This is just flat out gorgeous and I’ve only heard it 16 million times.
Same. 😂
"Yes Lord. I hear you bro, that's real. Ion know what you saying it for, lol, but a black ninja feel you. Lol, all love. "
"Oh yes, this one of them ones. Timeless, sweet, beautiful. Al Green the god of Soul. Yes Lord. I'm 29 and a 90s baby, I got a old soul, people say I act just like a old man. But I grew up around real soulful cats and this type of music, so. The God reallyade me like this first, then that really, KMSL. Yes Lord. "

Heaven = Cruising in a 75' Cadillac, listening to AL Green on a long country road, during a summer afternoon eating an ice cream cone at slow speed while heading to a family cookout at grandma's house which is down a dusty path with tall cedar trees giving you a windy salute as they gently rock back and forth until sunset. I miss you grandma. See you soon.
Yeah, you was jamming then.

OMG! The drummer nailed this beat.
The drummer is Al Jackson, Jr, composer of the melody
the great Al Jackson...the man from Stax! Kept the beat solid on sooo much great artists from Booker T andn MGs to Otis Redding, and Isaac Hayes.

Without a doubt one of the greatest voices of all time!
Without even one shadow a resemblance of a doubt!
Your so right his music will never get old
Indeed
Every note comes through with raw emotion, and feelings you can only have if you were a teen in the 70's as I was. We were a different breed of Love and Peace
I can only imagine ❤️🔥
For real best years of my life 🙌🏼

Friday 2/28/2020 I just put away first & only True Love. He passed on his B-day Mon. Feb. 10, 2020. We married July 23rd, 1975, right after my 18th b-day. My b-day is July 18. We had good times & hard times. But, he left this Earth knowing I loved him from the beginning & I loved him to the end. I keep crying cause I think of the good & the bad times. I was hoping & praying to have my husband, my sons father for another 3 years. He promised he would be here. He was greatly ill. I MISS HIM SO, though I know for certain I will see my first love, my only love again when I get to heaven. Love ur loves one as much as possible. Never tire of showing them & telling them how much they mean to u. God bless everyone that reads this. Babe, I AM STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU!!
Damn... I'm tearing up... Thinking about my mother.... MLK day is her Anniversary
So sorry for your loss, sis. Sending you lots of love and strength. Peace be the journey to your dear departed husband. Namaste.
He and Christ are surely watching over you this very moment. Be strong until you meet them both, sister.
so sorry for your loss, honey. i'm sure he knew how much you loved him when he was alive, and that's what you have to keep holding on to. hope you're better now. ♥

June 2024
Y'all only here because of the sample. Stop playing.
I don't care how played out this song might be. I'll play it a million more times ❤
Saw Al in concert 15 years ago . His voice was like silk wrapped in velvet . One of the last of his era . A true soul singer .
I just love this man so much ❤️
Al Greens voice could melt the coldest of hearts. ❤

He got too many good songs to call this one the greatest.
One of the coolest songs of his time
This song is without question on of the most beautiful things I ever heard. My grandmother loved Al Green and played his album constantly. We used to dance to it every time I went to see her. It is part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank you Mr. Green.
My all time favorite Al Green song! His incredible singing, beautifully played music, heart wrenching lyrics. Perfection.
Can you believe that it's been fifty years ago when this song came out.
@@portiamatthews9654 Yep, I was still a kid. My Mom incessantly played 45's (who remember those) of all the major crooners of the day, but especially Al Green and Donny Hathaway
@@deskwerks LoL yes I remember those 45 and remember the disc for the record. Those were the best days.
How anyone can have that much control over their voice is incredible
For real!!! Only GOD gifted talent 🙏🏿🤗🥰❤️
But, but the music! I never hear anyone about the musicians or production. The glassclear horns, the violins, the singers, the drums, the bass. The organ! This band is incredible.
@@hardyvonwinterstein5445 you're absolutely right!!! The band and the background singers are incredible...stringed horn, drums and all!!!!
My husband sent me this song in a email message for a Valentine in 2021. Married 38 years. Love him more than ever. Love the comment about melting ice, because it is 10 degrees and snowing.
Hello 👋
Ohhh he must be one smooth Guy!....😎
Al Greens contribution to Seventies soul was immeasurable.
I played his tracks in the clubs and discos in the 70s & 80s in Europe and the U.K. and the effect was always palpable.
Great production and arrangement, fantastic songs and lyrics, a team of the very best musicians
topped by the pure joy of the man himself, who's capacity to understand and deliver was simply the best.
Alongside his contemporaries including Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Al Green not only elevated the soul genre but created a legacy of songs that truly stand the test of time.
As well said as the song itself.
Gracias amigo! The generation before mine needed you to do that so they could have something beautiful in their lives while molding ours. AL GREEN was a staple of our home then and is still in regular rotation over here(:
@@iStudyASL your message most appreciated- join my channel for my fabulous playlists - also on Spotify😎👌

