The Best Crop Scouting Vehicle
Вставка

- We love the geo tracker!! Fun fact... it's the vehicle that we drove away from our wedding in. Thank you to everyone who has served or is currently serving in our military! It's nice to be back in the tractor cab. I love completing projects! What do you think is better: the drone or the gimbal?

This SeaBee (MCB121 Vietnam 1968-1969) thanks your grandfather for his service and I wish him a full recovery.
Ok, what really nice is, you are smiling like the sun, I open the video and can see you smiling, its the best second of the day to see your smiling face !
"Gravity is a law, and I obey the laws." Haha that whole exchange was a good one.
great comedian John Pinette reference!
Or to quote Miranda Lambert: "Gravity is a bitch!".
@@2605155 Thanks for the info! I did not know where all that came from. So of course, I had to go watch that segment. Funny stuff!
Prayers are going to papa! He will always be my brother
Good Morning to you too! 🥰
Hey Grant,, from one pilot to another your killing it. Nice stable shots with good foreground and background movement. Keep it up. Laura, you did great in the tractor as usual. Every director needs a star!!
Yet another use for the Tracker/Sidekick platform!
I'm on my fourth unit - two 2-doors and two 4-doors nearly all street use.
My off-road Suzuki was my '88 Samurai that I drove for 20 years. I also used it to deliver pizza...
Thank you Lara for saying that about who served-I served in the army 1968 - 1971 spent tour in Korea
That shirt is awesome. I was in the Navy during Vietnam and wore shirts exactly like that. Used to have to press them with HEAVY starch. Your Papa probably wore bell bottom jeans too. Ask him about how they were pressed. Prayers for your Papa. 🙏🙏🙏
Great Job at Helping The Neighbors with their Farming 🚜 😀👍👊
I saw that beautiful smile a year ago and have been watching your channel ever since. It's not like I want to please. I like people with a positive attitude towards the world. And your laugh as well as what you do with great passion is cool. I don't understand English well and I still give advice. I just have to figure out what you're talking about. Greetings.
From the UK to Mr Carlson: Get well soon.
Good Thursday afternoon to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the UK
Prayers for your Grandpa, you and your family. With Father’s Day fast approaching I want to say you are invaluable to your Dad. Ya’ll work great together and he seems to be a patient, caring Father. Like Grant, I love cultivating. I miss being on a farm so much, bailing was really cool when we bailed the smaller bails and neighbors would come and help and the ladies would fix the lunch for everyone and we would all help out all of our neighbors with their bailing and whatever they needed help with. That Denali truck looks so fine. If you would have had that truck before you got married and passed by Grant’s house blowing the horn and waving, he would have chased you on foot to the end of the world, or until you stopped or ran out of gas. LOL 😂 😂😂👏👍🙏✌️😎.
Prayers for Grandpa! Please tell him thanks for his service to this amazing country!
I’m glad y’all adjusted that fork lift. The first way y’all were lifting was binding it and since the forks weren’t tilted back far enough, it was pushing the bind toward the person working on it. I know it was still mounted on the tractor, but the tilted forks were putting it in a bind…raising it w a chain was wayyyyy smarter…y’all are some problem solvers! Cool to see a dad teaching his daughter something unconventional for a woman
As a city dweller I'm amazed at the financial investment all the equipment, tools, vehicles, seed, etc... is required to run a farm.
We do two things fairly consistently. Get into debt, then hopefully get out of debt. We’re very conservative personally.
My rule is maintain 50% equity on land. It will appear that we have more, because we shake up our debt structure consistently and shift as much of it over to equipment and infrastructure as possible. The IRS considers payments on appreciating land assets as unqualified for deducting from taxable income, but depreciating asset payments can be subtracted.
I don’t believe in debt on equipment otherwise. I started with 30 plus year old plus units, and saved for 20 yrs to get a new shop, grain system, and get all my work horses newer than 5 yrs old. With the exception of a few chore tractors. I add that debt into my land equity calculation.
Once I’m at 75% equity, it’s time to go shopping. I’m pulling out some equity. The land I’m buying is going to have value, so right now I’d be in the market for 600 acres. I always rent ground equal to what we own, so that would be 1200 acres of total growth. We’re 5 years away from that move.
Why rent 1 acre for every owned acre? It used to be because I didn’t own much, and needed to average a $1000 / land payment, which a farm can’t realistically cover, with a much lower rent, in today’s numbers, about $250. A farm can sustain $625 if you do it right.
Now it’s more about staying scaleable / modular. I can drop 1500 acres next year if the zombie apocalypse happened. I’ve never dropped an acre yet, and it would be heart breaking to do so, considering the conversion to organic process we go through.
Sorry for rambling. You seemed genuinely interested.
@@LtColDaddy71 this is great, thanks for replying. Farms are not only the backbone of the country but enterprises run by very capable multifaceted individuals or a family team. One of the reasons I like Laura's channel is it shows the dedication and attitude to move forward to thrive.
Your comment shows a head for finance which not too many of us have anymore.
