Alex! Harry seems like a proper good friend that you can be silly with and have a good time, I feel like that's a great indicator on how important that relationship is. Great video bud :)
I'll do you one better: I'm imagining him having a really, really, really big boat! A ship, even. Like a retired aircraft carrier, so he can section off a big part of the launch deck as a massive garden farm, with bees, and even a small forest/park area off one side with shade and things. A floating island of content, cruising the world.
The joy this morning when I get a notification of a new video from you. What next, Alex? Never a dull moment as you embrace life fully. A calmness yet joy descends. Awesome content, great videography, editing and production. I was walking in one of our Welsh lane's yesterday and there was a little pullover and I thought to myself - "That's an Alex spot", and then I found my first mushrooms - what a day. You've completely touched the heart of this 54 year old woman - live, love and laugh!
But actually, that's not entirely true... it makes swimming a bit harder, yes, but you can still swim. There's a video on YT that explains it and busting all the waders in water 'myths'.
I've been in the habit of watching Alex's videos as a nice way to wind down in the evenings for a while now, and there's no words for the look on my face when I realize they're made right in my back garden! You really show the beauty of West Sussex well, Alex - keep up the great work.
Get a set of flushers (often called ear muffs). They attach to a garden hose and the cups sit over the intake on the motor. You don't need a barrel of water then, just the hose. For launching - If one man then have the boat bow in to the land, get the motor running THEN get in and back carefully out until able to safely turn around. If two men then one gets in and has the motor running before the second man gets in. Consider getting/making a sling/strap to go over your shoulders for hauling the boat to the water. It will save a lot of strain on your hands and arms. Adventure awaits!
Two years later this motor is going strong ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
Watching from Wisconsin, where there are lakes, boats and good fishing everywhere. The camaraderie of fishing with a friend or dad or son is what makes it all worthwhile, and that's why Harry was right to say there are no bad days of fishing. A popular bumper sticker says, "A bad day of fishing is better than a great day at work." I would get one for you and bring it to London when i go in 10 days or so, but wouldn't know how to get it to you.
Love that you've now taken to the seas. The home I grew up in was waterfront in Connecticut and I was lucky to be able to sail and kayak everyday growing up. I love the water and it's part of my soul. There is nothing like reading the winds and tides, learning charter routes of the nearby docks and yacht clubs. I miss it so much. We had the Tartan 37', Chris Craft Launch 27, and my little baby Sunfish. Keep it up and never stop exploring the ocean
i love the fact that you never know what Alex is up to next, mushrooms, cabin in the mountains, vegi garden, bees, and now a little blow up boat and fishing ... keep going weirdo, i love it
Aww congratulations, nothing like fresh food from the sea. I believe your health points are now at factory settings. Well done and thank you for sharing the recipe.
Would you ever do a day in the life vid? It might not be very long (or not) but I think it’d be pretty cool just to see what you do every day, like checking on your bees or garden and such :D
If you still have the boat, when you finish in the sea mount the outboard to a wheelie bin filled with water and let it run for a bit as the outboard as a rubber impeller inside which pumps the cool water round the engine which if left with salt on the get eaten away like the rest of the engine. Happy sailing bud 👍🙏 love the vids.
Alex that was an amazing adventure and looked so much fun nice to see you fishing 🎣 again and catching your dinner to amazing work alex keep up the amazing filming to 🎥👏👍🎣😁
Nice that you have remained down-to-earth enough to be so excited for an inflatable boat. Refreshing compared to the other fishing madness on UA-cam. Enjoy, be safe and keep the videos coming!
Alex you're just getting bigger and better! The episodes get better each time, and when I see you post I know its going to be a great video. Can't wait for more
Hey bro. Love the channel! I live in Tampa bay and do a lot of boating. Please do yourself a favor and put those life jackets on before you go into the water, or don’t wear waders. Waders are super dangerous when they fill with water. They make a suction around your body and you can’t get them off, but you also can’t swim or float with them, so basically you end up like a rock going to the bottom. Wearing the inflatable life jackets is smart, just wear them from start to finish, even while launching the boat.
