- This is how you "step your game up!" Since people here on you tube like to down us/others and really do a half ass job themselves! Deleting the mufflers was a sort of "last minute" decision that was a great one!! SLP Cat back Exhaust(from 2000-2005) works perfectly fine on the 06-07 W bodies! Don't let ANYONE tell you different. And since then, gas mileage has increase about 2 miles per gallons!!!

SSC Lowering springs: 1.7 front 1.5 rear
debadged the rest of the "SS" emblems that were on the doors

oh btw ... i saw that you commented on Mrnascarss POS "loud" exhaust on an 2007 and nearly died laughing .... thank you for being a classy individual and doing this car and all ls4 owners justice in not misrepresenting the last good 2 door V8 SS chevrolet made ... solely on inspiration from your videos i promise to get some of mine

Cause ur the second person I've heard with that sound on that same yr monte carlo, and straight pipe i ran on my two door Tahoe and it sound great but before it was straight pipe i had a glass pack and the guy who put it on said it would b loud the damn truck was quiet, and i took it back and told to take it off and he looked at me crazy and when he did the truck sound like a monster coming down the street. The back cat i never heard of

GREAT AIR FLOW 4 Exhaust System,I c u rather go no cat then high flow cats & I have 06 & I got magnaflow full cap-back w/ high flow cats Still deep sound on start up & after 3 to 3 1/2 RPM ur car looks almost identical expect my rims spokes different & mine seats have that ugly tan leather. I like the blacked out rear Chevy emblem. I got an SS off d back of a Cobalt SS & i put it on the front instead of the Chevy logo & blacked out my tails n of course my 3rd break u can c in my icon
@demariojason I was young and stupid I guess :/ I was only 22 but still stupid nonetheless. I was dreading winter when I saw a HUGE 2002 silverado 2500HD that had been lifted 6 inches..sooo I traded my SS for it. Then when I couldn't afford to pay $75 per week in gas, I traded that for a 2007 Scion tc that had: been lowered, TRD exhaust, intake, short throw shifter, nice rims, and had tint. The only reason I got one of those is because I wanted something good on gas, but not a lame as a Honda :p
@demariojason Ignorance is not knowing/being uninformed.Read your description.Your "Steppin' Up" is akin to bellyin' up to the bar and ordering milk,,,,in a dirty glass.Steppin up is tossin a turbo on that FWD suedo performance car.Not an exhaust system.U give yourself too much credit as if you performed a major accomplishment beyond what others have.You're just silly and full of yourself exhaust boy.Extrusion polish the heads,turbo it,reprogram the CPU,mod the trans THEN you're "SteppinUp".
I'm not a "hater" as some would like to brand and since comments are open I'll speak.This is not "Steppin Up"."Steppin Up" is major engine mod's such as,cam,head extrusion porting,turbo,major engine swap/upgrade.Not exhaust,brakes,minor suspension mods and debadging.What's the sense in debadging?Aerodynamics?Did you remove the badges yourself?Skillfull.You paid an extra hefty cost for those plastic pieces.Don't hurt your shoulder pattin yourself on the back there,Richard Petty.
@demariojason ... im really torn between getting something cheap and then selling it for the same or more when gas peaks around july or august, you know, some subtle tweaks here and there, and a set of rims can pull some good craigslist money ... or taking what i got and putting it towards a 05-08 cobalt 4cyl manual ... and just paying off the remainder for 2 years and garaging the monte for a while ... damn usa economic bullshit and gas prices, where i live is already $4.05 for premium
@demariojason ... what i meant was if sound is factored into pureness, level of exhaust and such on a scale of 10 where 10 is straight piped, 1 is a hybrid car ... then im about 7, loud enough for fun, but not for tickets ... and thanks for the vote of confidence on my car ... i just wish i could afford the things i want to do to it, but im trying to save for another car, in preparation for the gas nightmare that this summer will be ... hopefully a 5 speed cavalier or focus
@demariojason ... wait, you mean i wasnt the first person to put thrush weldeds on the LS4 ... damn and i thought i was being original ... i still wish i could pull off the catless DP, and straight pipes ... but living near cook county and chicago, you can not hope to run straight pipes without getting pulled over ... and with illinois emissions testing ... it just cant be done ... guess i have to just watch your video and pretend im that loud, if yours is a 10, im about an 7 ...
@demariojason Well its black on black its the 3,4 non ss but i upgraded from a fully decked out ford focus to the bigger body more room car. Its in great shape, just I want to put newer black paint so it shiness like yours. Once i do that I will have American sunroof company install one of their electric sunroonfs just like how it comes stock in the SS. Once that is done get the black housing headlights and tail lights and call it a day =]
That's a nice MC.. real clean, nothing outrageous or stupid.. black on black with the metal lip looks awesome. Only thing I'd say bad it is that those wheels look awfully small on that car, maybe some bigger rims with a lower profile tire but that's just me :D. I can understand why you went for those, probably has more to do with the ride quality than appearance I get that completely and I respect that.

