@@jon4715 That is true, but it's a good thing and it's also something that the right needs to do. Like it or not, the left doesn't hesitate to call out its own for perceived ill will. Something the right would never do. It's part ethics and part damage control. When the Al Franken allegations were brought to light, it took them about 5 seconds to get rid of him. If we held our own accountable in the same way, we'd be in a much better position. The current state of right-wing affairs in the USA is truly the reflection of "I could shoot someone on 5th Ave."

I'm on the Left, always have been, I completely fail to see why anyone can think being anti-crime is Right-wing. I'm against oppressive laws which shackle the poor and vulnerable but Law and Order are arguably more important to the poor and vulnerable than they are to the rich since they can't protect themselves as well. Small crimes like shoplifting small amounts should be punished but fast and fairly otherwise it encourages others to do the same and you end up with people thinking 'I'm the fool for not stealing since everyone else does' and it is the worst off in society who suffer the most from it.
The progressives have picked up the goal post for the left and took off running is the issue. They’re pushing so far left they’re circling back to right in some aspects. It’s also pulling the right to the left so that center issues become right and right beliefs becomes racism, nationalism, etc.
When I was a kid they had deterrents for shoplifting, like making someone take anti shoplifting classes in order to stay out of jail. I think that worked to deter teenagers from becoming lifelong shoplifters, because these courses weren’t just a punishment, they taught kids things like how they hurt small businesses by stealing. Now we just don’t bother prosecuting shoplifters at all, because “Small store owners are capitalists, and capitalism bad.”
So these guys just had a Q&A livestream. I asked them if they would invite you on stream to debate. Their response was, "nah we don't debate incels." What cowards.

So I live in the State of Illinois.. Is more specifically the suburbs of Chicago. We have a governor of this wonderful state who decided to get rid of bail.
Since then I've actually had to do a little thinking about what I believe about this.
It's left me with a question about how if we have the Constitution and we are presumed innocent until proven guilty then how can we actually lock anybody up? If you're innocent until proven guilty then nobody should spend any time in jail until you are proven guilty. Why is it we don't lock up actual innocent people and any other situation but if you can't pay bail you get locked up?
Its mostly do to danger, but if there is significant evidence against you, or having you on the street is either a flight risk before trial, or a danger to those in the community, you are put where u can be monitored for safety and assurance, now we do lock up actual innocent people sometimes, and when we find that the evidence doesnt support the claims, they are released. This is different to bail jumping, as with bail jumping its a crime that you arent really presumed innocent for, as bail jumping os whether you went to court on that date or not, its kinda like contempt of court, the judge knows the result before hand, tho typically lets you try and explain for lighter sentences. But if you see someone get arrested for theft, then released, then arrested for theft, then released, then again for theft, it should show they are a danger to the community, the problem with the ny bail reform, is there is no real consideration for the community, like in tgis case, two people were arrested for mutilating murder victims and disposing of the body, would you feel safe if your neighbor told you hes currently awaiting trial bc he was caught mutilating a murder victim.
Why is it, that in the USA every friggin aspect of life is being labelled "on the left" or "on the right"

The media took him out of context to claim he was threatening violence and further took his hyperbolic claims there would be no more elections that he was confessing to be a dictator when in context, he said that would happen if he lost implying his opponents are dictators.

I don't think you should go to jail for taking drugs if you are not committing another crime. You should be put into treatment with regular testing. American prisons especially are violent hellholes and to put a person with drug problems into a system where they will be fighting for their lives is beyond disgusting. The USA is a prison state. With only 4% of the global population, the USA has 22% of all producers on Earth. They have by far the worst crime rates in the developed world as they are using prisoners as slave labour and not attempting to rehabilitate them. Read the 13th Amendment., prisoners are legally slaves. So the USA has the largest slave labour camps in human history. 80% of cotton is still picked by black men in chains as this is why they are locking them up.

If you have an ongoing murder case, and you have four people who have tampered with and destroyed evidence, plus the fact it's the actual body, the idea that those people shouldn't be held on those charges whilst further investigations are made, is insanity.
