Ye I agree with ropes mate definitely a safety feature an doesn't make sense then removing them, but as you say if they give you an option with d rings on the sibs so you could put your own if they want to remove them then fair enough. Can't wait to see it in the flesh over the winter
Definitely would agree on the rope issue, and good for you on championing the safety aspect. I would urge your Mike guy to consider it, although your idea of having an option to add them later through some kind of hoops is a good idea. I know some weren’t keen on some of the excels rope quality(fine for us) on some of the forums, but at least you had the option to change them out if you wanted. I wonder if the manufacturers are perhaps saving a few pounds glueing on the handles rather than glueing on the whole strip for a rope? Maybe they feel it’s more cosmetically pleasing? But like you, or anyone else who’s been caught out in a bit of chop in an inflatable will know, is how important these ropes can be. Be interesting to to watch the development and transformation of this brand over time anyway.
Great video...thankyou...liking this boat.....and looking to buy for next year....the ropes a must for me....I seem to be unlucky and pick up pasdleboarders via Ch16 quite a bit...and they all grab my rope 😅...but essential
Thank you for your interest. Our new Maelstrom 380 HD Sport is a very similar spec to this boat and will be available later this year. If you are looking for something more bespoke please get in contact.
I'd have the ropes rather than the handles. You can't 'choose' where you need to grab in maybe an emergency. Anchor rubbing strip? Keep it! How much of a 'V' does the keel have? As I was put off the Excel's because of the flat keel and then the reports of them skipping when turning etc. Did you say they're double glued? Would stitched and glued not be better?? Could do with some more specs on their website though, or is this because they're still in the development stage??
Yea so when i flip it you will see the keel . But there are pictures showing how high the front is and much deeper than the previous excel range .. the double glue is on the seat rails , transom , handles.. bit as for stitched and glued construction I will need to find that out
There is a link in the description as it's a sample the details are limited because the product will be changed ... but if you are interested drop Mike an email in the link
