I think that a Tier 3 Russian-made LMG, the RPK-16 would be a good option... It's only difference from AK-12 is having a bigger mag (a 100 drum one). But putting it in Tier 3 would outclass the AK-12. Swapping the Stoner 63 to the Tier 3 and making RPK-16 a Tier 4 sounds good on paper.
@@ridhosamudro2199 well,That sounds impractical at least for me.Since LMGs has large ammunition boxes and many bullets to shoot things they also fire rifle rounds(such as 5.56 5.45 7.62) so They can deal good damage with large ammo pool although it may take longer to reload but that still make them a decent class that could out class SWAT or Commando
To be fair to the L85 its a perfectly acceptable purchase after wave 1 if you expend all of your AR15 ammo. I say this because if you were to buy ammo for your AR15 then economically its not really that different to buying the L85 and selling it since the loss is just over 100dosh but you are also getting ammo at the same time which compensates for this. But thats it competitively speaking its not really worth the upgrades, which is fine imo. Its just a nice step up from the AR15 thats available early without using all your dosh. if the L85 were to be buffed i would have its weight reduced to 5kg that could open some more interesting offperk builds as well as letting you carry it with the T5 stoner since if you take the stoner ATM you are stuck with the AR15... The M16 is ok with upgrades as well if you take the stumble rounds since you can stumble fleshpounds with headshots and you can kill them with a mag and 2 duds - which is easier than it sounds since you get a massive stumble window but its costs a lot more than the FAL and it isnt as practical (you can use the FAL in zed time to pop FP's but because you gotta reload the M203 its not really viable). Plus you need to spend 3300~ dosh to be able to do what the FAL can do at T4. My favourite loadout is the Med ar + FAL. Simply put the med ar has a ton of ammo and can be used to kill pretty much everything, its large mag makes it great for trash - while it has fairly low damage its high enough for most important thresholds and its RoF makes it good enough for consistent zed time. The FAL is then one of the best large zed killing weapons and flat out replaces the T5 AK12 - arguably the best because of its ease to use - but more importantly its the cheapest which means i can then dosh the crap out of my team as the entire build is 3k as there are no T5 upgrades and as a result its very easy to get this build and you can dosh you team afterwards. PS it was nice seeing you use machine gunner to extend in this one ^_^ PPS that invisible husk shot at 4:10
If I run out of AR15 ammo in Wave 1 (unlikely since I just use Fallback with the pistol on Wave 1), I just sell it and rebuy it. Get another 150 rounds with it for just 100 dosh, and you recoup 50 of that dosh when you sell it again later.
I'd be really cool if you could show the trees when showing perk skills, I always forget by just their name, much easier to remember by their side/effect.
I’m all for the Holy Trinity of Commando, Slinger, and Sharpshooter but I prefer the extreme overkill option: The Monster Trio of Zerk, Demo, and Sharp. If you want your big zeds to exit the current dimension your in, The Monster Trio is your best bet 💪

Yah. He is honestly the best combination of agility, tankiness, support, and firepower. I am often getting most kills due to the grenades and often survive the longest due to high run speed and syringe recharge.
The commando with the mtech401(no upgrades) and m16(T5 upgrade) is my favorite loadout, good at trash clearing, can handle a group of fp very quickly if you lead with a few HE grenades, and a backup healer. The grenade launcher attachment on the m16 can also work with tactician so you can still rapid fire it.
With 700+ hours in KF2, much of that on Commando, I do have one opinion to share. The AR15 Varmint is not a gun worthy of any praise. Aside from its lack of full auto, the burst fire mode is so clumsy that the weapon is only practical to use in semi-auto mode, which grants better accuracy but lowers dps, hampering the utility of the weapon past wave 1. The Bullpup may not have better per-round damage, but its accuracy, clip size, reserve ammo pool, better rate of fire, and handy holosight make it a worthwhile buy even if it does slow the path to the AK12 somewhat. I use the following skill build exclusively: High Capacity Mags Impact Rounds Prepared Hollow Point Rounds Machine Gunner
I find there's a pretty effective Stoner build if you also take Impact Rounds for the extra stumble power and take M16 as secondary. Its almost non-existent recoil mitigates the absence of Hollow Point's recoil reduction, while the high fire rate and the 60 round mag contribute even more to stumble power, remaining effective and precise at trash headshots. The M16's underbarrel launcher is crucial to this build as it's a great way to momentarily dispose of a group of trash or oneshot certain mediums. It requires a completely different playstyle than your average commando and implies the big zed killers are doing their job properly, but it's a LOT of fun. And as always thank you for the great videos!
I use the Scar+grenade healing rifle. Upgrade the Scar to tear 5 and you become highly versatile being able to kill little and big zeds easily while you heal yourself and your team (in that order). You can switch the scar with the ak-12 but it gets very tiring to do a round 60+ in endless mode and if your finger cramps with a fleshpound running at you, you die a sad death.
Another great opportunity with running the hmtec rifle with commando is not just being able to heal team and yourself amazingly, but it levels up medic quite fast. (From a 0 to a 19 medic just while using the gun on commando.)
M16 Scar H , the grenades are just too damn good and the scar fits perfectly with full upgrades on both lending you to plenty of killing power with trash
SWAT is more fun to play IMO, but there’s no denying Mando’s utilities helps tremedously for any team. Have to admit i prefer Tactical Reload over High capacity mags though. The extra bullets are useful, but i just can’t stand most of the stock reload times on Mando’s weapons. FAL and SCAR are the only exceptions.
Yeah, sorry, forgot about that. It's probably because it just feels like a Commando/SWAT weapon. However, that doesn't automatically mean it can't get a crossperk, since as of now we've seen only 1 survivalist perk weapon :D PS: Aaaand the beta got postponed. Goddamit, i thought I'll be able to play today for at least 0.5 hour

