Webinar: Do Black Lives Matter in Russia? Historical Perspectives & Contemporary Realities (panel 2)

Understanding the current media and public response in Russia to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement requires a historical perspective on constructions of race, blackness, and Otherness in Russia. In this two-part panel, we hope to facilitate conversations about the history of racial discourse and policy in Russia (including constructions of blackness), and the experiences of people of color in the Soviet Union and contemporary Russia, that will appeal to a wide range of scholars and students.

Действительно важную для России "проблему" обсуждают какие-то леволиберальные дармоеды. Русофобский Яндекс ни в чем не пытался разобраться. Видите ли обидели находящегося как отмечал сам водитель в укуренном состоянии несчастного негра, который сам пытался ссылаться природу своей исключительной расы, и тут же уволили без разбирательств русского таксиста. К тому же в российском законодательстве есть такое понятие как свобода договора, т.е. для его заключения требуется наличие воли двух сторон. Соответственно водитель был вправе отказать.

Russians usually use "negro". We are aware of the proper n-word and it's historical meaning we contributed nothing to. Negro simply refers to a skin colour, specifically black, no slavery references whatsoever!
