Nah. Luigi's fucking purple coins is the only level I have never been able to beat, no matter how hard I try. I didn't struggle much with the green star ones at all. Edit: Autocorrect. -_-

There’s another Mario game you didn’t mention. Super Mario run on mobile devices, I’d say the hardest lever is world star 8 on the black coin setting. it’s hard because you’ve got to make a lot of precise jumps, and there are few mushrooms throughout the level. Also the final coin is quite difficult to collect because of the precise jumps near the end. Another thing I think you could have mentioned is the toad house in world crown on 3D world. To complete it you need to go through 100 consecutive 10 second levels, and if you mess up once you need to start over completely. I never actually completed that level which haunts me to this day haha
As someone who grew up with new super Mario Bros, I just genuinely didn’t find 8-tower2 that difficult. I found 8-1 to be my personal hardest (or maybe the last level due to it’s length) because of all the things you have to dodge.

I would've picked 7-1 for the original Super Mario Bros. You got Bullet Bills all over the place, hordes of Hammer Bros., tricky jumps, not to mention power-ups are few and far between. In NSMBWii, I'd say 8-5, the one where you're stuck on a moving platform with motion controls, Bob-ombs raining down on you for much of the level, and then later those bird enemies that home in on you.
I remember my senior year of high school, my calc teacher came in super excited that she had gotten through Champion’s Road. I had never related to a thirty-something mother of two more.

I'm surprised people always say the hardest star in SMG1 is the daredevil lava spire run. I always beat it first time, but the dreadnought galaxy garbage bombing star, and cosmic luigi underwater race, always drain a good amount of lives.
Tubular with the balloon strat is the harder part, but get a cape and blue yoshi and with some floating jumps and grabbing one of the koopas, it's a bit easier, just gotta know the path. Outrageous was easily the hardest if you did it all on the ground. Getting over that REALLY tall orange pipe was key. Once over that, you're virtually good.

"Nintendo has mastered the art of level creation, coming up with some of the most ingenious ideas that has kept every game feeling extremely fresh". New Super Mario Bros. series: Hehe... yeah... so fresh, right?
Suddenly have the urge to 100% a 3d mario game, which Ive always wanted to do as a kid (I did 100% mario world, my favorite 2d mario)... And conveniently, my friend is returning mario galaxy 1 and 2, which I let him borrow, tomorrow. So im wondering if I should 100% smg1, smg2, or sm3dw, my top favorite 3d mario games.
there was an odyssey glitch that let you skip the darker side mission simply by swimming through space as a frog right to the new donk building model. i have also gotten good enough at darker side that i rarely if ever die in it any more, and there are multiple intended skips in the level to make life easier. as one example, that moving block maze you mentioned can be entirely skipped with some slightly creative cap throws to ride the scarecrow elevator to the top. honestly, there are moons i would call significantly harder than darker side, such as breakdown road cap-less and scooter-less cap-less vanishing road, both found as challenges in dark side. also, depending on who you ask, they will either say volleyball master or jump rope master.
Nintendo should really make two versions of every Mario game. One for extreme players and one for people that just want to have fun. I was enjoy sm64 now I hate it. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
The hardest Sonic the Hedgehog Zones is my cup of tea. In Sonic 1 Mega Drive Game, the hardest part of the whole game is near the end of Labyrinth Zone Act 3. When you climb up to meet Robotnik, the last bit is always the most frustrating. The water is rising, there are no air bubbles left and you have to jump up to the top without getting skewered by spears and fried by block spitters. I always wind up losing at least four to five lives, before I eventually succeed. Believe me, if the last part of Labyrinth Zone Act 3 wasn't so difficult to get through, we'd all be happier. This is something all Sonic Fans need to be aware of.
Where's Scrubbing Sirena Beach from Super Mario Sunshine? That'll always remain as the hardest Mario level of all time for me, props to anyone who can do this without the internet's help.
In the New Super Mario Bros series, there were some difficult levels that I made "my home". After so many deaths I completely mastered them, being able to move around freely without the need of any power-ups. That was cool, but it took so many attempts because of how clumsy and hot headed I can be sometimes
TBF v games used to be only for kids back then in 1985 and later Or so. And that made Mario Bros DIFFICULT. Or lets say they were designed for them which made it look difficult.
I beat the lava spot your dear devil run in like two tries, And during that same play through I had a really hard time with bouldergeist daredevil run and the garage dumps which suck.
I mean, Tubular is one of the hardest, but In not sure if it is _the_ hardest. Once you’ve memorized the locations of the P-Balloons, then it’s only difficult, as opposed to Outrageous I think it is that honestly may be harder. Tubular is definitely the most cited as being the hardest, and I think that it’s because you can’t cheese the level like you can many of the other levels.
Mario 3 World 8 fortress is MUCH harder than World 8 airship imo and Outrageous in Super Mario World is also way harder than Tubular and personally, I think the hardest stage in New U was the penultimate level "Red-Hot Elevator Ride" and I also think the hardest stage in Lost Levels is either D-3 or D-4
World 8's Fortress isn't real bad once you figure out how it works. Also if you go in with Raccoon or Tanuki Mario, you'll only have to go through two doors.
As a kid ironically I always struggled with the first tank in world 8 and always used a p wing for that. The fast scrolling airship surprisingly never really gave me issues. The first tank was the hard one for me
Also a hint for anyone having trouble with Luigi's Purple Coins. First understand that there are way more coins than you need. Once you realize that then come up with a path that is "easier" to accomplish. You can skip 50 coins! Once you realize this coming up with the path is the hard part while getting good at it, but at least you are trying to go after every coin and this means avoid the coins that require you jumping over the dark matter. It's still hard, but this eases it up a little.