When I got the day one when it was released in EA, Commando was THE class I was playing. I didn't like Berserker and I didn't give a try to medic nor to support at that time so it was my go to class. And boy do I like the AR, the AK and the SCAR. Plus now we have the MG it's really a fun class to play. I was on a 6 players team for the Halloween challenge of 25 rounds and I was playing this class with the MG. Now I do really like the FAL but I feel like it's either too heavy or it doesn't have enough ammo
Honestly, I was surprised you took those controlled difficulty guys seriously after how they were to you, especially on that one commando video. I don't think you should ever feel the need to set your shit to private, no matter how wrong it might be...
It was a tough call, but there were things that I thought were wrong with some simple testing. I agree with you totally, they were extremely disrespectful at first contact. While that may be because UA-camrs, as a general rule, tend to be a bit resistant to criticism, they made little effort in being polite (with some exceptions). However, I will admit their tune did a 180 after showing genuine interest. It is true you will always catch more flies with honey, the truth is the truth regardless of its presentation.
My favorite Commando loadout is the HM501 Medic Grenade Rifle and the M16/M203+1. The Medic Grenades provide quick self healing and great close range defense if you get cornered, boxed in, or swarmed from all sides by trash, and the M16 grenades provide crowd control and enough burst to engage Scrakes or even lone Fleshpounds if necessary. Very versatile loadout that holds up in almost every possible situation. Alternatively, SCAR +1 instead of M16 is a fine option too. HM501 for trash, SCAR for medium zeds and the occasional big zed. Almost matches the damage of FNFal but with much more ammo capacity and efficiency (far less wasteful to use on trash).
If you're playing solo, I've found that the Ak-12 paired with the Stoner is an effective combo. Ak for restoring Zed Time and trash, and the Stoner for FP and Scrakes
I just love M16 M203. It's fun to play, can support dealing with stunned big zeds really well, and you can restart zedtime with its granade if your clip's empty. Some may scream at me, but I love just upgrading M16 to tier 5 and use it with Prepared perk and not using any other weapon for as long as i can (i buy a backup gun if needed).
Love to play as the Commando due to sheer extensions it can bring. :D Only thing I hate is that I am awful against fleshpounds. Scrakes are manageable for a Commando in a clutch but fleshpounds? Rip...:(
4:46 "Acustically pleasing weapon" that sounds like it's firing 1.5 bullets per shot. I love the sound, but the audio guy was sleeping on the job last update. Reused sounds (looking at you full-auto FAL and Zed Time HM Tech 501!), weak sounds, it's a mess. :c
Kinda wish the commando had a skill that activated zed time after x amount of time or kills. Would be kinda cool. Rather than it just being random and activating at the worst time possible lol
A note about the GODLIKE M16-M203 for commando, use increase reload perk and your grenade launcher reloads faster YES THAT'S RIGHT, this allows you to take on groups of quarter pounds which can be a lifesaver if your team is distracted also, the impact damage if the fuse doesn't go off is enough to stumble large zeds such as the scrake, I don't have to explain all day why a machine gun with a 60 round mag, impact/explosive secondary that reloads as fast as demo (demo shouldn't be using reload+ anyway but w/e) that can stumble large zeds and atomise large groups of trash ALSO you can fit an upgraded SCAR with a fully upgraded M16. TBH that's just a bonus of this legendary weapon that I think it's utility to adapt to almost any situation is sorely underrated.
I usually go SCAR and Stoner with full left side perks. Mainly because i always seem to find myself reloading during zed time. Might try to swap out the stoner for the FNFAL though, just to see how it works~
I hope we can get some more expanded Lmg options in the future it’d be so fun to tear through zeds with them even if the weight and reload time are nuts
Holy shit the music at the end is so loud! But the guide was good, i mean, i spend over 600 hours as Commando, and watched it for entertainment, and tips was actually right.
Man, I am really out of place in this game... I love the L85A2, but reluctant to use the AK12. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who's like this, but it sure feels like I am lol.
Stoner + Sentinel + C4. All Perks on the right side. Maybe swap extended mags for tactical reload, but the drone will kill anything that tries to attack while reloading. C4 for Fleshpounds. Ess gus, you try.
I like the Bullpub & Stoner combo. Sadly it fills up my weight 15/15 & neither can be upgraded. (I really wish we didn't have to keep the pistol if we didn't want to.)
M16 is my favourite of them all. Its my go-to-weapon with commando. Its high RoF and low recoil combo makes it easy to put whole magazine into fp face. Dont mentioning the buffed m203.
I think any class has decent lvl25 perks, so the commando gets a peak in value in lvl25 lobbies. Dont know if its been changed but I personally go for extra damage instead of extra HP/Armor. Normally I pick up at least one medic weapon (depending on the need), and never the extended mags so far. Guess Im gonna try that.
You should always start with HP/ARMOR and then swap so that you may start the game with 25% free armor for better economy. This will take a bit of practice but wave 1 can be handled with just your knife, preserving your ammo for wave 2 and as such avoid needing to shop. This of course implies you went with Fallback.
I see that Horzine Armour you have there. I love that outfit, usually because I pop it on Reverend Alberts with brown hair and glasses for a Scottish Gordon Freeman. Oh yeah, Commando's fairly cool. I'm too much of a sucker for the Stoner, and the SCAR's low clip size always annoyed my admittedly spray-and-pray style when playing Commando.
Do you think there’s even a point to playing Commando if you intend to use the FN Fal for the majority of mid-late rounds? Id rather just keep the rack em up from Sharpshooter
Extending Zedtime is very important, especially for level 25 players. In a multiplayer setting, it's much more advantageous to stay Commando if you're the only one.
My biggest issue with High Capacity Magazines is a bit more personal. I suffer from this horrible gaming disease called "Chronic "R" Button Syndrome" where I treat every fucking gun like it's a shotgun and reload after almost every encounter. This is why Support is one of my main played classes behind Field Medic and Berserker and why Tactical Reload works a bit better for me when playing commando. Also since I played with shotguns a lot, I also have gotten pretty good with controlling even really high recoil which is why I don't really need Hollow Point Rounds.

