THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING! - Навчання та стиль
I used to be a docent at the USS Midway Museum and was onboard the day an Indian wedding took place. I don't know when the one in this video happened, but if it was more than 10 years ago then it's likely it was the same one I saw. The groom was a self-made tech millionaire and pilot. He and he bride each landed on the ship in their own helicopters (he flew his, of course). Once on the deck they had an airshow with privately-owned military jet trainers (L-39s for those that are wondering), World War Two aircraft (T-6 Texans, AD-1 Skyraider, maybe others too) , etc. Incredible. Although they had the ship reserved for the wedding, ordinary museum guests were still onboard even during the wedding, and so they all got to see the airshow. It had to have taken a LOT of coordination with air traffic control, as San Diego International Airport is just a couple of miles away (the approach path is even closer to the Midway).
Incidentally, I once flew in the same type of aircraft in the photo, a C-1 Trader. I flew in some of the other aircraft types at the museum, too, but the aircraft I flew in regularly as a member of the crew was the S-3 Viking.
The chin to the light is so important in this shot. I think people underestimate that aspect. Great video Pye.
Indeed, that step is critical.
Outstanding, inspiring tutorial. Thank you!
Great vid, thanks Pye!
Superb! great tips. Thanks!
It's how you were considering the composition based on post editing ideas and procedures. I never thought of this. Groovy
Yes! That's a huge step in your ability as a photographer. Try to think of where you're going to take an image in post while you're creating the image.
In fact, this is a great subject. Maybe, I'll do a tutorial specifically on how to do this and what to look for.
Excellent tutorial, thanks!
Great tutorial... effective, to the point and not verbose😃
Very helpful. I like how you go through the details and the why you adjust certain settings in Lightroom. Also very help that you explain how you thought about placing the subject in the location and the position of the sun
Glad you dig!
awesome!!!
Nice tutorial
useful 10mins
Thanks, john
Thank you!
My favorite photography educator. You definitely make the advanced look attainable for us mortals. Thank you so much!
superb
🤝😎
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the info, I'm trying to step my editing game up. Do you ever use flash to achieve this editing effect? Like making the subject brighter with flash to stand out similarly.
👍🏻
💥 8:43 What I don’t like about the after is how the black in his jacket lost its black character and rich contrast and looks grey.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing this. Very informative. Btw, I am learning NX Studio. Do you provide any tutorials on NX Studio?
I don't use NX, but check the channel and see if anyone else does
hi Pye! I would love to see something similar using Godox V1C and AD600 Pro with RTii Trigger.. and the Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L iii USM lens...on a DSLR instead of mirrorless,
thnx
Hi. I love watching your tutorials. I mostly do still life, however want to branch out in Portraits. Is there a focal length that is best for portraits? or a Range of focal lengths that is best for portraits?
Thank you 😊
If go back and watch his videos it will dépend on what type of portrait you are creating from a wider angle 24 to 35 mm for environmental to medium telephoto 85 or 135 for head shots or blurring out the background. There are lots of nuances for the style and feel you want from the portrait. Alot of pyes video he is using the canon rf 28-70 f2. I would recommend searching this channel as I am sure I have seen video about choosing the lens.
Generally 85 to 200-ish is common for portraits, but it really depends on what you're trying to achieve. For portraits in which the surrounds are important, a wider angle lens is typically used. I've shot portraits with lenses as wide as 18mm and as long as 300mm.
It really depends on the effect you want to carry to your subject. 50mm is a great all around focal length.
@@payamjirsa I have a crop sensor, but I have a 50mm prime (which for my camera would make it a 75mm) would that be okay, or should I use my kit lens and set it for my crop sensor to be at 50mm?
Thanks again!🙂
Nice tutorial. Unfortunately the subject has his eyes closed😢
Haha. His eyes aren't closed, this is a popular pose used to feature clothing. He's looking down toward his shoulder.
The Midway was my very first ship I served on back in 1985.
Hi! Is this Lightroom creative?
Hey.... I'm Zeeshan...I'm from Pakistan I've my own studio here... for wedding photography nd videography.... I work good... but I still want to learn more about photography.... can you teach me? Reply me if you read my message
Hi @Zee ... thanks for watching and commenting. It means a lot. We don't currently have any one-on-one education options, but we do lay out everything we know within SLR Lounge Premium. Please let us know if you have any specific questions about that. (slrloungeworkshops.com)

Yeah can you tell me how to make perfect photo when sun is totally behind my client?
So, what's the idea, connecting together Indian wedding and US aircraft carrier?
Are the indian persons - the personnel of the US carrier? May be they are fond of american aircraft carriers?
What a stupid idea for shooting! Even monkeys around intercontinental missile could be looking more sensible for sure.