Thought bout lowerin my SS as well but I had a previous vehicle lowered w/ the full suspension & camber kit too. I NEVER cambered but the ride was never the same again even with aftermarket Tokico 4 to 1 shocks w/ the full suspension done to it :(
I have very similar rim's 2 yours but R just a lil bit different cause of the amount of spoke's on MY rim's. I also have a lil center cap in the middle too. But I DO LOVE THE WAY THE SS LOOKS 4RM STOCK 2 AFTER.
@demariojason Thanks for the E-Mail. I totally feel you about de-badging. I'm not TOO familiar with the Monte Carlo, no idea if they make a V6. But if you have a quiet idle (which I doubt you do) I am sure you surprise A LOT OF PEOPLE. Your car sounds pretty beast though, lovin' it. I'm tryin' to save some cash for a Corsa or Borla cat-back on the 2ss/rs LS3. I've been all Borla for years but Corsa has the rawest sound and I'm lovin' it. Hope the SS is treatin' ya well.
I Have an 04 monte carlo..i wish they would have had v8s for my year cuz i cant find an exhaust that sounds like its got muscle cuz its a 3.8. we could all have our wishes but im sure anyone would agree that they should have never moved the monte carlo to a front wheel drive car! i hope they come out with a new monte in a few years like they did with the camaros!!!
@demariojason Awesome i will take a look, i bout 20s and decided i didnt want to put them on my 02 MC or my gf 06 impala, so i sold them but i never had them on my car, so im lookin for some 18s and they look amazing on your car so i wanna see if they have a similar pattern, dont wanna copy lol i def will check it out, thank you very much =]

WoW 2-3 months w/after market lowering springs but still on stock SHOCKS?!
I might have to look into that. I know that eventually the SHOCKS will have to be changed due to the fact that the stock SHOCKS are NOT meant for LOWERING SPRINGS. Either way I LOVE THE DROP ON SS...MAKE'S A DIFFERENCE.

Thanks for the info. I know from personal experience that the stock shocks are not always the best BUT you are using LOWERING SPRINGS AND NOT A COIL OVERS WHICH IS WHERE I THINK IS WHERE THE DIFFERENCE IS.
HOW LONG if you don't mind me asking have you had the lowering springs on the stock shocks so far?
@demariojason Thanks! Just wondering. Have you had any oil consumption issues with your car? Mine has almost 50,000 miles and is using just over one quart every 2,000 miles. The dealership is finally acknowledging the issue and is replacing the pistons and rings under warranty.
Im really considering get one of these. The last g8 was sold in my province and hows the relaibility of these cars. Power and handling. And whats there for aftermarket and engine mods. Thanks a ton.

Nice video!! Just wondering how do you like the SSC Springs, because I plan on getting them from the company in Manatoba. Also what kind of motor is it? is it the 3.8 L S/C or something different? And what kind of mufflers do you have on?
i get you into racing... but a lil bigger wheels pls. at least get a larger offset. the wheels are tucked into the car.. it looks like they are scared. although i cant say the same for your pipes. sounds real nice

Wassup, thats being ran straight pipe? Cause to me sometimes trucks and cars don't sound good with dual exhaust. And people look at me crazy when i say i want straight pipe, let me know

Awesome car. I personally would have kept the SS badges and blacked them out. I think keeping the SS badge gives it more of an SS feel. Awesome car none the less. Are those HID's?
I'm seriously considering getting an ls4 Monte to upgrade from my 3800 Monte. What kind of mpg do u get on average without getting on it alot? Love the Monte by the way
I don't like the front ends on the 07's, too much like the Impalas. If only you could put the 5.3 V8 in the 03, 04, 05 models! That would be sweet!
Hopefully you have fixed the alignment as well. I noticed that, in the video, the inside of your tires are completely bald. Very nice car though man.
i dont like slp that much, they are way too loud. i ended up going with the magnapacks which are almost just as loud as the slp just not as wreckless lol

It was really about 5 of them total lol....We were going down I 75 southbound and I sort of zip by and the all swarmed around and ATTEMPTED to out run me and I didn't let em! hehe!! They got frustrated and tried to do the fly by and I didn't let that happen either! LoL!!
ya straight pipe and no mufflers nor any reasonaters!! yeah it depends on the motor.....you have to be really carefully with straight pipe or flowmasters with a 4 or 6 cylinder.....mostly all 8 cylinders sound good with straight pipe AND dualed exhaust! its all in your diameter especially on the outlets.....my outlets(tips) are like 3 1/2 i think? and my cat back system is 3 in into 2 1/2 to the 3 1/2 tips!! ;-)
