mechanic

With its bulk, reliable healing, and dd, those offensive stats look great to an outsider like me
Kingambit & Gholdengo paying off the Smogon council at this point
Gholdengo is no longer a ban worthy threat at this point but ahem… Kinggambit

Believe it or not
Being broken doesn't mean you fit on every team
Crazy isn't it
More usage doesn't mean it's broken

You gotta ask this question, does gouging fire make the tier unplayable, like does it make it so that it is advised not to play the tier
Does it also make so the tier is better off without it
If you have to go out of your way to dedicate a specific counter to a single pokemon, its generally a sign of overcentralization.

Stg fire types are losing this gen. Chi-Yu deserved it but it’s funny/sad how every other fire-type gets banned or falls off
This kinda feels like OU Dusk Mane

i agree most mons that got banned are because of it i think suspecting it first before banning
Shedinja isn't in scarlet and violet, and is banned to anything goes in national dex.

Hope you fighting reqs. Keep it in the tier
Just ban everything that is slightly broken at this point
at January 2025 gen 9 ubers is composed by every pokémon in the game
Yeah I think this Pokemon is kinda broken
