Tagging and inoculating the cows and checking for pregnancy brings back memories of farm life when I was much younger. That including helping in the "castrating" of the whole crop of piglets. Also, in the middle of a Montana snowstorm, pulling a calf when it's mother was having difficulty delivering. Definitely an education and seeing the healthy calf stand and start to nurse after it's successful arrival. That and other adventures from Western Kansas, Southeast Kansas farms, haying in the high Rockies in Colorado and adventures farm communities in Montana are all such good memories. Besides sparking such enjoyable memories, your channel really demystifies farming for the millions of people who have no idea that their food doesn't just magically show up at their grocery store. Fantastic video Laura. Dave
Would you please give numbers on how many live stock you have. I know how many trucks (6) of pigs you sent out, same with your cows. I really enjoy your videos. It brings back many memories to a 75 year old.
I love how you're not at all squeamish. I don't know if I would be able to stick my arm in a cow to check if she is pregnant but I admire you for doing it!
Recently discovered your channel and love it. I come from a family of farmers. Screw the disclaimers and trigger warnings! This is a Farming channel. And people don’t know what they’re going to get then that’s because they’re living in denial about where their food comes from. People in this country need to wake up and start living in reality. I love vegans and vegetarians to talk about how they do it because it’s healthy. I’ve met tons of unhealthy fat vegans and vegetarians because they stuff themselves with foods full of chemicals and sugar! You’re a bad ass girl! Keep up the great work! PS: when I was a kid and didn’t want to cut the grass or do something around the yard or the garden that my parents wanted my mother would start telling me about when she was a little girl back in the 1950s picking cotton & tobacco! Which reminds me, I’ll learned how to drive as a little boy sitting in my grandfather‘s lap on a John Deere tractor back in the 1970s! I remember going to the co-op in town with my grandfather to dump corn seed. If he wasn’t in a hurry we would go eat ice cream or he would take me to lunch, which as a little kid that was always amazing.
Wow. Your first hands-on pregnancy test! Cows are phenomenal beasts. Milk is the most versatile "crop" you can make. This was a chock-full video, and much appreciated. In 20 years of food industry work, I only got to spend an hour with cows. You have added a lot!

My dad got to know his cows by almost a name. He tought us kids how to handle cattle. I remember my dad asking for help one year from my cousins husband. This guy showed up with a quad runner and a shock gun. My dad just about went through the roof over that. Him and the guy has some choice words to each other but eventually the guy left. Once a year we took the entire heard of cows about 5 miles to an irriagated quarter we had bye town. Dad go in olld farmall with a bucker of corne in the busket,he drover very slow and every cow folloed him to the quarter the only thing us kids had to do was make sure all the gates along the route were closed.
sooo nice to see how other people do these jobs, my dad always does the pregnacy check bc i don't know how to do that, but like all other things, like putting earrings, i do those thing, and i'm pretty good ahah

Getting tired of working cows myself. Lost my second closest neighbor to getting knocked over on cement by a cow (she wasn't mean, just knocked him over passing by), couple years ago.