@@superman60201 thank you, but my way may not be the best way for another farm. The main thing is to just get out there. Rent ground, work
for farmers 1st to learn. You don’t have to be organic like me, most who are act like it’s the only way. Their are many smart ways to farm that this channel / Laura follow. They are good to their soil, not just trying to wring all they can out of it.
@@LtColDaddy71 there’s ups and downs to both for sure spraying your spending money on chemicals and fertilizers ,insecticide
@@LtColDaddy71 and with the organic lots more cultivating so you spend a little more diesel unless you’re burning your weeds or something along those lines then you’re spending money on propane lol either way you’re spending money lol
Geo hell yeah.. my prayers for you and your family.. crops look Awesome.. Retired Army here Fort Hood Texas
It's a real eye opener, to see how big scale farming is done in the 21st century. There's so much technology involved. So much going on in the cab of the tractor. It's like the command center inside of one of the Apollo spacecraft ! I've just recently found your channel and enjoying the videos. Best wishes for your Grandpa. I hope all goes well for him.
Thanks to all who has been in the service, is currently.......and also to you and your family Laura for being farmers. It is a hard job. Hope your grandpa fully recovers for a few more years of quality time.
Good Morning from New Zealand, Thank you for your Great Laura Farms Video, Thank you sharing, have a great weekend
Prayers for your Grandpa.
I salute all army members thank you for your service
Awesome update 🙏 coming for Mr Carlson from NH. 👍🌄
From one veteran "Gulf war 1991" to another "poppa curt" thank you, god bless.. Get well soon.. You have a amazing granddaughter👌she is awesome!🚜
You 2 look great working together so cute
I just found your channel and have watched several videos I love how upbeat you guys are, and how happy ya'll look working a farm together. I wish you all the best you guys
8/16/23 - Great video today! Farming ain't easy? Loved the drone view , Beautiful fields!!
Continued prayers for your grandpa
I am jealous of your Geo Tracker. I drove a 1993 for 14 years and loved almost every minute, even though it looked like a rolling bottle of Pepto Bismol. I still fantasize about buying another one just for snow.
From all of us from Wisconsin tell your Grandpa get well and thank him for his service in the military God bless
My son was a seabee. 20 yrs in, then retired. Hope your grandpa gets better soon.
It's nice to see your smile!) A cheerful girl. I've heard that American farmers are the hardest working! Greetings from Russia!)
That shirt is family treasure.
Tell your grandpa THANK YOU, From USN Retired, I worked with the SeaBees in Guam after I returned from Nam.
You should adopt some feral cats. They would take care of those mice, and you'd give them a home. There are rescues that adopt out feral cats for farmers with barns.
Seeing Grandpa's shirt reminded me I have a USAF shirt I wore 40 years ago in my closet. NO way I could get in it now.
Reminded me of my 3 piece suit that I had received as my graduation from high school present. No way that I could ever fit into it again. I was small and lean then just like that myself (because I was also working hard at a full time co-op job for my last two years in high school) after growing up as a chubby kid.
Thanks Pappa C/Kurt!!!! Sea Bees.....You da Man!!!! Best of luck Friday!
I hope your grandpa is doing well, Laura.
It's great hearing you two talking shop while riding in the tractor.
And 14:24 "What do you think of the new gimbal? I like it!" reminded me of that clip of 9-year old Laura "What do you think of this new Draper head?" I like it!". :)
I love your music. i have a small farm pumpkin patch and you are playing on the big screen in my shop and the music is perfect for farming. keep it up. and say hi to Grant.
So sorry to hear about your Grandpa Health.. Please let me know and I will be Praying for him for God to heal him . God Bless Laura Family
Nice drone footage! Adds a lot of perspective of the farm's scale. Prayers and best wishes for your grandpa. Give your dad and Grant a big hug for us!
Keep smiling Laura! You definitely light up our day with it!!!
From Waterloo Iowa, THANK YOU for the time you & Grant spend on your videos. I look forward to them. Tell Grant to take a shot of I-80 in the background. I & my sister will pass by in September headed to Grand Junction Co. & back. Praying for GRANDPA.
Great work. We enjoy watching.
Good night friend
The crops look like they are really growing. Like your videos, hope your grandpa gets well soon
We had that exact same GEO that we bought brand new in 1996. Same color even, but ours was a convertible. Brings back memories to see it again. to see it again.
🙏🇺🇸 Thank you again Papa Kurt for your service. Speedy recovery to you! Great video Laura and Grant!
The gimbal makes a huge difference hope your grandfather gets well.. you and Grant are the best match made in the world...y'all are lucky to have each other... #backtheblue/red/green And thank a farmer !!! And a trucker !!!
Prayers for you all
You really work so hard. I bet you're dad is so proud.
Farming, faith, love for our country and the men and women who serve(d) - Laura you are the full package
Prayers to your family, you guys are the best
Good video by both of you, the gimbal worked well. Grampa still in my prayers.
Best wishes for Grampa. 👍😎
A great video Laura farm and lots of nice things in it.
