just regular guys, dressed like they are going to mow grass, playing excellent music together...they enjoy what they are doing and are all pros. Unlike most other on stage shows, for PF it's always been about the music, not "look at me and how great i am". one of my fav song

I was at this concert at Earls Court in London in October 1994.. Tripping my tits off after taking 100 magic mushrooms and the visuals were unbelievable already so imagine what I was seeing 😂 I was sitting in the balcony directly opposite the giant mirror ball to the left looking at the stage which came down from the ceiling in Comfortably Numb, also which you can't notice aswell on the videos is the lasers were bouncing back off the ceiling so going in every direction ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STILL GIVES ME SHIVERS WHEN I WATCH THE PULSE CONCERT brings back memories that will live with me forever

The reason why Floyd started doing amazing visuals and efforts on stage was basically when they started in the mid 60's the Stones and The Who used bounce like madmen on stage and Floyd basically couldn't be arsed just wanted to play their instruments so started experimenting with lights and colours so fans would have something to watch on stage cos they just wanted to play instruments

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

I like seeing people who are new to Floyd, don't know the history and have no issue putting post-Waters songs right up there with the 70's stuff if they love it. Somehow older Floyd fans always feel the need to seperate it and god forbid you should like Sorrow or High Hopes more than Dogs or Us and Them or something.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

Pink Floyd's songs are both amazing & timeless. The songs, the meaning behind them & those we derive from life experiences. Are as applicable today, as when they were 1st written

When people say often about the Pink Floyd sound, "This is so beautiful!", what they mean is that it's a beautiful experience. This is why you often hear, "l don't know what to say!" because you would be required to describe the experience itself. That's a whole lot of psychology. The only understanding l've reached is that the pentatonic scale is often relevant to 'what is being done to you' when you're in the motions of being Floyded.
Pink Floyd is a verb as well as a noun.
You my friend, have been totally Floyded! Welcome to the beautiful machine!

Three thumbs up!! Brilliant! I think it's time you did a full album reaction: Dark Side of the Moon, side 1 in one reaction then side 2 in the second. Also for Wish You Were Here. Even though you've already heard most of the songs, it's different when you hear the entire album, the way it's meant to be. Love your Pink Floyd reactions.

Dave played this song on his last concert"Live at Pompeii" with no big light production. Just him playing "The Black Strat" been held up with Jimi Hendrix guitar strap( hear the beginning and end). Dave play the best I have ever heard him play at this concert AT 70 yrs old.

Also the lasers you see on the video don't do them justice because they were rebounding and bouncing off the ceiling so were going in all different directions + you say that the colours were bright their on the night the colours were far stronger and intense.. The Pulse video is amazing but being there took it to a completely different universe

Felt sorry for the people sitting in the front because the row of lights below the stage were blinding and I was up in the balcony to the left of the stage in the middle of the Stadium directly opposite the giant Mirror Ball on Comfortably Numb

Kinda Trippy 😂 that comment you just made, made me giggle, I was at the Pulse concert in Earls Court in London in October 94 and I'd taken a 100 magic mushrooms 🍄 and was tripping my tits off, was getting traces off the lasers so seeing like 10times the amount. Funny story we had driven down from home City Liverpool and got lost in London anyways mushrooms were kicking in and I'm sitting in the back of the car and I looked up into the sky and saw Pink Floyd written across the sky well I didn't want to make out I was proper hallucinating so kept quiet whilst all my mates panicking thinking were lost anyway I eventually said I no this sounds mad but I'm hallucinating and seeing Pink Floyd on in the sky. So my mates get out of the car and it was lasers off the roof of Earls Court so people could see were Earls Court is because it was in a really built up area around housing away from the centre of London so I got the piss ripped out of me by my mates for not saying something sooner but I didn't wanna look like I was seeing Pink Floyd in the sky and it was just an hallucination 😅 EPIC NIGHT WILL LIVE WITH ME FOREVER
