    There's a guy near me who's an arborist and has a mill/kiln situation going on with big barns full of slabs. It's just a joy to go there and see what fun stuff he's gotten dried every few weeks!

    You know what no one ever builds any more. Cedar Chests for the foot of the bed. I think that willow would make an excellent Willow Chest.

      I've only had one experience with willow. It was easy to work, but sucks for sanding; just gets all furry. Need to use some kind of sharpened edge to get a smooth finish.

    Hey, you should invest $300-350 for wireless "Rode Go 2" mics or "DJI Mic" so we can all hear you better!

    steel toe caps Jordan ! tsk tsk. Like that cross cutter set up that slab is amazing. The live edge you pull off if you stick it in a cylinder or square mould with resin, you can make some funky table lamps as a secret sauce extra for your clients, plus its a manageable size so you use it for QC control. Great show guys! Hopefully see you next week with your craftsmanship coolness and Jordans toes intact!

    Get some fresh blades on your planer and jointer before you try and mill up that willow, it is a softer species and likes to tear out. Also cauls on all your clamps, you can dent the sap wood pretty easily

    I want to see a pencil made from the willow ;)
    I want to see the grain pop. hard to imagine something when it just looks bleached out with the light and cameras moving around so fast.

  • @josephzizza915
    @josephzizza915 2 роки тому +1

    I want to see you cut as many squares out of it as possible and have alternating grain all the way to the edge. Not sure what type of joining you would do but maybe run some pipe through it for durability. Might go well since you're building it for a bunch of pipe layers. If you want to stain it in different color that would be cool.

    I mean if were getting really squirley then i would pult like a clear tubing through the table or some where with some LEDs and some water that goes through the pipes. Maybe some colored water or black water or something like that. Or maybe go steam-punkish and do the black pipes like you said previous and have a bunch of shiny brass fittings with a shiny black epoxy on the surface and more shiny brass lettering of some sort.... so many ideas!