You are such a sweetheart! Your husband is Soo lucky 🤠
So is Laura. Grant seems like a nice guy.
Thanks for sharing, had a shirt/s just like that.
Hey Laura and Grant. You're in our prayers always. You inspire us young farmers a lot.
You're making God proud of you
That cordless storage is a winner, I'm going to make one.
Hope the best for your grandpa, my older brother was in Vietnam, he's had cancer in his throat. Doing pretty well for now.🤞
As always a pleasure... thx
What a team 😎 Laura & Grant
Looking forward to Papa Kurts update...We love you guys and hope you have a great harvest this fall...Thanks for the shout-out! Ed - US Navy (Submarines) retired/DoD Contractor USNS Button GUAM
Very cool that you got your Grandpa Curt's shirt.
You too are the best and the most thoughts and prayers for Papa Curt ❤️🙏🏻
Seabee's rock praying for gramps and thanks for his service from a fellow Seabee (E4 Steelworker)
I think that was a John Pinette reference which I love!
Thoughts and prayers going out to Papa Curt and sending positive vibes to you from the state of DELAWARE! Also THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
Laura you Rock and are a good person. Don't ever change!
Praying for your Grandpa. I got a little misty eyed when you put on his uniform shirt as I am also a Vietnam veteran. God bless you and your family.
Your drone should have a gimble also. They are great.
Catch a drone shot of I-80 sometime in the background.
Grandpa's are special people . Enjoy their presence as long as it is possible.
:o)
WOW you two look great together. The love that you have for each other is magical and wonderful to see. I love the drone shots and the music. Nebraska is looking really good right now!!!!
The gimble is a beautiful thing. Both of your videos are wonderful. Thank You! :-)
You're a special lady Laura. Love y'all's respect and love for one another.
Papa Curt(sp?🤷🏻♂️) rocks! That idea IS really a great idea! I will be borrowing that idea.👍. Amen Laura…thank you to everyone that served this country!🇺🇸. I actually like both. The drone gets incredible overhead shots, and the gimbal helps stabilize the camera as opposed to hand held camera usage. Always good to have the right tool for the job!😎✌️
You're welcome Laura! But I think as a farmer you work harder than I did when I was in the military, LOL!
@ 3:35 Dad said: Why don't you fork it right here and I thought: What did he say!? But Laura knew exactly what he said and started to do it. It is obvious that she has been on a farm her whole life.
Now that was a hell of a sexy corn shot with the tractor rolling by at 12:26 right after you mentioned the gimbal. Nice job Grant!
She is such a ham !! She knows she is cute and she uses it to her advantage !! Love when shes swing her ponytail haha wish people thought I was such a gem
You guys are great younger farmers. We appreciate you'll for your great hard work and dedication to tilt the land and feed us all. It takes effort and a lot of investments too. Just subscribed to your channel. We will enjoy watching all your farm activities too. Thanks
The gimbal and drone each have their place. Drones are great at the overviews/pans but those gimbal shots were money!
I love the drone shots; it shows the scale of the land that the Tractor works on
Grant, get yourself a set of neutral density filters for the drone. You've got some rolling shutter going on. Common problem with fixed aperture lenses used on most consumer drones.
He is correct, and make sure you shutter speed is twice your frame rate. If shooting at 30 FPS, make sure your shutter speed is set at 60. Great job.
Love the drone footage at the end of this video! 😎
Don't worry about the mouse Laura....it's the rats you should be worried about...🙈😊🤣😁
Laura is a tough git r' done farm girl, but her fear of mice shows that she's still quite feminine in the good charming attractive adorable way!
Grants a lucky man you’re multitalented very responsible and not afraid to get you hands dirty ready to crawl under a truck and help change the transmission you’re awesome 👍
I was a mechanic on a submarine.
1. "close quarters"...big chuckle
2. You're welcome
Thank you for your service Sir 🇺🇸
@@pauljilka6989 You're welcome.
Navy veteran here. I wore those shirts from1979 to 1983. They look better on you. Prayers for Papa Curt
The gimbal and quad copter shots are flippin' sweet!
hello from Australia laura love your channel
I like the music you/y'all choose for videos
That is a very good idea for a tool rack. Love your choice in tools, my choice as well.
Our 3 favorite tool companies on our farm are matco, Millwaukie, and bosch
I love Milwaukee tools, but they were too expensive to me until they have recently dropped their prices down to compete with Ryobi which are also fine power tools. Wished that they had dropped their prices before I bought all Ryobi. All of my old plug in power tools are Milwaukee or Bosch.
You got it Laura right to a tee
Laura you need a photo in that shirt!!!!! That looks awesome on you by the way!
Prayers for your Grandpa and thank him for his service. I noticed the corn was as high as the bar and was wondering if that would be the last hit for that field? Then you answered my question when you said you would break it over some times.
In the Navy in the sixties. Thank you. You bring Joy to my heart.
You guys are awesome! 💪🚜
There's a mouse about the house!
I have an 8 year old, that was the first thing that came to mind