M16 is THE only choice on demo. You really don't need an upgraded T5 weapon. Especially if you're not going to be able to survive long enough to use it. The grenade pistol and upgraded 9's just don't cut it. You need the trash clearing capability, especially up close. Edit: I suppose I oughta make it clear that my perspective on usefulness comes only from the most difficult settings in the game. Optimising builds for hard mode, or 7 wave suicidal is just silly.
ArmyStrongGangflu your role is the big game killer stick near the commando so you can be safe from trash and you can blow up the big thing. Unless you are talking about solo.

As a pessimistic Commando main who has often been envious of the SWAT's MP5 and increased armor, that line at 1:18 really jumped out at me

It was a tough call, but there were things that I thought were wrong with some simple testing. I agree with you totally, they were extremely disrespectful at first contact. While that may be because UA-camrs, as a general rule, tend to be a bit resistant to criticism, they made little effort in being polite (with some exceptions). However, I will admit their tune did a 180 after showing genuine interest. It is true you will always catch more flies with honey, the truth is the truth regardless of its presentation.

My favorite Commando loadout is the HM501 Medic Grenade Rifle and the M16/M203+1. The Medic Grenades provide quick self healing and great close range defense if you get cornered, boxed in, or swarmed from all sides by trash, and the M16 grenades provide crowd control and enough burst to engage Scrakes or even lone Fleshpounds if necessary. Very versatile loadout that holds up in almost every possible situation.
Alternatively, SCAR +1 instead of M16 is a fine option too. HM501 for trash, SCAR for medium zeds and the occasional big zed. Almost matches the damage of FNFal but with much more ammo capacity and efficiency (far less wasteful to use on trash).

