  • apologeticsguy.com In this episode of the Apologetics Guy Show, Dr. Mikel Del Rosario of the Moody Bible Institute talks with Holly Pivec and Dr. Doug Gievett about what EVERY Christian should know about the New Apostolic Reformation and related practices which can distract Christians from pursuing God and raise suspicions about the reasonability of the Christian faith in the public square. Many Christians wonder: Is God sending new prophets with new revelations? Did Jesus do miracles for us to copy him? Does the Bible teach Christians to "Decree and Declare" things in prayer? Learn about the DANGEROUS new movement that many Christians don’t realize they've joined-a counterfeit kingdom with false prophets and wannabe miracle workers.

    🤔 Question of the day: Have you ever heard someone "decree and declare" something during prayer? Let me know in the comments. ⬇ ⬇ ⬇

      I actually seen south African pastors and ministers use this decree and declare in there prayers during my visit twice their I notice. Ah then its hit home hard. I started noticed in states as well, someone sent me a link of prophet which I don't want to mention his name. He is from states, black preacher calling himself prophet, and running prophet school, I follow his videos and my heart was so scared and concerns, as he seems taking all God praise, because he only focused on, I,me,my and until someone come to him and ask for prayer etc ah I follow less and less people now, we must read Bible and follow it fullest. It's absolutely great sharing. Awareness is very important.

      Prophecies about president Trump, reminds me as their was prophecy about Paul death but his Disciples couldn't understand that.
      Acts 21:10-11
      At the end of Paul's third missionary journey, he is greeted by a prophet named Agabus, who traveled from Jerusalem to Caesarea to inform Paul of a prophecy:
      10 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’” (Acts 21:10-11, NIV)
      Upon hearing this, Paul's friends implore him not to return to Jerusalem. But, Paul replied that he was willing and ready to be arrested and to die for the Lord. He returns to Jerusalem and is later arrested, put on trial and then sent to Rome as a prisoner.

      Exactly we can pray for healing but we can't demand healing, ah been this to many times, when people said you need to do more prayer and have more faith,to ger your healing. God's know my heart, I'm survive from two different cancers, yet I still need healing in my body which is a temporary tent in this earth. My main focus is my place above. If it's in God's will I will have what He have for me. I can't force God but I do have people who want me to force God.

      Yes I've heard these kind of "prayers." They were never called "declare and decree," however the concept is a 1 to 1 match.
      Ever since I was little something seemed off about that sort of prayer. Growing older I realized that every miracle is God's decision to make. If he is the master of the house the survent doesn't rule their master, just as a child doesn't control the parent.
      About a year ago I realized in my prayer life I was doing something similar (though not entirely the same).
      I'd Say, "Lord send your spirit to be with said person." But it occurred to me one day that through that prayer I neglected to treat the Holy Spirit as God. I now pray
      differently.
      "Lord if it be your will please be with said person to comfort them."

    Just to say yt brought me here because I have been looking into this topic on other channels. I have to give up one church due to NAR & not seeing that its teachings are wrong, plus another gathering affected by NAR & some people are doing this type of decree & declaring which I am not happy with as it bypasses what God's will is.
    Another very important thing to realise is that you can't teach people to have these gifts. It is the Holy Spirit, God giving these gifts to people & they can't be taught.

    Decreeing and declaring? The first time I heard someone use those words in a prayer... I was looking for lightning to strike (so to speak). There is such pride in the voices of those who declare and decree, often their tone of voice changes. There is a possible danger in calling someone a prayer warrior, because it automatically puts every other believers prayer on a lower level, because there's no special formula or buzz words. The prayers of the righteous availeth MUCH. None of man"s new formulas are needed. Rghteous people are those who walk in the humility of Christ. much. I believe in speaking what God has said about me, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God hearing myself speak for God has spoken in the word about his children is POWERFUL. But to speak things can I want to happen, is completely erroneous. I believe the most powerful prayer comes from the lips of a child, who simply brings that childlike faith and lays their request before the Father. I remember praying those prayers as a little girl... and God moved mountains for me. The Lord's prayer taught me everything I needed to know about prayer, and David too, gives us instruction on prayer. Respectfully.

      You're absolutely right and as far as Scripture goes, what you've said reminds me of Matthew 7:15, where we're warned by Jesus Himself to beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they're ravening wolves.
      Also, when you mentioned that this sort of junk is all over the world, I was reminded of the Truth that as the return of our Lord Himself and the end of history draws nearer, we'll be seeing more and more of this trend. In fact, in 2 Timothy 3:13, we're warned by the apostle Paul that evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

    I was expecting somebody will quote the didactic or direct teaching of the Bible about healings and miracles which Apostle leaqrly taught to rebuke the Corinthians, of which the present New Apostolic is like.
    1 Cor. 12:30
    Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
    Here Apostle Paul by posing this question in his diatribe clearly teaching that NOT ALL have these gifts of the Spirit. So I believe there is no debate as to the biblical basis of rejecting the claims and teachings of that movement.

    • @apologeticsguy
      @apologeticsguy  9 місяців тому

      Yes, not all can heal or speak in tongues. Any movement that makes these the litmus test of salvation sets people up for disappointment with their own spiritual life. This may lead to a rejection of God or giving in to the temptation to falsify gifts of the Spirit. Avoid the false beliefs of NAR!

  • @mannbradmusic

    Thank you for posting this very needful presentation and as I was listening to what you had to say, one particular passage that came to me was Isaiah 46:9-10, where our Lord Himself makes it clear that He is who He is and there is none like Him, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, His counsel will stand and He will do all that He pleases.
    Also, when I think of the way so many are currently falling for such terrible theology, there are a couple of passages that often come to me:
    1. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, we're warned by the apostle Paul that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts they will raise up for themselves teachers, having itching ears and they will turn their ears away from the Truth and will turn to fables.
    2. In the first two verses of 2 Peter 2, the apostle Peter declares that false prophets rose up among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them and bringing swift destruction on themselves and many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the Way of Truth will be blasphemed.

    Unfortunately, yes. Often the declarations are for new jobs, promotions, wealth, health "....when I do this, this will happen". Declaring and decreeing is thought of as the special key to powerful prayers. Declaring and decreeing is not prayer at all. It is not speaking in humility to the Father (just the opposite!), it is not petitioning Him, giving Him reverential worship, or thanks. Jesus taught us how to pray. In His prayers to the Father He declared and decreed... not one thing.
    The elements in the Lord's Prayer in no way forbids us to pour out our Heart Cries, born out of our pain or disappointment, or fear. We come to Him in total humility, reverence, to lay at His Feet our total dependency upon Him, our faith is rewarded, not our words. If man were given the authority to declare and decree things in the natural or the spiritual, we would never come to the place of total dependency. If our words become a supernatural, creative force through declaring and decreeing, manifesting what we have decreed and declared...?
    HE ALONE IS THE LORD, that is His Name, He will not give His Glory to another, or His Praise to idols...
    The power to declare and decree is His alone.

    • @apologeticsguy
      @apologeticsguy  7 місяців тому +1

      Indeed. Prayer declarations are nowhere in Scripture. Rather than confessing an utter depended on God, they can be seen as a way to manipulate God and compel him to act. This sets Christians up for disappointment with God or a crisis of faith when their declarations do not come true. Thanks for watching and sharing your reaction here.
