  • CC: Ever wondered how to get creamy skin tones? This is my secret for getting super creamy skin tones in your photos.
    So the first thing you're gonna wanna do is open Lightroom. You can see here I have Lightroom Mobile open, but this works on Lightroom Desktop as well. Then, you're gonna wanna open the tone curves. Make sure you're not in the RGB tone curves. But, just open this exposure curve tone.
    Before I show you this trick let me briefly explain to you what the tone curve does so you can understand what we're doing. So basically the exposure tone curve controls the lights and darks in the image and you are able to manipulate which areas of the photo become lighter and darker so at the very bottom of the tone curve we have blacks and shadows. The middle area is mid tones and then we have highlights and whites.
    So to do this creamy skin tone trick you're gonna wanna start by having these 3 points on your tone curve (as shown in video) and my trick is to take this middle point and drag it upward and what we're doing is we're adding brightness to the mid tones of the photo. That's gonna create a really creamy look to your skin tones. You can also take this middle point and you can just drag it down a little bit or drag it up depending on the skin tone. Remember that every skin tone is different so this point might need to be a little down or up, just depending.
    Here's the before and here's the after!

      Totally agree with you. They just want to catch up with the algorithms by posting random stuff. Just so stupid.

      I have no idea what I’m doing. Her explanation and examples help me. Why are you being disrespectful? I’m sure you could find better things to do with your time than to put someone down who’s trying to help people like me. There’s enough room for everyone and there’s an audience for everyone. You’re not her audience and that’s ok.

    Can’t you just boost the luminance on the oranges in the HSL panel? Lol

      Did yo know how to use editing apps?
      Luminance increase the light colour itself, but curve increase midtone, as you seen the video.

    Thank you! I just found your channel and subscribed. Can you tell me what mirrorless camera you’re using. I’m using a Canon 90D right now and I’m thinking of switching.

      Just read a lot of tests about lenses - see which system have the ones that fit your needs and that you can afford, for example sony has oldest mirrorless bagnet and allows third party lens production, after you choose the system - you go for the lens and then for the camera you can afford that will deliver -then slowly upgrade to better camera or preferably add some quality lenses first

    What is 'midtone'?

    • @rserrasouza
      @rserrasouza 11 місяців тому

      The midtones in my understanding, are the tones in the middle of the light spectrum, usually where skin tones reside in. So if you bring it up or down, the skin will be bright or darker because it resides on the middle of the brightness spectrum in a photo.

    There's a million better ways to fix skin tones directly in Lightroom without having to just lift the midtones of the entire image.