I agree with you on the ones I've played. Mario Maker 2 has a decently long story mode with some pretty challenging stuff.
I love u
8:44 Think again. *All* the coins in that stage are gold.
I don’t consider The Impossible Pack and Don’t Touch Anything to be levels.
This is an awesome video, but you left out one of my favorite MARIO titles... Super Mario RPG the Seven Stars
"Nintendo has mastered the art of level creation, coming up with some of the most ingenious ideas that has kept every game feeling extremely fresh".
New Super Mario Bros. series: Hehe... yeah... so fresh, right?
I like the NSMB series. It only consitsts of 5 games so duh!
You should 100% smg2 cuz in smg1 and in sm3dw you need to rebeat alot of stuff, which is annoying
I’m early but don’t know what to comment
there was an odyssey glitch that let you skip the darker side mission simply by swimming through space as a frog right to the new donk building model. i have also gotten good enough at darker side that i rarely if ever die in it any more, and there are multiple intended skips in the level to make life easier. as one example, that moving block maze you mentioned can be entirely skipped with some slightly creative cap throws to ride the scarecrow elevator to the top.
honestly, there are moons i would call significantly harder than darker side, such as breakdown road cap-less and scooter-less cap-less vanishing road, both found as challenges in dark side. also, depending on who you ask, they will either say volleyball master or jump rope master.
Drinking game: drink/take a shot every time he says "on top of this/all that"
What?!?!? I didn't know u could do that with the gliding guy! Well looks like I am going to beat it tomorrow then lol.
Nintendo should really make two versions of every Mario game. One for extreme players and one for people that just want to have fun. I was enjoy sm64 now I hate it. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Haha that’s sorta what they did with new super Mario bro’s u as they made a much harder version in new super Luigi bro’s u
And number one over number 1 is Mario Maker with n sane community levels
yeah yeah all levels are not from nintendo but who cares stills challenging
Where's Scrubbing Sirena Beach from Super Mario Sunshine? That'll always remain as the hardest Mario level of all time for me, props to anyone who can do this without the internet's help.
Please stop saying "incredibly", "insanely", and "extremely". Good video otherwise.
In the New Super Mario Bros series, there were some difficult levels that I made "my home". After so many deaths I completely mastered them, being able to move around freely without the need of any power-ups. That was cool, but it took so many attempts because of how clumsy and hot headed I can be sometimes
Videos on this topic have already been made hundred of times, but youtubers keep making them
Outrageous definitely for SMW
TBF v games used to be only for kids back then in 1985 and later Or so. And that made Mario Bros DIFFICULT. Or lets say they were designed for them which made it look difficult.
I beat the lava spot your dear devil run in like two tries, And during that same play through I had a really hard time with bouldergeist daredevil run and the garage dumps which suck.
Pretty good video, subscribed
I mean, Tubular is one of the hardest, but In not sure if it is _the_ hardest. Once you’ve memorized the locations of the P-Balloons, then it’s only difficult, as opposed to Outrageous I think it is that honestly may be harder. Tubular is definitely the most cited as being the hardest, and I think that it’s because you can’t cheese the level like you can many of the other levels.
Mario 3 World 8 fortress is MUCH harder than World 8 airship imo
and Outrageous in Super Mario World is also way harder than Tubular
and personally, I think the hardest stage in New U was the penultimate level "Red-Hot Elevator Ride"
and I also think the hardest stage in Lost Levels is either D-3 or D-4
World 8's Fortress isn't real bad once you figure out how it works. Also if you go in with Raccoon or Tanuki Mario, you'll only have to go through two doors.
As a kid ironically I always struggled with the first tank in world 8 and always used a p wing for that. The fast scrolling airship surprisingly never really gave me issues. The first tank was the hard one for me
Love the video, great job!
