"Oh yes, this one of them ones. Timeless, sweet, beautiful. Al Green the god of Soul. Yes Lord. I'm 29 and a 90s baby, I got a old soul, people say I act just like a old man. But I grew up around real soulful cats and this type of music, so. The God reallyade me like this first, then that really, KMSL. Yes Lord. "

Heaven = Cruising in a 75' Cadillac, listening to AL Green on a long country road, during a summer afternoon eating an ice cream cone at slow speed while heading to a family cookout at grandma's house which is down a dusty path with tall cedar trees giving you a windy salute as they gently rock back and forth until sunset. I miss you grandma. See you soon.

Friday 2/28/2020 I just put away first & only True Love. He passed on his B-day Mon. Feb. 10, 2020. We married July 23rd, 1975, right after my 18th b-day. My b-day is July 18. We had good times & hard times. But, he left this Earth knowing I loved him from the beginning & I loved him to the end. I keep crying cause I think of the good & the bad times. I was hoping & praying to have my husband, my sons father for another 3 years. He promised he would be here. He was greatly ill. I MISS HIM SO, though I know for certain I will see my first love, my only love again when I get to heaven. Love ur loves one as much as possible. Never tire of showing them & telling them how much they mean to u. God bless everyone that reads this. Babe, I AM STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU!!

Al Greens contribution to Seventies soul was immeasurable.
I played his tracks in the clubs and discos in the 70s & 80s in Europe and the U.K. and the effect was always palpable.
Great production and arrangement, fantastic songs and lyrics, a team of the very best musicians
topped by the pure joy of the man himself, who's capacity to understand and deliver was simply the best.
Alongside his contemporaries including Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Al Green not only elevated the soul genre but created a legacy of songs that truly stand the test of time.

From Ray Charles, to Stevie, to Marvin Gaye, The temptations, 4 Tops, Manhattan's, Comadores, Spinners, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackson 5, So Green, James Brown, etc., we're all introduced to my siblings, but these records stuck with me all throughout my life up until this very point. If you have a family reunion or BBQ and the Dj don't drop this his ass ain't a DJ! growing up in the 70s I love to see my parent's dance to this. It was all about love.