Nice! Though i do have a few things which i feel like could be a mistake: - a black boat gets REALLY hot in the sun, there's a reason why most boats are white, and that is it - Getting an air deck instead of an aluminium deck. The added stability of standing on metal instead of rubber will probably save you a few close calls (of falling in the water) Overall though, fun to see that you're getting into boating, have fun out there and stay safe!
yes, harry definitely seems to be fun friend to be with. make more videos with him. and you're about closing in on 300K subscribers. congratulations! very happy you were able to get that many subs in less than 3 years?
I enjoyed watching your enthusiasm about getting your boat and fishing, but as always things devolve back to Alex cooking, which was my favorite part. That squid dish looked amazing.
That was a fantastic video, good to see you getting some fishing in and mixing that in with your passion of cooking, it looked gorgeous. I hope to see more of these videos if possible. 😎🎣🐟
Great job guys with the new Rubber Ducky we use them for surf rescue / lifesavers over here and they are a lot of fun . Squid was a beauty and it always tastes better when you catch it yourself .
Your channel is becoming my comfort channel and I just found your channel yesterday. I really enjoy your videos it’s like you are doing the things I wish to do . Keep doing this great job and be you and take us along your journey🤍.
Hi, that squid looked really tasty. You guys need a VHF radio and license, dont rely on mobiles. Also be careful wearing waders, if you fall over you can really struggle to get back up or back on the boat once they fill up with water (even when you're just in shallow surf) Enjoyed the video though and looking forward to the next one.
My brother in law nearly drowned wearing waders launching a boat in the sea. His were thigh waders but chest waders fill with more water and become heavier. But the safety of wearing waders is questionable because of how they hold water. While they’re safe to wear on a boat, they may be hazardous if you fall into the water. Waders are neutrally buoyant, meaning they don’t sink or swim but float at the water level they’re in. If you fall overboard, your boot waders may fill with water, causing you to sink below the water. In addition, waders that go up to your chest may also fill with water. This extra weight may make it hard for you to climb back into the boat, leaving you exposed to dangerous currents and tides.
This is like a proper Dad comment and I know you’re young men and not kids. But for what it’s worth fro what I’ve seen of you and your brother on UA-cam, you’re a credit to your parents 👍
I have a 12ft inflatable with a 20hp motor. I fish out of Cook Inlet Alaska for Halibut. It's a very safe, stable little boat, I launch from the beach, so enjoyable. 🙂
When spooling up mono you have to set it up so that the bulk spool spins in the direction of the rod onto the reel. You can't lay it on the floor and just wind or the line goes onto the reel all twisted up.
Oh boy! Carl is going to be SO jealous!! Has he called to “borrow” the boat (pontoon panda) yet? He needs all the help he can get to improve his fishing skills😂
What a great boating adventure and awesome Squid off Brighton Pier. You two did it justice in that garden cook out recipe. Well worth the effort for sure :)
Next week..... Round the world in 80 days?!! Possibly not! But definitely more of the boat please your adventures are truly enjoyable. Take care everyone...
I used to have a 3,4m inflatable and launched from the lifeboat station in shoreham, brings back happy memories! try worm baits on arsley bombs or ball weights bouncing along the bottom for flatties and Bass!
Good to see you have a boat which will widen your fishing Horizons. Suggest you get a small trailer which fits the boat. Better for the boat which will increase its life expectancy. Enjoy your fishing.
There are no bad fishing days, they are all learning trips. If you don’t catch anything that day you pay attention to the time of year, water temperature and what bait did not work. But you need to pay attention to what fish are in the area during that time of year.
You should get mesh that covers the outside of it so in case a hook gets into the boat and won't pop. Or get a trolley motor so you don't need to waste gas to move around and you can troll and keep it from drifting but that's also what? An anchor is for
looks so much fun am concerned that ur not wearing the kill cord tho, one of those safety things that shouldn't be messed about with. Id also recommends doing bower boat level 2 u learn a bunch of stuff you may not have known or considered.

Alex is always taking his videos to the next level, the editing, music and video quality just keep getting better and better every time.
I said this like 3 weeks ago! His editing has taken some steps up lately!
Totally agreed mate. His foraging video from Germany last year was off the scale. I don’t think he knows the level he is at. Class.
Yeah, you walk away with a smile thinking about it. So good!

‘Proper Friend’
