Thanks for supporting local guys like Jason, we have been buying mulch from him for 20 yrs. He is a nice guy!
Omg Jordan!!
In such a good way!
Jordan rocking the Roshe's. Can't wait to see you guys setting up the sawmill!
About time someone recognized my shoe game
@@jordanheider2662 I gotchu.
This slab is beautiful! I am from Latvia, and I'm cutting slabs too, a have different oak slabs till 6 meters long an 1.9 meters wide, so I love work with wood! So if you want to take a look to our huge slabs I can send you some pictures!
There's a guy near me who's an arborist and has a mill/kiln situation going on with big barns full of slabs. It's just a joy to go there and see what fun stuff he's gotten dried every few weeks!
Oh i bet Charles, that sounds awesome!
You know what no one ever builds any more. Cedar Chests for the foot of the bed. I think that willow would make an excellent Willow Chest.
I’ve never seen willow slabs before, those look really awesome. Looking forward to what you Yinz come up with for them
I've only had one experience with willow. It was easy to work, but sucks for sanding; just gets all furry. Need to use some kind of sharpened edge to get a smooth finish.
Hey John. I know it wouldn’t be very big but doing something like a kitchen sink out of wood would be pretty squirrelly!
Woodmizer is great for beginners. I watch Out of the Woods channel and he was using it for years.
I think we’ve made a decision on something…. Stay tuned!
Resin table Yeah the boys!
Just wanted to say, started watching yall a few months ago and you guys gave me the push of confidence i needed to start messing around with epoxy. Officially finished a few art pieces for the wife. Ready to go bigger now!
absolutely beautiful and BadAss. Hopefully they get great use out of it for many years to come boys. Can't wait to see more videos soon John. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Keep making. Stay squirrely. God bless.
I have had ideas for a pair of desks for my wife and I. We both love your style of work and once we find a place that can handle said awesomeness, we'd love to head your way.
All my life I've lived just a mile or two from the Wood-Mizer world headquarters and it wasn't until well into my adulthood that I even knew what they did or how big of a deal they were in the sawmill industry.
Love looking at slabs! Exciting what you guys will come up with!
Hey, you should invest $300-350 for wireless "Rode Go 2" mics or "DJI Mic" so we can all hear you better!
They are super easy to use and very forgiving!!
steel toe caps Jordan ! tsk tsk. Like that cross cutter set up that slab is amazing. The live edge you pull off if you stick it in a cylinder or square mould with resin, you can make some funky table lamps as a secret sauce extra for your clients, plus its a manageable size so you use it for QC control. Great show guys! Hopefully see you next week with your craftsmanship coolness and Jordans toes intact!
Sheetz all the way! It would be awesome to see that willow piece turned into and outdoor wet bar top. I know it is freezing 🥶 right now, but that slab has me thinking about summer.
A book shelf for your office and a matching desk, lots of metal, wood, and epoxy. Channel your inner Viking.
I almost didn't believe you were from Pennsylvania till I heard you say youins. I lived in western PA for a bit. Blairsville and Blacklick to be exact. Beautiful state. Somedays I miss it.
Damn, what a place! That's paradise! 😬
Stay safe there with your families, guys! 🖖😊
I bought a wood mizer lx 25 a year ago, as a carpenter it’s probably the best tool I’ve bought
I love everything you do!
love to see more saw mill content I rough cut lumber with a Alaska mill myself Have you ever heard of shopSmith I recently got one I would love to see one on your channel It's quite the novelty wood working tool
Sheetz is one of the few things I miss about my time spent living in PA!
River table with bits and bobs (personal items perhaps?) that the three of you choose to put in and the shop emblem in the center
Why are lumber guys always so wholesome?
If you have small piece left over a 3x3 plaque for a beautiful Veterans Park (in N.J.) would be kick ass w/resin lettering. Me and my DPW guys built this project and we are super proud of it.
it still blows my mind someone like you is so freaking close to me i use to live in the town the sawmill is in
Do I know you?
I went to ligoner school untill 2013 graduated from latrobe 2015
pretty excited for the build video
This was a fun episode, very candid. I like it.
I live in Batesville, Indiana where they make Wood Mizer saw mills. Great people. I know they will treat you right. Let me know if you need any introductions. Brad
A changing table would help with the baby and maybe the inflation issue and if it’s straight enough it may guide jordan
This is a legitimately cool idea. A three levels of changing table episode would be rad. Just remember to include all the safety specs.
How am I just finding your channel? This is amazing
Great video. So good to see something different
I would love to follow an already great channel move into milling!
Nice wood, John!!!
I picked up some nice maple off marketplace a few years ago made a bench out of two smaller pieces and a nice table with another.
I would love to see you guys do a deer pedestal mount with some cool epoxy work added to it!!!
Freestanding bookshelf, where the 2 uprights are also live edges? Maybe with some interesting joinery to connect the shelves.
Wawa rules!
The edges would look cool as the border of a pool table
Gonna be beautiful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love all your Vids........ BUT MAKE LONGER ONES!!
Get some fresh blades on your planer and jointer before you try and mill up that willow, it is a softer species and likes to tear out. Also cauls on all your clamps, you can dent the sap wood pretty easily
Woodmizer is really close to my house, I drive by a lot and they have tons of mills sitting out there all the time.