This song is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Even as a boy as my late parents played Al Green's Greatest Hits on 8-track repeatedly - the Soul in his Singing!!
These songs just melt me…….❤️
🥰
Hello 👋
My dad over played this "LP". I hated all his music back in the day, as a five year old kid...Fast forward, it's 2023 and I can't get enough of those "70's" music. Those songs especially AL Green songs had made an indelible mark on me. I LOVE the 70's, I wish we could go back in time, and stay there....( Now as a parent, my kids hate my 70"2 music) Thanks daddy, I LOVE you.❤(RIP)😢😢
Whoever disliked this video u dont know what soul music is
There is something very special about this song. I heard it for the first time inside a Walmart Store in El Paso, TX of all places and it immediately touched my soul. The 70's was for music, and the 80's was for love.
They'll come aroound.
Probably a Silk The Shocker fan 🤷♂️
These songs never get old!
I wish I didn't
Al was sharp as hell in this picture
Whiter than them grits 😭😁🤣

That’s awesome. You definitely have been here in another body before. There’s actually a whole show based on kids with true stories just like yours. I forget the name though 🙃
Soul immeasurable , crosses all colors. I'm Native American, wow love his music.
Woke up this morning out of the blue humming this song, then turned it on, beautiful!!
A friend of mine grew up in Memphis at the time that Al Green was doing local gigs. What a gift. AG is the best music to listen to when everything is weighing on your shoulders, but at the moment you are completely carefree to listen to whatever you want. And then there is his voice . . . . .
Timeless……Al Green.❤️
The sound of his voice and those words...makes me melt
Ive heard them all but this one is absolutely beautiful another place I wanna be ....
Another classic. That guitar player was smooth, wasn't he?😁😁😁😁 Miss ya, pops.

My favorite Al Green song!
Absolutely timeless. The first time I heard it was on a radio station in Tokyo. I'll never forget that moment!
He was my favorite singer back in the day and still love his music....
Being the middle child in a family of originally 6 siblings, I remember being as young as 5 and 6 years old that my dad introduced me to all of these old motown/soul records from the 60_a.- 80's, and I fell in love with all of the songs! From Ray Charles, to Stevie, to Marvin Gaye, The temptations, 4 Tops, Manhattan's, Comadores, Spinners, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackson 5, So Green, James Brown, etc., we're all introduced to my siblings, but these records stuck with me all throughout my life up until this very point. I'm 27 now..and now my daughter and I listen to these golden recordings, loving each one. Just as I did, and still do!
Daaaaaaam. Speechless and awed by the soul and talent of Al Green.
Masterpiece
One of my favorite songs.
Good Morning
Mr. AL Green
You know me so well you know say exactly what I wana hear ❤️
My mother was born in 1920 and loved Al green. Taste has no age or time. God blessed Al with wonderful talent. I am grateful he shared.
The whole world is in love with your voice ,in clouding me.
Great Song! Jesus Loves You My Dear Friends! God Bless You Always! John 3:16
If they ever create an AL GREEN biopic….Usher NEEDS to play him. My god the resemblance is crazy 😂❤ I’m happy and sad that I wasn’t born during the his time …I would of been obsessed with all these handsome power house voice men like AL, Teddy , Jeffery, Barry, and MANY MORE! Their voices would wrap you up like velvet ❤❤❤
If you have a family reunion or BBQ and the Dj don't drop this his ass ain't a DJ! growing up in the 70s I love to see my parent's dance to this. It was all about love.
Rev. Al was so smooth - That Cat had a tremendous voice that was mesmerizing whatever he sang
Brings me back to my 20s ,many loves in my life then
This & Let's Stay Together are my two favorite Al Green songs.
All of Al Green's songs were number 1 songs to me!! My all time favorite was Belle....
Al Green....this will always be a classic hit to be played any time ❤
The late Al Jackson Jr. on drums lay'n it down baby
I always listen to the simple fill when he hits the tom. It’s simple but so right
Nobody does bedroom music like Al
