Boatworld do some excellent cheap boat bags (for bow and also for the seats) that are on elasticated straps and simply clip to the boats rubbing strip.

Nice one Oban. Clear & concise help & advice, particularly like the speed section, it's only the outboard weight differential that keeps me from moving to 4st from 2st. Punctured floor? I thought you had a rubber roll mat flooring to protect it? Am going to order a Lomo seat cushion now😃
Very, very nice setup! That thing must fly with that 20hp.. Wouldn’t you like to have a Bimini top to protect from the sun? There’s a Canadian company that sells these suctions to attach them to the tubes. I have them on mine, I see if I can find the link..
@@obanonthewater7796 I done one last year but ended up deleting it because I purchased a lot more gear, I'll do one next time! Can't wait for this to be over and come down your way... 🤞🤞
I've been looking at the Hydrus. I was wondering if the epropulsion spirit electric engine would be sufficient if I wanted to stay inside of the breakwater, specifically I'd want it to cope with being able to get me from the plym and across to the Tamar, but thinking it might not be able to cope with the tidal flow entering/leaving river around devils. Storage of the sib would be another question. Is boat yard storage an option, leaving it inflated on a trailor? Are you aware of anyone who Stowe's their sib this way?
Have you checked the weight of that Honda 20? About 50kg. I have a Mercury 7.5HP at about 30kg and it is about as heavy of an engine as I’m willing to load into the boot of my car. I can easily lift 50kg, but outboards are unwieldy, especially when you’re trying to put that prop in.
Nice set up, have something similar on my F-rib 360. I have a Raymarine fish finder with Navionics loaded on it, it runs off a battery box sitting on the floor of the boat but I like the idea of having a battery box with the fish finder mounted on top. How is the box fitted to the seat without it falling off ?
Hi I just wanted to ask about drilling into a marine ply floor. I want to put in a couple of straps for my fuel tank - is there an issue with cutting a couple of slots into marine ply? Thanks.
Excellent video! What made you go for Tohatsu over, say Suzuki? I'm downgrading or at least downsizing from a Warrior 175 with a 140 to something like this and I'm inclined to stick with Suzuki but your engine looks good! And I gather it's the lightest in its class....?
One or two questions, please. You mentioned you have a floor covering for the boat.Is that a covering made specifically for the boat or something you have made yourself? Also, can you buy a thwart/seat for the forrard part of the boat as i have a friend who is a big lad and is getting on in years and he wouldn't be happy sitting on the side tube. Finally, does the boat pack down to a reasonable size that could fit into the back of a van or in a box trailer?...Good vids, btw and happy future fishing.
Did you ever raise your engine on that? With so much splash your cav plate is probably too low, and engines around that time did switch to 17" instead of 16", like my tohatsu
I tried to send a pm but couldn't work out how to. I've recently taken my 3.6m Air deck out with a now new 20hp (I upgraded from the 12hp). I've had the issue before with the smaller engine but wanted to see what your thoughts were. Just before full plane, I get a hump in the deck and then a pop up effect, some call it aeration. Does the excell have the same issue/trait? All pressures are as stated on the plate.....my next option is to over inflate the keel and deck to see if it stops/reduces the issue. Any feed back from you or others will be greatly appreciated
Hi, thanks for your videos, they’ve been so informative in helping me get into sibbing. One question, as I notice yours is the tohatsu electric start: are you using the same battery that’s charging your Striker to start your outboard? I can see the wire just creeping out of shot. As I need to get a motorbike battery to do the same.
I like the scotty mounts a lot. They don't mess about with naff adhesive pads instead it's just a big mounting patch that you 2 part glue. Such a solid mount that I'll often use the rod holder as a handle to brace myself when traveling at speed. Railblaza do have such a good variety though!
Hi Oban Great video. I have ordered the Hydrus 3 and just wondered how you get on with your launch wheels. They seem like they would be a bit more robust than the long arm ones and any info would be great before I push the order button on a set. Thanks
I really like these wheels as they can take a fair load and work very well on concrete stone and hard sand. Not so good on soft sand but then again there aren't many that are. If I could give you one bit of advice it would be to get the quick release ones so you can take them off when folding the boat away. I didn't get that version and regret it massively!

Oban, thanks for vlogs, I am seriously thinking of getting on the water, mainly fresh water but would like the option of getting on the salt. I'm restricted for storage, so my questions are, do you deflate your Sib after each fishing trip, and do you think 25hp would be overkill. I may of missed this point in your last vlogs but any info would be greatly appreciated. Have a Better New Year All. Much Love xx
I realise this is an old post but I will throw in an answer; Perfectly fine deflating and inflating each time. The warmer the weather, the easier it is. Anything bigger than a 20hp 4 stroke is mighty heavy.
After having recently bought a sib setup myself, I have decided to get a trailer for mine, you can fold it away and unbelievably I can fit my entire setup (4.2m aluminium floor sib and 9.9hp 4stroke outboard + all my fishing/spearfishing kit) into a renault clio with the seats folded down and a roof box. However it is heavy! My boat is 80kg, and then the outboard is 40kg, with all my kit it totals probably about 140-150kg. I found it very hard work to pull it up and down a boat ramp. Also the full setup time for me is about 45 mins to an hour + 20-30 mins of loading into or out of the car, so for a day out its a total of atleast 2-3 hours of setup and pack away time (not including cleaning etc) for that reason I have decided to get a trailer to make everything much easier on my back and also much quicker. I was worried that if it became too much of a hassle to use the boat then I may not use it as much as I would like to. Hope this helps