Wow, that guy is even taller than John. They're making Jordan look like a high schooler, haha
If you are serious about starting a saw mill, you need to watch Out of the Woods on UA-cam. Awesome and you'll learn a lot.
Hey John, Northwest Sawyer has a wood mizer. He is a really cool guy. Just a helpful suggestion.
D&D table. I need to build one for my brother in law and need inspiration!
Sheetz rocks!!
Hey John squirly idea how about a wooden toilet urinal for your new shop/office. Or some mad broken floating resiny book case/shelf??👍🏴
You guys inspire me
I want to see a pencil made from the willow ;)
I want to see the grain pop. hard to imagine something when it just looks bleached out with the light and cameras moving around so fast.
I want to see you cut as many squares out of it as possible and have alternating grain all the way to the edge. Not sure what type of joining you would do but maybe run some pipe through it for durability. Might go well since you're building it for a bunch of pipe layers. If you want to stain it in different color that would be cool.
Large conf table with real water flowing down the center. You do that and you really will be super squirrely!
Good lookin slabs
I mean if were getting really squirley then i would pult like a clear tubing through the table or some where with some LEDs and some water that goes through the pipes. Maybe some colored water or black water or something like that. Or maybe go steam-punkish and do the black pipes like you said previous and have a bunch of shiny brass fittings with a shiny black epoxy on the surface and more shiny brass lettering of some sort.... so many ideas!
would love to see a follow on on how you dealt with the bow in the wood.
Can you do a video showing the behind the scenes production of a video y'all do? Do you have somebody that does the shooting or is it a job you all share together? Also, who edits the videos? Not super important questions, but always been curious. Great work!
Great find at a local guy. I think you should make a live edge dog crate. That would look sick in the shop or home.
Sheets over Wawa? Those sound like fighting words!
for some reason it took me a minute to understand what you were saying because i kept hearing wall nut and i was trying to figure out what a wall nut is and why you need some
Sorry Sheetz gives you the shitz! Wawa all the way. Are we going to see a Woodmizer sponsored video soon? If so, should have Cremona do the opening🙂
You should get a trick bed extension for moving slabs like that
Tensegrity pool table for the new shop
Try Alderfer Lumber in central PA. Tons of slabs and already flattened. Best prices in the state
Seeing a door made out a slab in the epoxy river style would be really cool!
Live edge River Lounge chair!
Haha I can FEEL the Pittsburgh accent from Jason
Need to check out The Hardwood Mall in Emlenton PA (on I80 just east of Grove City)
Yeah Sheets!!
Never been here this early 🤌🏻
So what I would love to see is a all in one conference table…..usb ports where every chair is gonna be at….a pop up projector (angled pop up)….with telecom built in also…..it’s a hefty order but if anyone could get squirmy with all that it would you!!!
John you need to make a bath tub out of wood!!
Sheets over Wawa!? I will fight you because that's crazy!
I have a willow oak in back yard that's well over 100 years old. Trunk is about 6 foot diameter.
Have yall ever built a gun cabinet??. Or maybe an old school China hutch??
I don’t know who made it first, but how about you build a functional chest of drawers that looks like it’s broken. Perhaps struck by lightning in the middle. I would love to see your take on that!!
that would be Matthew Peech and the dresser is The Mad Hatter
Sheetz better than Wawa? Those definitely are fighting words! Let's go! Don't worry though, afterwords while you lick your wounds I'll buy you a brew at D's or Sidelines (I miss those joints) and we can discuss ideas for a cool, cross-state collaboration ;-)
that willow is gonna be sick!...... put the get squirrely logo in the center of the river on your conference table !!!
John you need a bad ass desk
Gotta have a WAWA.
I’m interested in building a TV entertainment center with live edge overtop a classic cabinet.
great job, nice video I wou like to see a nice Head Board and Foot Board
You need to contact Mike with outdoor with the Morgan’s for some slabs
The wood I get looks like some one was jumping on the saw as it was cutting. I get some thick, some thin and some that look wavy all the way down. 😑 it's just construction grade 1x12s but damn... also like 1/4 of every stack is broken.
I hope those who read my comments are given health and success and longevity
Hidden compartment night stand with two drawers!
The thing I miss most about PA: Sheetz!
Ok John I want to see a bad ass ping pong table made from some of that beautiful slabs of wood! I think it’s a win win for everyone. Boost the moral in the shop and you will have probably the coolest looking ping pong table ever.
Dude. Yinz better make a skeebal table with one of those.
I have an LX250 it's just like he said, even you guys could operate it.
You definitely need a saw mill now! Check out the Wood Miser on Out of The Wood's UA-cam channel.
WaWa for life
Rutters is the way to go
I’d like to see a mesquite Les Paul build
Save the willow bark. The inner bark is aspirin.
Sheetz over Wawa? You must've taken too many hits to the head when you played ball..... :) Can't wait to see what yinz make with that willow slab
My wife just gave me the go ahead to finally buy a game table...sooooooo yeah. Also I am still a big fan of doing the craps table.
Wawa , only because there are no Sheetz in my area!