If you're playing solo, I've found that the Ak-12 paired with the Stoner is an effective combo. Ak for restoring Zed Time and trash, and the Stoner for FP and Scrakes
I just love M16 M203. It's fun to play, can support dealing with stunned big zeds really well, and you can restart zedtime with its granade if your clip's empty. Some may scream at me, but I love just upgrading M16 to tier 5 and use it with Prepared perk and not using any other weapon for as long as i can (i buy a backup gun if needed).
Love to play as the Commando due to sheer extensions it can bring. :D
Only thing I hate is that I am awful against fleshpounds. Scrakes are manageable for a Commando in a clutch but fleshpounds? Rip...:(

A note about the GODLIKE M16-M203 for commando, use increase reload perk and your grenade launcher reloads faster YES THAT'S RIGHT, this allows you to take on groups of quarter pounds which can be a lifesaver if your team is distracted also, the impact damage if the fuse doesn't go off is enough to stumble large zeds such as the scrake, I don't have to explain all day why a machine gun with a 60 round mag, impact/explosive secondary that reloads as fast as demo (demo shouldn't be using reload+ anyway but w/e) that can stumble large zeds and atomise large groups of trash ALSO you can fit an upgraded SCAR with a fully upgraded M16. TBH that's just a bonus of this legendary weapon that I think it's utility to adapt to almost any situation is sorely underrated.
I usually go SCAR and Stoner with full left side perks. Mainly because i always seem to find myself reloading during zed time. Might try to swap out the stoner for the FNFAL though, just to see how it works~

Well the cool part is the m16 gets the damage bonuses for both bullet damage and explosive damage when in the hands of the commando

You are not the only one, the L85A2 just feels right and the AK doesn't feel right IMO. I know the "correct" choice is AK, but damn if I care.
Stoner + Sentinel + C4. All Perks on the right side. Maybe swap extended mags for tactical reload, but the drone will kill anything that tries to attack while reloading. C4 for Fleshpounds. Ess gus, you try.
I like the Bullpub & Stoner combo. Sadly it fills up my weight 15/15 & neither can be upgraded. (I really wish we didn't have to keep the pistol if we didn't want to.)

M16 is my favourite of them all. Its my go-to-weapon with commando. Its high RoF and low recoil combo makes it easy to put whole magazine into fp face. Dont mentioning the buffed m203.

If your team has 2 level 15 Commandos, can they still reach 6 extensions or will it cap at 4?
Why would you go for an ak-12 with your medic rifle when you can have the scar instead which is better than the ak in all aspects besides mag size?

I think any class has decent lvl25 perks, so the commando gets a peak in value in lvl25 lobbies. Dont know if its been changed but I personally go for extra damage instead of extra HP/Armor.
Normally I pick up at least one medic weapon (depending on the need), and never the extended mags so far. Guess Im gonna try that.
You should always start with HP/ARMOR and then swap so that you may start the game with 25% free armor for better economy. This will take a bit of practice but wave 1 can be handled with just your knife, preserving your ammo for wave 2 and as such avoid needing to shop. This of course implies you went with Fallback.
Commando is my favourite perk class. Best load out in my opinion is HMtech 401 upgraded and SCAR H upgraded with extended mags

Oh yeah, Commando's fairly cool. I'm too much of a sucker for the Stoner, and the SCAR's low clip size always annoyed my admittedly spray-and-pray style when playing Commando.

Extending Zedtime is very important, especially for level 25 players. In a multiplayer setting, it's much more advantageous to stay Commando if you're the only one.

My biggest issue with High Capacity Magazines is a bit more personal. I suffer from this horrible gaming disease called "Chronic "R" Button Syndrome" where I treat every fucking gun like it's a shotgun and reload after almost every encounter. This is why Support is one of my main played classes behind Field Medic and Berserker and why Tactical Reload works a bit better for me when playing commando. Also since I played with shotguns a lot, I also have gotten pretty good with controlling even really high recoil which is why I don't really need Hollow Point Rounds.
Another well made video as per usual I'm sure, but I'm so early it's only 360p z.z no offense Richard but I'm waiting another 10min to get some hd quality ^^
M16 is THE only choice on demo. You really don't need an upgraded T5 weapon. Especially if you're not going to be able to survive long enough to use it. The grenade pistol and upgraded 9's just don't cut it. You need the trash clearing capability, especially up close.
Edit: I suppose I oughta make it clear that my perspective on usefulness comes only from the most difficult settings in the game. Optimising builds for hard mode, or 7 wave suicidal is just silly.
ArmyStrongGangflu your role is the big game killer stick near the commando so you can be safe from trash and you can blow up the big thing. Unless you are talking about solo.
